  1. Has anyone tried putting Moon Knight's cape on Astonishing Emma Frost? I was really dissapointed she didnt have a cape, but I still don't have a Moon Knight to test it with.

    From page 6:

    http://www.minimatemultiverse.com/index.ph...st&p=167293

Haha, I swear I even went back and checked out all the pages. Must have missed that post.

The cape looks good, It's a shame the original hairpiece doesn't work though, I mean I thought it looked very "Emma."

  2. Sorry about the dumb question (I've kinda been out for a while,) but will we always get an army builder from now on? with the variant I mean?

I kinda hope they save AoA Sinister for a two pack with Nate Grey (X-man) or another AoA Boxset.

I wonder about nimrod though. Do you think its going to be original Nimrod? the Second Coming Nimrod Sentinels? Or maybe Nimrod with romevable parts to make him Bastion? I kinda feel like Sinister and Bastion would have more of a connection with the whole Messiah War/Second Coming thing.

  3. I happen to like Vision 2.0, I know I would rather have 2 different versions of a character(in this case almost a new character completely) than just a version of the standard release with some transparency. Like Dan said, you don't have to buy it if you don't like it, but there are others who are happy with it. I'm just hoping we get some more Young Avengers(Boxset anyone? )

  4. that we're getting a rerelease of Hydroman set Spidey in this series.

    They aren't the same:

Boxset Spidey = "Torment" McFarlane design

Wave 19 Spidey = Amazing Fantasy Spidey

They do look a little similar, but compare the details, color, and eyes and you'll see they are totally different. But AF Spiderman would probably be more recognizable if he had the Web wings.

  5. If the "modern" Havoc that you are referring to is the 90s Havoc from X-Force, then I must say, I much prefer the classic look. The old school Havoc was a very distinctive look, which was very bold and interesting. The guy in the 90s with the blond hair and the jacket with rolled up sleeves looked about as generic as a 90s guy could, IMO. Of course, you guys could be referencing something more recent that I'm unfamiliar with, and if so, I can't comment. . .now that I realize it, I guess that I really hate X-Men costumes from the 1990s generally :)

No way, I'm not a huge fan of the X-factor costumes myself. They're too 80s/90s style inspired for me. The one I'm refering too is this one:

    havok00.jpg

There is even a version of this custom that has a helmet that somewhat resembles the original one. It has the three rings except they're close to the head(and smaller) and has a translucent blue visor. Don't get me wrong, I love the original costume, its just my second favorite Havok costume ;)

  6. I'm with Tenime, i would prefer modern Havok, Polaris is close enough that I can live with it, but I still want the modern Havok look. I guess the classic one makes him look villain-ish, IMO. Plus I like the blue addition on the modern suit.

  7. I sent AFX an email today, since they seem to respond to emails pretty quickly, and I'm less worried than I was before. They told me "Most likely what happened is the warehouse mislabeled the package. Either way, we will get it rerouted to you. If that cannot be done then we will send out a replacement package." And when I asked when I could expect to see it they answered with "Our warehouse has advised that if they cannot locate the package within 48 hours, then a replacement will be sent to you. A tracking number should automatically be emailed to you. If you do not receive a tracking number, then please contact us."

So if I don't get an email by Wednesday, I try again to see if it was taken care of. Hopefully I'll get a tracking number and all will be well ;)

  8. I would like if maybe they threw in an animation inspired pair here or there, but I don't think they would convert to only doing animated styles. Heck, they could even do boxsets or exclusives(since we really haven't seen these anyway) with Minimates from the DC toons. Like someone said before they've done Harley and Clayface which are inspired by the animated series. And if you remember back to SDCC(I think it was last year?) The minimate they gave away was a Justice League animated series Green Lantern, so I would say there are some possibilities as far as animated versions go.

I actually prefer the anime inspired Titans myself, and would definitely love if they did some minimates of them. Huntress and Question were my favorite Characters in JLU, so some 'mates would be greatly appreciated :D Plus I want a male Question...

  9. Oh man, Lee_dm's post worries me....I'm still waiting to hear back from them. Since its the weekend I won't freak out too much since they only operate Mon-Friday, but If I don't get a reply monday heads will role <_<

  10. I was going to post in the Defenders thread, but I thought this was a little off the topic.

Ok, So I ordered a Defenders set from Shop AFX so I could get the Spidey Exclusive, Plus I want an extra Namor to customize. I put my order through last Friday(Jan 25) and was really looking forward to getting them this week. When they didn't come by the end of the week, I got a little worried. I went to check on my email and found a new one asking me to rate the product I received, problem is there was no product. I sent an email to AFX letting them know I hadn't received a tracking notification, the package, or pretty much any notice regarding my order. They replied with a tracking number that said they had attempted to deliver the package on the 31st, and a notice was left so If I wanted to get it I had to go down to the post office, sign and take it. So I put in the tracking number and it said something about it being delivered to GAMBRILLS, MD 21054. The only issue is that I don't live in Maryland, I'm in Fresno, California. I told them this and said either I was given the wrong number or they sent it to the wrong place. They replied with

"We are sorry about this and will have our warehouse look into this further."

