  1. I ordered one, and it too arrived in post-Hulk-Smash condition. The card is bent and curled, and the bubble is separating from the card on the left and right. Fortunately I'm an opener and the 'mate is in fine shape, but it is annoying. I keep the backing cards from all my packages, so I'm somewhat bummed that this one - sporting a cool, colorful design - arrived ruined.

Maybe if you buy more than one, you get them shipped in a box? Can anyone comment?

Nope...I bought two and the packaging on both was both beat to hell

  2. Ok folks i'll try and give you much as I can remember but my facts maybe mixed due to the fact I saw this quite a few (ok many, many) years ago. I believe I saw this between 1975 and 1983. Not sure if it was a movie or tv show. I remember a guy being in some kind of outdoor jail/cell and a spaceship that hung (?) off the side of the earth. I think it was forbidden to enter this ship. The show centered around 2 guys and 1 girl. They would float/glide down long corridors. They reached the cockpit and the pilot was dead and had been for awhile. I want to say it was like a giant intergalactic zoo. It's been bugging me for year and more so tonight for some reason. Any information would be helpful so I don't think I was crazy.

Any chance it might be this?

  3. Gotta speak my opinion on BSG.

I collect all minimates. Having never seen a BSG show until yesterday, I bought them in the past with an open mind, thinking how cool the show must be in order to put a large number of toys in the market.

And then the show was watched........................................

After painfully wasting 1 hour of my life on bad scripting, bad acting, and bad effects, I now will add BSG into the crap pile of shows that are terrible that should have never had a toy line (i.e. Buffy, Angel, BSG, Dr. Who, etc., etc.).

I will buy them all because I collect, but I now will do it scoffing the whole time I am shelling out my duckets.

I know I am obviously a minnow amongst sharks in this thread, seeing that most of you are fans of the show, but before you eat me up, I had to put it out there...

Uh... thanks for sharing that.... I think... OK, not really.

Sorry you don't like BSG (or Buffy or Angel or Dr. Who)... would you like me to call Dr. Phil to help you work this out and give you a big hug? Since Britney canned him, I hear he's got some time open.

    Shhhhhh.........

    Does anyone hear this?

It is a post from someone that no one gives a shit about!

Instead of calling Dr.Phil, why don't you call the "Get a Life Foundation" and see if they will donate to your "I'm 40 and still type about toys", ***. The show sucks, that was just my opinion and you are now officially a ****** for this wack post.

Why don't you try to understand the difference between an opinion and a personal attack to the show that has obviously influence your meaningless life.

Relax, ***. It is just an opinion.

It is people like you that makes the rest of humanity look like were still living in caves and beating women over the heads with clubs. Having an argument is fine, it's natural for people to disagree. But to use that kind of language on a public forum is shameful and embarrassing. And that last line? That just makes this forum a dangerous place to be. That you feel the need to use a word that is outdated and shows just how ignorant you are as a person shows me that perhaps I'd spend my time better somewhere else. Sorry but this "fag" isn't going to relax a bit.

  4. I love that they are both wearing boots. Can you tell which one is really into it and which one is going through the motions?

It's like the really cheesy porn of the 80's when all the women had red high heels and the men had white knee socks pulled all the way up. Ooops, perhaps I've said too much......

  5. This thread has been nominated for Most Pointless Thread on the Internet. Let's all show our support by pretending it doesn't exist.

Sorry to add to this thread but you must not check out the DC Direct boards, lol.

    Is the above Bizarro provocation?

Funny you mention Bizarro, he was the first mate in the almost 100 I have that broke right out of the package...anyone need an extra Supergirl?....anyhoo, not provocation of any kind, but there was a topic over there recently about Linsay Wagners hair...or Farrah Fawcetts hair.....or something like that. At least here the insanity is happily kept to mates or characters that mates have been made of.

  6. I've also had some pretty good dealings with Enchanted Toychest. They have always been pretty good to me with discounting shipping prices all the way over here to Australia.

I just wanted to chime in with another boost for Enchanted Toy Chest. I've dealt once before with them on eBay and had fast and cordial service. This weekend I bought BSG series 3 using buy it now for the variant set. I was so excited about seeing it right out of the gates at a really good price that I didn't notice that he had the regular and chase Tyrol mixed up. So I sent him off a note and asked to make sure I get the right one. I got an answer right away and he promised I'd get the right one. Now I've had a few dealings with other eBay sellers where I questioned certain things such as regular figures being hawked as chase figures and have 99% of the time been told I don't know what I'm talking about and that I don't have to buy what I don't want. Just the simple fact that Scott took the time to get back to me (and so fast) makes me feel like the little bit of cash I spend with him means something. I work in retail and know customer service really makes all the difference in the world. Now he may not be the absolute cheapest out there (can't say for sure, I haven't checked) but he will get all of my buisness from here on out. Sorry for being so long-winded but I feel that good service deserves to be reckognized just as mush as bad service does.

  7. I just got home and I wasn't expecting any mail since I just got my Power Man and Iron Fist. Low and behold I got a hunt mate and a Cylon as well. ROCK ON DST!

I just got home and I wasn't expecting any mail since I just got my.......Lo & behold I got a Utility Bill & Junk Mail Variant .

I just shot coffee out of my nose. Thank you for the best laugh I've had in a while!!

  8. 'ello 'ello,

With some new pvc's and an Inara statue coming out is there any interest in Firefly/Serenity minimates? Would love to see a Zoe/Wash minimate set... oh yeah, and I still want a Laura Roslin mate! I know I'm beating a dead horse but it never hurts to keep the torch burning.

  9. Hey all! Just read this at Action Figure Insider...hope it's ok to share (with a nod to Julius of course!!)

From an interview with Georg Brewer of DC Direct

AFI: What does this deal do to things like the 13" line? The DC Minimates?

GB: Both lines will be continuing and many new upcoming figures are already in the pipeline.

    No Worries, 'mates all around!!!!

  10. ...When my niece was three I had taught her to recognize the cast of Star Trek. No matter what picture she was shown she could name Kirk, Spock, Uhura and gang....

Thank you for posting this. This is the perfect way for me to further torment my sister. :) It recently occurred to me that my nephews aren't geeky enough. I shall make each child memorize a different cast. Then they shall hold mock debates to decide which series is the best. Better yet, I shall record these debates then upload them to youtube for all the world to see!

That'll teach her to call me a geek. Victory shall be mine! :D

    I like your thinking!!!

  11. Just chiming in to say that I got a WWChicago 2005 white mate as did a buddy of mine. My niece is still waiting for hers. Thanks to DST/Art Asylum for the great freebies!!!!

My niece got a Retailer Summit. She is so excited. My sister keeps thanking me for helping her raise a toy geek.

I assume that she, like you, are being sarcastic. :P

More cheeky than sarcastic, lol. When my niece was three I had taught her to recognize the cast of Star Trek. No matter what picture she was shown she could name Kirk, Spock, Uhura and gang. My sister knew it was all over right there and then. Well, that little girl is 21 now and has a bigger Marvel Legends collection than I do. And now, thanks to the generosity of DST/AA she is well on her way to a massive mate collection.

And by the way, she's also on the "When the hell are we gonna get the Roslin/Zarek BSG set" bandwagon that I'm on. I hate to tell her the SDCC set is Zombies!!
