i swore off kickstarter after the whole deal with that asshole digger, i would really like one of those spawn figures too but i will not ever give kickstarter another dime as they dont hold the creators responsible for delivering on their promises.

not 100% positive but i think they've updated the policy a little.  that said, its always a risk  i still support kickstarters, just won't ever support digger ever again.  i should have known his was gonna go sour b/c it didn't meet the funding until the last second.  something tells me he put the money himself just to get over the line and be able to take everyone else's money.  i see him at sdcc every year but i haven't built the courage to confront him in person.  its not like he can magically pull the minimates out of his ass nor do i expect him to hand over the $130 or whatever it was.  plus he's always hanging out with friends of my boss so i don't want to upset that side of things either.  what's weird is i must have posted something he noticed b/c he was following me on instagram and would randomly like some of my posts.

    palZ X-Files 'Frohike' has a beauty of a liquor bottle which "I believe" is a J & B Whisky bottle .......sadly a blend:rolleyes:

In these dastardly times I have re-acquainted myself with my old friend "whisky " & we are getting along just fine

i'll have to look for that one.

and i actually had to give up scotch/whiskey b/c i get drunk.  so i switched to beer during these times b/c i can only drink two tops which will not fuck me up.  except for when i drank that 14% beer.  i was not expecting it to be that strong but i was pretty buzzed after one

How many seasons of Agents of SHIELD has ABC broadcast yet DST refuses to offer a SHIELD assortment even based on the comics?

If it were up to me, we'd have had army-builder 4-packs once a year, similar to the Crazy 88s. SHIELD, Hydra, AIM... Lots of accessories, alternate portraits, you know, take advantage of that mix & match play pattern to encourage multiple purchases.

And a carrying case that folds out to become a remote headquarters! And it smells like lavender...

hell, even the something like the luke's multiple man two packs i'd be happy with.  let me army build!!!  what's weird is there was an ad on instagram today for marvel legends hydra soldier army builders for $15.  i find it funny that with minimates we often pay more (not less) for army builders.

i bought about 8 of the crazy 88's pack.  yep, i'm that stupid.  sell me more like that.

all the ones you mentioned would work for me.

  4. i had forgotten about the nick fury/punisher one!!  nice reminder.

these games were fun to play with a group.

i got my wife to join me but as soon as it was done she was happy to get the heck outta there.

i downloaded the x-men one for ps3 so i had to dig that out for the first time in years.  i don't know if they ever offered any of the others.

i know they offered the simpsons one and at least turtles in time, not sure about the first acrade ninja turtles game.  damn it. now i want to find them.

  5. watched 4 episodes yesterday.  got me so hyped up for x-men i went and played the whole konami game (the arcade where you could be one of six characters and for some reason magneto was using the sentinels).

first episode was called "Weapon X, Lies, and Videotapes" which is an insane title for a cartoon (a take on "sex, lies, and videotapes").

guest appearances had silver fox and maverick, plus wolverine and sabretooth in their spy outfits i love so much.  next episode was a two-parter with bishop and trevor fitzroy (sp?) and nimrod.  it had the alternate future where the avengers are sent in to take on some mutants.  the next episode had morph morph into strong guy before he and wolverine went to take on sentinels.

yeah, that's why i loved it.  now, i did fall asleep in the fourth episode......which is probably a more appropriate reaction we should have but i was also drunk by then.

