I was born in 1955 , my first US marvel was Avengers issue 19 ,June 1965 ,fresh off the newstands . I was 10.

I'm curious, was it something about Swordsman that captivated you? Because that's a very Swordsman-heavy cover.

  2. I'm definitely going to make a point of adding Crystar to my ML display. Even if there won't really be a conceivable place to put him...

Get's me thinking about a potential "Guardians of the Galaxy" style team comic about a bunch of D-List licensed Marvel characters from the 70s and 80s. Crystar, ROM, Micronauts, etc.

Sometimes it felt that the only person that seemed interested in Walgreens Marvel Minimates was me .

Personally, I was a big big fan of Walgreens Marvel Minimates. The animated waves, that is; not necessarily the MCU assortments.

I felt as if it were the same effect as 'Ultimate Marvel Comics' in the early noughties. Giving fans an opportunity to start a new collection of Marvel Minimates from the beginning in a way which emphasized significant players in the history of Marvel Comics.

I can see the significant lack of X-characters detracting from that point, but hey, if sacrificing another couple of Wolverines for the sake of Squadron Supreme I'm alright with that.

  4. Yeah, that Spider-Man proper looks tops. I'm all in on that, 2099, and Spider-Ham.

I wish it had been more of a literal "Spider-Verse" assortment rather than just a vague grouping of Spider-Mans's.

Morlun and an updated Silk would've been nice...

I know we're all mucking around but I feel like that has some serious legs, and would harken back to the days of the Ozzy/Alice/Eddie/Zombie rock mates

could have superstar era sets for many: a Bowie set, an Elvis set, Prince, Madonna, hell Alice Cooper could return in 2" with an additional 3 looks, not even to contemplate swappable parts and their possibilites

I absolutely want Rock Minimates to return. I want a Talking Heads box set very badly.

Bowie would bring me in as well. Like hardcore.

Again, a 50-50 situation might be a good idea, half blistered, half bagged, if such a thing were possible.

It could be a limited run of figures on vintage cardbacks to incentivize collectors. Make it clear that they're RARE and of LIMITED QUANTITY and they'll come running.

Second run being mass produced, clear polybags.

  7. I'm not a big G.I. Joe fan. I got the FCBD set mostly for Snake Eyes, because you obviously want to have the most iconic part of the franchise represented.

That said, the series 2 Cobra release is a top tier assortment of minimates. I didn't get series 1. Two figures I already had and two others that didn't excite me. Series 2 is different. The Cobra designs are striking and dynamic, more than the look of the Joes. I felt better getting two figured I already had in this instance because a.) Destro & Baroness were that impressive and b.) the subtle variation of Cobra Commander was interesting - I think I prefer the second version.

I would like to see and hope to see more ARAH minimates. Both to make everyone happy and to hopefully get more fascinating Cobra designs. Hopefully going forward DST will shelve the "retro" packaging gimmick and just give us the minimates. The extra cost is not worth the novelty, in my opinion.

TL;DR ~ I want more international terrorists and less military stooges.

The Excalibur Nightcrawler is also the best version we have had.

I'm partial to the Dave Cockrum version we got in Giant Size Wave 68. He has a cutlass!

I thought there was a checklist-style database somewhere around here, though I might be mis-remembering a lot of it. It’s been quite a few years. Gotta admit…sometimes I wish I hadn’t stopped on Minimates. Now I realize how there’s just no way I could ever jump back in. There’s so many. That’s a good thing for them though.

    Hail Ivan!