Thats it. Nothing else. You think they would at least let me know some sort detail so I wouldn't be so freaking mad I could Hulk out.

I've checked my order dozens of times to make sure the info I put into was right, and everything was. I don't see how it would be sent all the way over to the other side of the country(thats if thats the problem) especially when the warehouse they use is in LA. I've never ordered from them before (although I have bought from their booth at SDCC), I guess I'm just frustrated and feel like they really aren't paying attention, and I'm not just talking about the order but the email I had sent.

So has anyone else experienced problems with this online store before?

  11. I'm betting these sets are gonna come out the week of ToyFair? DST just seems to like releasing things during Shows/Cons.

I can't wait for these two waves! There are so many characters I've been waiting for since Marvel Minis started. Ms. Marvel, Hawkeye, Polaris, Vision, Havok, Ultron, Archangel, Mysterio, and more! I'm a little disappointed that Apocalypse is the same size as the regulars, but I'll live. Not one person could say that these two waves are anything but awesome.

  12. 1)With Vision 2.0 coming out soon, is it possible we will see the rest of the Young Avengers anytime soon? A box set of them would be just awesome! *Crosses fingers* lol

    DSTChuck: I don’t think so..

2)Is Black Widow (Yelena or Natasha) planned for any upcoming waves? They should be fairly easy to do with so many great parts available. The BSG Six's hair just screams Yelena =D

    DSTchuck: Not right now.

Do you guys think these are sort of loop whole questions? Like Young Avengers being in a wave(not boxset) or Black Widow in a Boxset(and not the regular line)?

They just really seem like they were too straight forward, which just seemed a little strange to me. Plus I really want Young Avengers and a Bblack Widow

  13. What I meant to say was that DST started taking on a bunch of new 6" figure licenses(Stargate, BSG, etc...) then it looked like they were going to put more into a new wave a buffy figures then BAMB, it was over. They never said anything, or made a formal statement until months later after everyone had already figured it out, for the most part they avoided all questions and ignored all they could. All I am saying is that DST is picking up a whole bunch of new licenses and coming out with an all new wave with highly wanted figures. Hopefully this time around that won't be the case.

  14. This is exactly how DST acted before they dropped the BuffyAngel line...

If there aren't any more Marvel Minimates I'll be so pissed I'll lead an army of Zombie-mates to take down DST personally

There are just too many characters who should be made before the end, and I'm pretty sure DST knows that. The recent Marvel waves have started to pick up, and each is cooler than the next. It would really be a shame to see this end.

  15. This weekend I picked up the may edition of Newtype(the anime magazine) and guess what I found?! An add for Marvel Minimates Wave 14!!! Although they had an article briefly mentioning Stan Lee at a con, I thought it was weird to find an add like this in a magazine that was unrelated to it.

    Picture113.jpg

Good to see Diamond is well expanded when it comes to marketing these. Have you guys caught any other adds for minimates in various magazines?

  16. Sorry if I sounded a bit mean in my post, I didn't mean to! I just wanted to make sure your arguments weren't without knowing some info.

I do agree with you AmazingJL, X3s bigest problem is that is was rushed. The focus on the movie wasn't always were it should have been and it definitly felt strange without Singer. Since X3 ranks number 5 in box office records hopefully they will get a better chance to fix these problems with a fourth movie.

That make me wonder, do you guys think Spidey 3 will hold the current record? Or do you think PiratesOTC 3 will break it like it did last year? I hoping Spidey keeps its spot.

  17. I loved X3, but you have to give this one to Spidey. There are just too many reasons not to......here are a few:

Acting: while X3 did have an Oscar winner, I would have rather seen the Oscar with weather powers. Outside of a handful (Hugh, Ian, Patrick, Kelsey) most of the cast of X3 were B-list at best. S3 you have Toby, Topher, Franco, Howard, Church...really the only bad acting in SM3 is done by Dunst. Advantage: SM3

Thats not really true Howard, Church, Franco aren't really A-list Celebs. Topher and Franco MIGHT be able to be considered A-list, The only true, most definite A-listers in SM3 are Toby and Dunst. I think the acting in both movies was pretty well done, I don't think there is a single bit of bad acting in either movie.

My vote goes to SM3 over X3. I'm not going to say it was better in everyway but to kill Cylops and give Storm/Halle a more involved role because she wanted it was really stupid; took it a big notch down for me. Cylops is the leader and it just didn't look right at all w/o him.

I agree with you here, X-men without cyclops is like PB&J without the Jelly. But it wasn't Halle's fault, James Marsden was off filming Superman Returns so he had limited time which is why the made the decision to have him dissappear in the beginning. Plus, we don't know that Cyke was killed for sure....they never showed it ;)