  6. well, hate to burst your idea.....but anyone remember when Digger Mesch (?) did his kickstarter for Agent 88?

he is (one of?) the creator(s) of minimates.

he had a reward a bunch of different ones.  i went for the most expensive one...........and got jack shit.

i reached out to him and he promised me a sketch to make up for it but never delivered.

he also said the minimate fans were the worst complainers about not getting their rewards.

he seemed bitter.  claimed art asylum was stolen out from under him while he was in asia or something.

what sucks is i never even got to watch the damn show/movie/whatever it was.

when peter mayhew (chewbacca) died i felt really bad about not getting this minimate

anyways, the goal of this one was a movie, not toys.  but i just don't know if there would be enough support to warrant making a custom for kickstarter.

it'd have to be dst's own property (or something like battle beasts i imagine) and then how many folks would turn up for a new property?

now, i'm no expert.  i know that one company did really well with bucky o'hare and then another company did a line that had madman and savage dragon in it.

    so ???

that said, i'd support any minimate kickstarter.

give me a fucking motorcycle base or a tiger.

    did

Anyone: How old were you when you were introduced to X-Men: The Animated Series and what did you like most about it?

I ask because I don't recall ever being able to get through an episode. On Halloween 1992 I was 26, married for one year, just had my first kid a week earlier, and found the show monumentally disappointing in both sight and sound. The appeal was lost on me. It probably didn't help that Batman had gotten a new animated series just weeks prior. That raised the bar for me and Fox's X-Men cartoon never came close to it.

So fans, what did you love about this show? I still see folks gushing over it thanks to Disney+. How has it aged?

oh its bad, but in a good way.  plots were over dramatic and over simplified but we got to see so much.

the designs and just seeing my favorite characters on tv was a huge deal.

oh course, right after it was the tick was holds up much better but whatever.  tick minimates wouldn't sell, would they?

  8. i'm personally thinking morph would be awesome.  as well as maybe some of the other 90's characters that for some reason have been skipped in the main line:  maverick, that spy looking wolverine (dept h? no idea) and some x-force charcters like Kane or Bridge.

colossus appeared in the same episode as juggernaut i believe (i have all the dvds).  plus captain america, i think war machine, punisher, spider-man -- i think they all had cameos.

Oh my friend you would be surprised as to what people feel entitled to complain about... especially at an event.

i was at a show where Jim Lee did sketches for EVERYONE in line.  and good ones too.  when DC capped the line while people were still running to get in line this one guy started yelling and screaming and called Jim Lee DC's bitch..........and it was a friend of mine.  oddly enough probably the nicest guy in the world.  Not sure what set him off that day.  probably seeing 50 people ahead of you all getting a Jim Lee sketch and not you.  I got a Flash.

A lot were given away by Nickelodeon, but I don't think the random con-goers who got them were saving them, or for the most part selling them. We were not able to promote the giveaway in advance. Many unhappy customers. Ergo controversy. It was brought up in another thread recently.

i don't think anyone has the right to complain about not getting a freebie.  i wish everyone could be made happy but that just isn't always going to be the case.

i would say some kinda heads up would have been nice.  ;)

can i ask what prevented you from promoting it in advance?

Sorry for the thread necro, but does anybody even have the trans. purple Donatello figure? I've been looking for one and haven't ever found it. I vaguely remember some controversy around the release so maybe it goes deeper than I thought.

Any insight (or sales) would be greatly appreciated.

cost me $35 on ebay right after that sdcc but i got one.  i was even at that sdcc and somehow missed it.  but i have the other 3 and it was killing me to be missing one.

It has been great! We have pre-sold around 300 of the 500 sets so far.

I am told it will match the packaging for the rest of the wave, with a LTS logo at the top.

That is a good idea about the bagged sets - I will have to ask about that!

if you can convert mine to loose please do --  for environmental reasons more than cheaper shipping.  hell, i'd let you keep the shipping difference.

  13. i went to a soccer match this weekend and they were giving away bobbleheads of a player to the first 5000 people.

apparently a bunch of people get into collecting bobbleheads through promotions like that.

i'm thinking a movie event like this would be cool.  just throwing it out there.  i know they do freebies at sdcc and nycc but i can't remember the last freebie (other than donatello and no one got that one).  but looking back, it was a freebie at toyfair that was my first minimate (the black larger one).  from there i bought a few here and there but then a free comic book day one got me really hooked.
