  1. It was 'too dark' according to 'everyone'. I don't know, I loved it in the theater as a 10 year old who had read the books. Sure, it was a little different, but whatever. The fact that it didn't make it to video until 1998 was crazy. I was hoping for a Chronicles of Prydain movie deal around the time Lord of the Rings hit big, but nothing every came.

  2. Disney movie - check

Older movie - not that old

universally loved - Nope, pretty negative response from what I remember

Oh well, not The Black Cauldron!

Taran, Eilonwy, Gurgi (like Snarf), Hen Wen (also Snarf sized), Doli (tiny figure add on), Fflewddur Fflam (went with more add ons instead of a 4th figure)

Orddu, Orwen, Orgoch, the Creeper (Snarfed), The Black Cauldron accessory

Vehicle - Horned King on a Horse

  3. All the Disney stores I visited as well (Grand Rapids, Milwaukee, Indianapolis) also disappeared. This along with the removal of Waldenbooks, Wizards of the Coast, Kay Bee Toys, and Suncoast....I hate going to the mall nowadays.

Milwaukee still has one at Southridge, just not at Mayfair.

  4. I'll be looking for someone to make tiny Guardians of the Galaxy communicator star decals when this wave hits! I think I've read more GotG Firelord books than I have regular Firelord.

  5. Found Series 2 at TRU in Milwaukee, WI this morning (27th street), love the 6 AM opening time, can stop on the way to work! Picked up the two exclusives

Morgan and Zombie Mike - UPC 699788100653

Lori and Zombie Terry - UPC 699788100646

Same number shows on the receipts.

  6. I found Wave 4 end of last week also (both 3 packs and coffin). You only need two of the 3 packs and the 12 pack to complete the set, which was nice!

Piece Mail Pete, COME HOME! All your friends are waiting for you.

  7. My Wal-Marts around here have mostly stopped carrying Marvel Universe figures, but are overstocked on the movie lines. One of the five Wal-Marts in my relative area still has them, and they haven't gotten a new wave in awhile. Hopefully Target doesn't skip on the Blastaar wave (he's the only one I want)!

  8. We got the Netflix added last night, that works really smoothly, and I (again) like the ability to switch the show to the gamepad. (I haven't had Netflix in over a year, and previously only had it on the Wii, and this is MUCH MUCH better!)

Holding off on starting New Super Mario Bros Wii U until my daughter and I can start together and go through whatever tutorials and instructions there are.

  9. The Gamestop wait list worked well for me, got a call on launch day to come pick up my deluxe system.

Ten days later, I'd say we're still breaking it in. First day was a nightmare of setup and system updates, and daily system freezes have been disappointing.

Nintendo Land has been a hit with the family. Grandma and Grandpa even played Mario Chase with my daughter and her younger cousin.

Super Mario arrived in the mail today, I'll get some time in with that tonight.

At this point, I'm holding off on buying anymore games before a rental trial and Redbox doesn't carry Wii U yet. The first Madden on a system always seems to have some issues, so I'll wait for next year. I'm not much of a FPS shooter player (motion sickness) so I want to rent some of those other games before committing the whole $60 to those.

I like the gamepad, there are a few games in Nintendo Land that can be played entirely on that, those are the games I've been focusing on. Internet browser works good for just general browsing.

    Nintendo Network ID is HackSlashInc

  10. I'm down to just needing Piece Mail Pete and I'll be caught up for series 1-3! I've got a few series 1 extras, I'll make a list this weekend.

Wave 4 seems to be trickling out and I found the Holiday wave at Target today. Now I need Wave 4 and Piece Mail Pete!

  11. Figured I'd update this topic with the newest reveal hot out of NYCC! 76005: Spider-Man - Daily Bugle Showdown $49.99, Piece Count: 476, Minifigures: Spider-Man, Doctor Doom, Jonah Jameson, Nova, Beetle What does everyone think?

I think I'm probably going to be paying someone $15 for a Nova figure! Well, maybe, I do like the building too. Maybe someone will be paying me for the other figures!
