Exclusives tend to ruin the fun of collecting, and I quit collecting Legends back when they started doing exclusive waves at Target and Walmart (around the Fin Fang Foom wave).

Thank god nobody cares about Minimates and I can easily walk into Walgreens and buy as many full-priced Black Panther and Captain Marvel exclusives as I could possibly want in 2021.

I quit legends at the same time. Between the Target and Walmart issues and a lack of space in the apartment the only toys that stayed with me were my minimates... and then that blasted Psylocke with wth butterfly effect happened and here we go again...

It's almost like they lost a major mass market retailer and there was a global pandemic affecting production and sales.

Honestly, talk to Trek collectors about how long they've been waiting for the Enterprise C to be solicited.

You forgot a tariff war but solid burn on the Enterprise C.

    Episode 8 spoilers:

      Reveal hidden contents

with the end credits finally giving us the MCU version of the all-white Vision, I'm longing all the more for a minimate of his 'Vision Quest' look. And while we're at it, an updated release of his classic look. The original is looking pretty dated

It would be great to have some classic comic tie-in 'mates inspired by what this show has introduced

I have loved this entire series. Shame there’s no minimates but then again that SDCC  exclusive pack was a peg warmer around me so maybe that’s why.

I spent the past week making a bunch of G.I. Joe customs. I was going to make a few more this week but will change things up now and work on a different line of customs. This is such great news. Now if only DST could get the license to make Masters of the Universe minimates and make Thundercats minimates again since there a dozens of characters from Thundercats to make yet.

I agree so much left in the Thundercats world.

  5. The only thing people have been consistently asking for for a long time is DC.

besides that we have asked for basically anything and everything under then sun except for John Wick and Jackie Chan as evidenced by the cancellations.

It actually would be the most DST thing ever to announce Buffy Mates this week but I still think it’s DC related

I have lapsed occasionally ,notably the 'Pictures you do want to see ' thread but I have always considered it inappropriate to crow about the stuff that I have.  That is about to change .

Ohhhhh I am ready for this!

  7. About ducking time. It does look like a food site though. Not sure if it is ADA compatible but it definitely looks better in mobile.

I’m not completely disheartened since it seems like a soft rollout and they don’t really have anything “on sale” Minimates wise if you think about it. Series 80 was preordered a while ago and Series 81/82 haven’t gone up for preorder. The other Minimates that are available are exclusive to Walgreens. I wouldn’t read too much into it until wave 81 goes up for preorder and we don’t see anything there.

Good to know. Thanks for sharing the knowledge.

And with Minimates it's not just about scale but proportion. These block figures tend to be a little husky for some vehicles and short for others. The exaggerated, squat proportions of lines like Star Wars Galactic Heroes or Mission Fleet might work better.

? I’m going to have to block you if you keep giving me these great suggestions!!! My wallet can’t take it!

Actually, I'm far from alone. That doesn't mean no one liked but there are certainly many who agree with me.

When you say ratings, do you mean as in rotten tomatoes type ratings or do you mean number of people who watched it?

Picard gets 56% from the viewers on RT where the Mandalorian gets 91%.

They are touting how it broke streaming records on CBS all access. It's a very new service so somewhat easy to break records. And you have to take their word for it. Have you seen them report any actual numbers or just phrases like biggest premiere ever on CBS All Access?

The numbers this article links to are based on actual viewers in Canada where it aired on TV.  https://boundingintocomics.com/2020/03/05/star-trek-picard-viewership-plummets-over-half-a-million-in-canada/

It's possible that my dislike of the show and confirmation bias are steering me towards the Trek equivalent of flat earth conspiracy web sites but I don't think so.

Out of curiosity, did you like the show personally?

I too would love to complete the TNG bridge crew and an Enterprise D in the same style as the Enterprises we already have.

I’m going off the numbers from All Access which they did reveal to advertisers at a certain level and am focused on US (no offense). It’s interesting that there’s conflicting info but the book their media team uses doesn’t have the alleged drop to that degree. Rotten tomatoes is cute but not real in my evaluation. Given the production costs and the second season pick up I’m more inclined to believe that there was churn but not half the audience. It would be fascinating to see how it did globally and if the 2nd season was built into the original order. Also the whole future of the franchise is fascinating given Viacom V CBS.

Holding back from huge rant here. But that show was pathetic and I don't think it did well or would inspire much in the way of collectible purchases. Maybe I'm one of those toxic fans that you hear about but IMHO modern trek is not trek at all and Gene is probably spinning in his grave. I watched and enjoyed every previous Trek series and enjoyed them all. Enterprise had just finally found its stride when cancelled and was the last decent thing in the franchise.

I watched 2 seasons of Discovery. I'm done. Watched one episode of Lower Decks, done.

One season of Picard. Poorly written and extremely disrespectful to its origins. Done.

The people in charge of Trek these days seem to not understand Trek. I would not buy any products based on these new series no matter how good the product. Ok Maybe if they made a retro Warbird or Klingon ship so Kirk could have some space battles but that's it.

Anyone who feels differently, fair enough but Trek is basically dead to me at this point and I was a fan since childhood. I know I'm far from alone on this.

Anyhow, sorry for the negativity. I hope one of these days they make something that inspires merchandise purchases to the point where it triggers some retro-Trek mate product, including ships and aliens.

    Cheers.

It's cool to have different opinions. The ratings do suggest you are alone though. lol. Either way I want TNG mates as for me that is my Trek and it's frankly been too ignored by the DST team.
