I like the idea of sending the Minimate card backs to DC's offices.

Does anyone have a mailing address for DCD?

I've pre-ordered every series so far and pre-ordered a case of series 8 last week (youbuynow.com has Series 8 cases for $66 that you can also use a 10% off coupon on to get essentially free shipping).

I've enjoyed all the characters so far and it seemed the character selection was intended to make the line last as long as possible.

If only one I would want...

Mr. Freeze/Ra's al Ghul (I could go for a whole series of Bat-vilians)

Modern Mr. Terrific/Black Adam (for the JSA)

Martian Manhunter/Atom (for the JLA)

Metallo/Scarecrow (can't go wrong with more villians)

But really I want the whole DCU Golden Age through Modern, with some Kingdom Come figures thrown in for good measure.

With series 8 due in June, DCD still has time left to show a 9th series. Word was that the DC mates were dropping back to three series this year and that could still happen.

If true, it's criminal for DCD to only give these a year before folding the tent. I say we do three things...

1) we buy series 7 & 8 like crazy, with sales being the surest way to gain attention.

2) we email DCD like crazy to urge them not to end it.

3) we email Diamond Select Toys like crazy to urge them to pick up the license and continue DC Minimates.

...and flood DCD's offices with nuts!

I would say that even if DCD decides to not continue their involvement, that DST would work hard to obtain the licence so that they could produce DC Minimates themselves.

i was a disappointed with clayface, he looks so cool but putting him in a good pose is a nightmare the chest really hinder's the movement

I was kind of suprised that DC sculpted his head, chest, and waist covering as one piece. A seperate head would have really added to the pose-ability of the figure. Besides the new Cyclons (and ladies with big hair), Clayface is the only Minimate I can think of that can't turn his head.

And it may just be me but it was a bit odd to see Grodd get a nose when usually Minimates are sans-nostrils.

I'm loving the transparent parts, I think the hole in the back of Ultron's head is to let light pass through so that his eyes and mouth are brighter.

The only nits I have to pick are that Ultron seems a bit small and that we're getting a rerelease of Hydroman set Spidey in this series.

Thanks for the support, folks! It's nice to see that thread getting bumped to the top of the forum by collectors as passionate about the line as I am.

While Brewer's comment wasn't unilaterally negative, it didn't exactly fill me with warm fuzzies. I know sales are the final determining factor in a business but the DCD board is in some ways their focus group. I LOVE the diversity of the line and can't imagine a character they'd offer I wouldn't be happy to add to my collection but obviously some will be more popular than others.

That's where I think they could use our input. Keep it coming from time to time, even if you're just copying from here and pasting there. It can't hurt and it'll show the line has a larger online support than the half-dozen regular DCD posters.

On the DCD board how many posts do you have to have before you can start a new thread? I ask because I'd like to add a DC Minimates visual checklist, that might entice new folks into picking up the line.

I think that photos overall go a long way towards introducing the line and in keeping the excitement level high over these figures.

DC Series 7 came out today.

I have an order from CSC that is waiting on the two Marvel sets as well but haven't received an email.

Might be able to get Barry by swapping in USAgent's head.

The Rocky and Platoon sets look amazing, I think I'm going to have to buy a couple of each and turn the sarge into the Superman baddy Bloodsport.

I'm thinking the skull could go towards making a pretty evil looking Atomic Skull.

sadly, i only got Batman/Clayface and Lobo/Ambush Bug tonight... somebody beat me to the other two, which i will pick up tomorrow afternoon after work.

Could you post some photos of Lobo and Ambush bug and some out of package shots of both sets if you get a chance?

Thanks boyd, I just discovered your customs site and was wowed by the work you've done.

Here is the Bat-Mecha I whipped up using parts from a couple of Exo-Force and Bionicle kits, a Minimate C3 Bat-Glider, and the pilot came from a Minimate C3 Bat-Wing.

I also added interchangable weapons that Bats could use to take on a future Mr. Freeze mecha with a heated ax or lava shooter...

...or he could add some Kryptonite armor to take down a rogue Superman...

...the back of the Bat-Mecha, with a removable jet pack.

The customer service rep then informed me that it was not AFX's fault/problem that the package did not get delivered to the correct address and there was nothing that they would be willing to do about it (like sending a replacement Xpress Pack to the right address).

I would contact them again and let them know that because you sent them the correct shipping address and they sent it to the wrong address, that you will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (bbb.org) and with their state's and your state's Attorney General's office.

I had a similar dispute with another company over a package that I never received, they wouldn't even return my emails until I sent them the message above. After that they were very eager to talk with me and try to sort out the problem. If AFX is still unmoved then do report them to both the BBB and the AGOs as they will try to work on your behalf to fix the matter.

I was playing around with my JSA Minimates the other day and began looking forward to seeing more members added in future DC waves. Using this Wiki link to the Justice Society member list...Who would you like to see made next?

Me, I think it's going to be interesting to see how they do Jakeem and Thunderbolt, I’m envisioning Jakeem coming with a pen molded to his hand and Thunder being translucent pink with a small flight stand as an accessory. And would love to get an android Hourman before the father and son.

Alright this is a deal I can do, I bought the Street Fighter two pack and paid about $16.75-ish. Which is about half of what Spidey was going for alone on the bay.

He'll no doubt be even cheeper at some point.

My girlfriend was lucky and kind enough to find a Scarlet Spider/Hobgoblin and a 24 exclusive pack for me yesterday at a Sam Goody. There she had a funny conversation with the clerk at the checkout counter...

clerk -"Wow these are cool! Who are you getting them for?"

girlfriend -"My boyfriend. He has about 200 of them."

clerk -"Does he keep them all in the packages?"

girlfriend -"No he has them all up on a shelf fighting each other."

Every exclusive? How many are pissing and moaning about the defenders set? Very few, pretty much unanimously everyone loves it and has been saying cool things about it.

My guess is that the complaints come because there's a betrayal (for want of a better word) in the offer, it's obviously there to get minimate fans to spend money, but not giving them many (if any) minimate way to do it. It would have been a lot more sensible (& fan friendly) to tie it into an offer on the Defenders set or perhaps ordering/preordering X amount of minimates.

I agree completely, folks aren't calling for an end to exclusives, they are calling for a fairer way to obtain the exclusive.

I think that the fact that AFX is willing to refund shipping on combined orders and damaged boxes shows that they are trying...on the other hand the fact that they didn't automatically discount shipping and that the boxes came damaged in the first place is a little head scratching.

Hopefully AFX is willing to improve service and if they are, sending their customer service department a link to this thread might be of help to them.

Me, I would like to order from them but their shipping and handling charges seem to me to be consistently higher than their competition (BigBadToyStore, CornerStoreComics, YouBuyNow). I also dislike having to enter in all of my billing information before I can see what the shipping cost is going to be (it feels like the display of the shipping cost is being intentionally delayed) while their competition lets me know right up front what the charges will be.

Do you mean series 6? (Bizarro/Supergirl, Blackhawk/Sgt Rock, Stargirl/STRIPE, Wonder Woman/Modern Cheetah)

Series 7 isn't due out until March 08.
