well it's been 24 hours and i've heard nothing back from DST, you'd think they would want this cleared up, i mean how hard is it just to say "yes" or "no"

I've e-mail Mike over at DST, we should know soon....

I've e-mailed Mike over at DST, he was the one that cleared up the whole "Europe" thing for us, he replied to that situation quickly and seemed like a nice chap (whilst crushing a man's hobbie before him...) we'll know soon enough

i posted about this in another thread but so far it ain't looking good 1: no new marvel product in the new jan08 previews 2: diamond has a sale on (mainly) marvel dst products last month 3: they never told us about "no more minimates in europe" we had to find out on our own 4: we get more exclusive & specials in the coarse of a few months then in the coarse of a year 5: we get the figures we've been on about for years thinking about it all the exclusive's we've had at the end of this year could have been another wave but they new their time was up and made them as exclusive's just to try and get as much money as possible & without marvel as their "main" brand name they may not have thought the other brands could hold their own in Europe so aren't bothering with us

I just got back from my lcs and their having a word with a store in the US to see if they can come up with some sort of deal. so they would get them within a week of US release and the price would stay around the same (the more they order the cheaper the shipping, the cheaper they can sell them!!!!) i said i would throw it out on here so people still interested in buying from the UK can get them people that don't know them already send them an e-mail (or me and i'll pass it on!!) they said they will be selling these as a "2 inch plastic statue featuing 14 point of articulation aimed at mature collectors and not a toy intended for children" makes sense to me

it would also explain why in december i picked up some cheap, cheap cases's of marvel 12,13,16 & marvel zombies because diamond uk were have a massive sale on marvel DST products busts, statues, figures, minimates, hell i was paying around £30 a case!!!!!!!! at the time i thought it was a xmas sale but thinking about it..........................

OK so i just ran across this, now i don't want to add more fuel to already giant bonfire of DST but it might explain a few things (like why were getting such an awesome sets of marvel minimates in wave 19 & 20) http://forum.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseact...CAAF58F69641605 since it comes from a well known retailer there maybe some degree of truth to it and i'm looking through the JAN08 previews catalog and i can't seem to find any NEW!! marvel stuff from diamond select so god i hope this is wrong!!!!!!!!! but this would mean no more marvel minimates in 2008!!!! right (which would explain the sudden amount of marvel stuff to be announced at the end of last year & why we've got so many new minimate license's i hope am not the bearer bad news again, god i hope this is wrong.......................................................

well i posted a coment on DST's myspace saying.. "thanks for the best new years present The sales of MINIMATES in Europe are no longer at a level which would justify paying for safety testing. DST has therefore taken the decision to no longer offer MINIMATES in Europe" and they've taken my comment off, well thats freedom of speech for you, or, it seems like they don't want people to know what they've done

OK so mike just got back to me agian as i asked him "so will things that have already been solicitated in previews still come out" he said "Correct - this is something that will effect all future waves. Nothing that already has been solicited." so Marvel 17,18,19,20 taskmaster/ us agent black panther/iron man bttf 2 & the 2 pack 24 season 2 & 3 plus the 2pack bsg 4 & the 2 pack star trek 3 for a few dollars more should all be safe and so should DC as there nothing to do with DST

OK so i just got an e-mail back from Mike @ DST..... "Unfortunately this is true. Due to lower than expected sales in the UK and Europe and rising testing costs Minimates will no longer be offered to the UK or Europe. This was not an easy decision to come to mainly, because we know that there are a number of Minimate fans like yourself in the UK."

thinking about it, i don't think this will effect DC as they come from DC Direct and not DST so we shoud still be able to get them

well i hate to bring bad news to all UK'ers at this time of year but..... On friday i was in my lcs checking out previews and putting in my comic order for the new year & my minimate order, only to be told that they were'nt avalible in the UK anymore, now my lcs i've dubbed the "main man" for minimates as they are really good at getting everything were stumped, well they e-mailed diamond UK pretty much saying WTF!!! this was diamond UK's response...... This also applies to the MINIMATES offered in December Previews." A WTF!! indead! So i've written an e-mail to DST as has my lcs give them a good blasting on the subject and would urge all fellow UK'ers to follow suit But i wonder if the fact that we have to wait so long for product to arrive over here that it may have hurt sales with people buying from the US getting them faster and cheaper then UK shops. Anyway not really a good way to start the new year any developments and i will let you all know asap

just a heads up to UK'ers, you should be able to go to your lcs and pick these up today as there out over here at last!

OK step 1 a WW 3 story office block prints out on A4 but for minimate scale thats way to small so break it down into 1 story per page of A4, a minimate is 2" so the a the height of 1 story should be 4" which is easy to do in photoshop by changing the rulers to inchs, Step 2 paper/card i never use card or paper, i use A4 label sheets (its basically a giant A4 label) print onto that then u have 2 choices giant bits of card or my favorite foam card (A3) but you can get bigger, cut out your 1st floor stick to the card then repeat step 1 until u get a 3 story building then cut off any excess card and presto!! i'll try to take some photos of how i do it step by step for a simple build (i'm currently upscaling their new http://worldworksgames.com/store/index.php...products_id=232 and its pretty trickey because of the size)

those motorcycles seem a bit big for the lego men, but might be perfect for minimates, any photo would be cool

so anyway on the opposite end of things i was using some nail poilsh remover to clean the white paint off my spare she-hulk to leave just the purple, right, well to my surprise the purple came off aswell leaving just her natural green colour :o so now i have a topless she-hulk. Proving that marvel girls are infact party girl's & now my she-hulk needs an "over the shoulder boulder holder" painted on

well i would love to find a pantless mary jane & gwen stacey under my xmas tree this year, but i would settle for some minimates of them instead.....

i remember the ultimate green goblin was'nt wearing pants he just had a green belt with a big red thing and a cape, so its not just the minimate girls, ultimate gg is a bit of a party boy too i pinched this pic from minimate central so i hope danny don't mind me using it

my lcs are giving out minimate christmas crackers to their customers with a random minimate in them, i got a rocky

OMG f'me sideways these are amazing, if this year was the best year for minimates i think next year will be even better!!!
