  1. I saw this drawer organizer at Target the other day and it looks like it would make a good display shelf for Minimates. The price was $7.99 and it was on the aisle with coat hangers and other closet organization stuff.

It looked like you could get about 8 mates on a shelf if you staggered them front and back, so that would mean a possible 24 on the unit. See the label below for it's dimensions and and other info:

It should be a snap to put a couple holes in this and wall mount it if you wanted to.

  2. Went to my nearest TRU (Willowbrook for any locals) last night after seeing these had hit Dallas. I found one pack on the Marvel peg. The store was a wreck so I ended up walking the action figure section twice before seeing two more packs on a side kick (pegs on the side of an endcap.) Walked the section again and gave up on finding the last two I needed (Slimer and WSG) but then I saw a couple of employees getting ready to work out three or four reshop baskets. I asked if they had any and after digging a bit they kept turning up in there, finally after them finding six of them I had the other two I needed. I guess them ending up in those baskets might indicate kids picking them up, which is a good sign even though they weren't purchased.

Today I stopped at a different store (Westheimer) looking for Moonstone/Bullseye and saw a full case worth so I thought I'd share:

  3. Eh, see? I think this is what makes it fun. Thrill of the hunt and all that. How much fun is it really to just go buy something? It's much better to NOT find it, pull your hair out, scream, THEN find it, and love it all the more!

That may well be just me though. :)

I think you just need some more competition down there on the South side. All mate collectors seem to be up here in the NW of town. ;p

  4. i went back and didn't see it posted, but does anyone know the sku or one of the upc numbers for these?

    UPCs as follows:

    699788727065 - Leoben & Starbuck

    699788727072 - Apollo & D'Anna

    699788727089 - Adama & Razor Cylon

    699788727096 - Cavil & Tylium Mine Cylon

    699788727102 - Doral & Stealth Cylon

On the receipt it just lists them as BSG Mini Mates #1 next to each UPC.

    Good to know, Thanks!

    Glad to help.

  5. Pay him no mind he is from Texas. In Texas the is no such thing as a gun being too big. TM2 is this more of what you had in mind?

Having grown up in Louisiana with Bourbon St and drive-thru Daquiri shops it takes a bit to impress me, but I had to hang a u-turn when I saw this scene.

    Only in Texas ;) :

Excuse the camera phone pic, but please read all the signs closely. :D

  6. I found one on the other side of Houston. They said they had some. I'll try and get them and a few others for anyone here who wants some.

Damn. Were there any left after you got those? Just reading about this today and would have liked to have gotten a Chef.

I assume you went to the Galleria store?

  7. Now, how is Gambit a minority, exactly? Being a southerner?

He's Cajun. Told you one was a stretch...

Not as much of a stretch as you might think. Cajuns were officially recognized by the U.S. government as a national ethnic group in 1980 per a discrimination lawsuit (Roach v. Dresser Industries Valve and Instrument Division) filed in federal district court.

Very glad to see DST listening to collectors and putting the army builders in the variant packs. Thanks for that.

  8. what about picts of red son superman and wonderwomen though?

They look like DCD's catalog shots so I figured I'd concentrate on what hadn't been shown before. I haven't picked up my gear yet so I'll snap a pic for you in a bit. :)

Did Sinestro and Saalak come with lanterns? What accessories come with the Red Son figures?

Yes, they do come with lanterns. Same mold DCD's used before. RS WW comes with her lasso, but that's it.

Does Cyborg have a removable helmet?

Good question. Mine didn't budge easilly (might be glued?) and since it's thin in some spots (chin and "headband") I didn't want to chance tearing it. It's definitely a separate part so it could be removed by someone more daring than I.

  9. I thought I'd upload a few pics of the alternate/new pieces/parts from the new series. Put it in it's own thread so as not to bog down the other threads.

  10. I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but Raven has a second alternate face on the head like the Buffy Palz had. Very cool. :)

Modern Question may grow on me especially if it comes with a removable mask and hair piece to become a normal Renee Montoya.

Montoya has a regular head which is just turned around; no "mask". So you can display her with face or without. Hair piece and hat are one piece.

Edit: posted some pics showing the above in their own thread.

  11. Pretty nice results I think. The only problem is it's a white shirt. Nothing wrong with white, I just prefer dark shirts.

Have you looked at cafepress.com? You can do dark shirts there. Earlier this year I did some shirts, hats, etc through them for a diorama project that went to Star Wars Celebration IV. I didn't order any product myself, but I everyone who did said they were happy with the results. Your Spidey image looks like it would work fine. You may want to check that out.
