  1. Lets petition to have this be the TRU fan poll.

    The choices would be:

    -Black Bolt

    -Medusa

    -Gorgon

    -Karnak

    -Crystal

    -Triton

    -Lockjaw

The Lockjaw we have already is fantastic so we might not need him.

Would we want modern editions or more classic outfits?

  2. Wait, didn't we basically get a Shadowland wave?

As I had said, It was just wishful thinking. There were some components I think were missing from that wave and maybe a Hells Kitchen theme could top it off.

But If that doesn't work, maybe a cosmic theme to go with the Infinity set with characters such as:

    Starfox/ Classic Nebula

Modern Drax/ Rocket (With little Groot in a pot. Kinda a vice versa thing with the movie Groot)

    Adam Warlock/ Kree Soldier

    Magus/ Kree Soldier

Well great, now I want all of those figures in front of me now!

  3. I just started reading Shadowland again and realized that maybe a hell's kitchen wave would be cool. I guess a line up would include:

    -Punisher

    -Bullseye

    -Kingpin (Black suit)

-Moon Knight (With alt. modern suit parts)

-Yellow DD with variant "Trial of the Incredible Hulk" DD.

-I don't know who would be a good army builder since the Hand was just done in the Shadowland wave but I guess they could work again, or maybe like a Kingpin goon.

This was just wishful thinking as I'm reading Shadowland but it might work.

  4. Ok, this thought just came to my head, instead of a movie Korath and Collector (Cause that doesn't seem plausible any more) we can have a comic two pack of them in TRU wave 19! It would go along well with the comic Ronan/Iron Man pack I think.

  5. I don't suppose any one could suggest an alternate shouting head for Black Bolt could they?

I would say FA Kirby Thor because his mouth is just open and not screaming. If my memory serves me right, Black Blot doesn't scream, he just whispers or opens his mouth and projects sound waves of catastrophic size.

  6. I saw the movie last night and I loved it! I will probably see it again tonight with my sister but I don't think it lived up to the standards of Winter Soldier. All in all it was a great movie with good characters a nice plot and wonderful execution. I do think a little more character development could've taken place of a few scenes but it was fine how it is.

I was surprised with the role Korath played in the movie. I thought he would just capture Star-Lord in the beginning, but he did much more than that as one of Ronan's lackeys. I also think that a fourth TRU pack with Korath and the Collector would've benefitted everyone.

One more thing, where was the orb? I thought for sure t he Star-Lord/ Ronan would have it. Even as just a molded hand piece like the tesseract with Robo-Skull.

  7. I honestly don't understand why toy companies feel the need to get their merchandise out with literally three pages of control art and three months before the film is even released. I feel this mostly with GOTG because control art suggested that Drax was grey, the companies felt the need to maker him grey rather than waiting just a bit longer for more source material. Also, with the Winter Soldier movie wave, I honestly did not need Sitwell, he was a pointless character in the film and did not deserve a minimate like Smythe in ASM2. Instead they should've gone with Nick Fury for WS and Harry for ASM2. The roster I felt for the Winter Soldier fell flat. I think Stealth cap and Batroc would've been a much better pairing and have SItwell come with Rumlow. My final point is Thor 2. why was the TRU wave cancelled? It made no sense. DST would've gotten a lot more sales if they even made it two separate waves like they did for X-Men Origins. I understand it was probably because like TRU didn't want to carry their minimates anymore or something like that, but it still displeases me to say, movie waves are falling flat, very flat.

  8. I liked it this year when there was a comic cap wave earlier before the movie wave. I wish we would have also gotten a comic GOTG wave earlier this year too but this was an odd year when 4 Marvel movies all hit during the summer and took up so many slots.

I love having both comic and MCU mates!

I think maybe a mix of classic GOTG with current GOTG would've been nice like maybe a Yondu/ Star Lord. since they were both the leaders.

  9. I am sometimes pissed that film counterparts get made into mini's before their comic versions.

In the style of the DOFP comic set or the Winter Soldier Comic and Film waves. I want to see if you guys would be down for just comic counterparts being released around the same time or a good while after their film doppelgänger.

  10. I voted for Thanos, Cap, Hulk, and Ronan.

Ronan: The more Kree the better.

Thanos: The original looks too wimpy.

Cap: I really liked his Space Suit design.

Hulk: I didn't want another Iron Man.

Sadly, I do now wish I had voted for Iron Man. That away I could've had a full GOTG set up withbis Space Suit.

  11. To all my fellow Minimate collectors.

My condolences. You have no longer the ability to hunt for mini mates in the fashion i do. I recognize that TRU has begun to stop with the minimate craze and that leaves many people in the dirt. Lucky for me though(and maybe many others), I have located four other retailers that carry mini mates around my area. If anyone lives in the Chicagoland area(Namely Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Mt. Prospect), Look forth to Dreamland Comics, Quake Collectibles, Keith's Komix, and Comix Revolution. I was able to score the Deadpool's Assemble set at Dreamland yesterday. I hope this helps!biggrin.pngbiggrin.png

  12. Planet of the Apes mini mates is something I've thought of for a while. Ever since my dad introduced me to the film when I was eight, I have always had a strange desire to own my own little Planet of the Apes. Having Roddy McDowell in an form of 'mate is fine by me! i would even appreciate his character from Poseidon Adventure! Anyway, i have tried to come up with waves for the films but think that the Thundercats route would be more except able. Having a box set per movie with a few exclusive two packs here and there. Hope this helps!

  13. I just got back from my time out and only scored the Deadpool's Assemble set and Thunderstrike/Kronan Stone Man. I did also find a nice motorbike comparable with Minimates and Masters of the Universe Snake Castle for my displays. I had a pretty good day!

  14. I picked up the GOTG lego sets today, and after looking at the Sakaarans I noticed that the 'mate versions aren't as different as they seemed at first, it's more the color that's different. The 'mates are a sandy tan color while the Lego version is black, but they seem to have similar characteristics. And since I haven't seen them in any trailers or anything, it's possible they may have different versions or looks within the film itself.

the Sakaaran's are the grunts who come in with Korath in the opening of both trailers, while the lighting makes it hard to tell their color, id assume they're closer to the minimates since Lego is known for some wacky color errors and bold choices that dont always match the source material

I completely agree with the color errors statement. My biggest grip is definitely how they made Drax grey. I don't think I even want to pick up that set anyways. I think for my GOTG toy merchandise, I am sticking with the minimates. I'd say I want Ronan and Nebula the most.
