  1. Among the hallmarks of 90s comics were giant rifles that looked like huge slabs of machined metal. I chuckled when solicitation images mistakenly showed Cable holding his weapon backwards but I became curious when Zach mentioned the gun would be glued to his back. I tried prying it off but, fearing damage to the chest piece, decided against it.

Now I need to know the tale of why this signature accessory ended up unable to be properly wielded.

    Oh, that was glued? Oops.

  2. Next week. DC releases their solicitations on Mondays (4PM Central), sometimes Image Comics on Tuesday mornings, Marvel on Tuesday afternoons. The Previews website ends up being updated later that week with all the info.

DC has just started releasing bits of their solicitations, so they'll go all out next week. Some sites may get a sneak peek of specific products prior to the full release though.

This is one of those months with 5 weeks between solicitations!

  4. Thane appears in a digital comic that was then published as a four issue mini called Thanos: A God Up There Listening.

At the end they said he's next going to appear in the cosmic event The Black Vortex.

(Really looking forward to The Black Vortex event, I was buying all the Marvel space books anyway, so glad to see them come together)

  5. Video Game Turok was different than comic Turok (younger for one), but I think at one point late in the original Valiant/Acclaim run they did a few video game comics.

I was big into Valiant for a few years of the original run, and tried the first couple years of this run, but ended up dropping it.

  6. Question: Right after the Ghostbuster Select announcement, it says something about more minimates. Does it mean more minimates in general, or more Ghostbuster minimates?

Specifically more Ghostbusters minimates. The article has an image showing "More Minimates" listed on the Ghostbusters slide.

  7. Diamond Select Toys is introducing several new products including new Reel Wear from film properties with plenty more on the way. They’ll be expanding kitchen ware, including TMNT, Godzilla, lunchboxes and things that will hark back to earlier times and be more “replica-based”. Aliens will expand to minimates, bottle openers, and a line of banks. Their new license is Predator, expanding to minimates, and bottle openers. More will be coming with Godzilla themes and My Little Pony. Nightmare Before Christmas is coming for Halloween in minimates, with the Jack promo for ComicFest 2014 but a full assortment in 2015. Kill Bill is already in shops but action figures are currently being approved by Quentin Tarantino. They’ll also be doing action figures for Pulp Fiction. Pathfinderproducts are coming, and also a Zenescope-approved Grimm Fairy Tales minimates set. There will be a full line of TMNT merchandise coming as well and blind-bag minimates. Their biggest announcement is select figures for Ghost Busters. Actual likenesses of the actors will be used, similar to Universal Monsters, the full set of collector’s items will only be available at comic outlets, not from other locations. They are looking to have a light and sound version of Electronic vehicles, more minimates, and banks.

  8. I'll still wonder if there's something involved with the Kirby family undisclosed settlement since that just happened.

Something like Marvel is clearing their plates of the FF, then gives the rights for FF back to the Kirby family, and that cancels the Marvel/Fox FF deal, then Marvel turns around and buys the FF back from the Kirbys for an undisclosed sum, or publishes FF via special agreement with the Kirby family.

Far fetched and probably not legal or able to happen, but sometimes weird things happen in comics.
