  1. Thanks for the heads up, CortherX. Still haven't opened it yet.
  2. Picked up Magneto/Zero and Deadpool/Dante today in Southern Ohio. Both sets are very cool and highly recommended. All four look amazing and the accessories are nice to have (four guns with the Deadpool/Dante pack!). I didn't see any QC issues with any of the packs at my TRU, so hopefully that's good news for everyone. While I was there, I also picked up a Stealth MAX Jet. It's freakin awesome, too. Great day for me and minimates.
  3. Now that I'm a member of the forum I can finally post and tell you what an amazing customizer you are! That Hellboy is EPIC. They all look great, but that HB really stands out for me. (Not to derail the thread...) Ever thought about making Abe Sapien?
  4. I know what you mean... I wish his extra pockets on his chest were an add-on belt instead of tampo, but I'd rather deal with that than spending the money on any other Deadpool. I thought Magneto had been perfected already, but this new one is just that extra step. Great job, DST. At first I was going to pass on MvC3, but these just look too good. And did anybody else notice Magneto comes with Megaman, Deadpool comes with Dante and Hulk comes with Haggar? A little alliteration to pick packing partners perhaps?
  5. minimate photostudio Hey everybody! The minimate photostudio is my love song to minimates. I've been collecting them on and off since the beginning and lately have really wanted to do something creative with them. I thought about doing a comic, but decided on making iconic photos of our beloved blockheads. I noticed a lot of the people with minimate fan sites (Luke's Toy Store, Portrait of an Addiction, Tales from the Minibar, Minimate Theatre, Shots from the Minibar) all have threads at the MultiVerse about their sites, so I figured, why not? MINIMATE PHOTOSTUDIO is still pretty new, so a lot is still changing and improving. This will be my place to announce any blog news, updates or whathaveyou. I'm hoping to keep the studio growing and getting better and better. Any comments are greatly welcome! Also, if you run any of the minimate fan sites and want to trade ad space, I'd be happy to oblige. Just send me your button and I'll send you mine. Thanks for looking!
  6. Thanks, for looking and for the welcome Karamazov!
  7. I can't believe people are asking for MORE Wolverines, but do you mean besides the one in the MvC3 Series 2 2-pack? Because that's pretty up-to-date, right? Also, I just found out that Wolverine comes with his mask in the Curse of the Mutants box set (AND has the mask-off hanging cowl bit, as well), and if you don't mind the fangs he's petty much a modern Wolverine figure. Ha. I guess I should clarify a little. Don't get me wrong, MvC3 Wolverine looks awesome and is pretty much up-to-date. The only thing he's missing is the X on his chest, but that does not bother me. I'm just saying, if I get Wolverine vs Viewtiful Joe, will I get another modern Wolverine packed with modern Cyclops in a modern X-Men wave a little later? Or should I not be so picky since I love Wolverine and I love Viewtiful Joe? Fine, Zach, you convinced me. I'll just buy it and still hope for more modern X-Men later... even if it means I'll end up with multiple modern Wolvies. Ps- more Viewtiful Joe mates would be so radical! I would love to have Alastor as a minimate.
  8. Congratulations, Bob! I have little to no idea what you're talking about... but it sounds smart and like a lot of hard work. How much more to get your PhD?
  9. Less than what you paid for it The trading card makes a handy single-use ice scraper for your windshield, though! Haha. Yeah pretty much what I figured. There were a ton of cheap books, so I just grabbed a couple that had characters I liked prominently on the front (this one with Cable, another one with Beast, etc). Wasn't until I got it home that I even realized it was even supposed to be a collectors item. Maybe I'll finally open it up and see how terrible the comic is... then again it's kind of funny to keep it pristine in it's bag like it isn't just crap (with a 25cent sticker on it)
  10. Is it weird that I'm most looking forward to J Jonah Jameson and Aunt May out of these?
  11. Thanks for the info Mirymate. I don't keep up on Hulk so I never knew Rulk was Gen. Ross. I actually just figured he was a different version of Banner... like how Superman is affected differently by green and red kryponite I thought Hulk was just red as a reaction to something different. Anyway I wouldn't mind a new version of Ghost Rider, though like others here, I only like him for his visual elements. Don't really like or dislike the character but there's something cool about a guy in a leather jacket with a flaming skull for a head.
  12. At first I was planning on skipping all of the MvC3 mates, but they are really starting to impress me. Akuma looks amazing. Modok is excellent as well. Thor's new cape and hammer are fantastic. Will we get a modern Wolverine costume in a regular Marvel line? I'd love to get all of the X-Men's current looks at some point
  13. BoomBoom and Rictor (why couldn't he spell his name right?) actually make me want to go back and buy Cannonball, Shatterstar and the other X-Force members I originally passed on. Punisher and Kingpin look pretty good. I'll probably swap Kingpin's head with the original wave 1 Kingpin for more character, though. Moonstar and Magma look good, but I'll probably pass. Not to get too far off topic here, but I have a "1st issue collector's item" edition of X-Force #1 with a trading card pack-in. It's never been opened and I only bought it for 25cents. Any idea if that's worth anything?
  14. It actually was an Animaniacs reference, Geohound. I can't help myself when it comes to referencing my childhood. Any time someone offers me a napkin, I have to reply with a "...what for?" You've got some great stuff on your dA account too
  15. Thanks everybody! I've put a lot of work into finding and honing my art style. Photography is a little newer to me ...especially at the mini scale. It's kind of funny to think that any of us tried to limit our collecting to just X-Men, Avengers or any one team... though for now I am sticking to just Marvel. But even that would change if they ever got the license for Hellboy or Power Rangers or Ninja Turtles. Anyway, thanks for the warm welcome to your club!
  16. Hello, Multiverse! I've been watching this site for a while and I figured it was finally time I just joined and became a part of the 'verse. A brief history of myself... I got in to minimates at the very beginning. I was in high school then and I got both the Ultimate X-Men 5 pack and Spider-man 5 pack back when those were a thing. I was hooked. Unfortunately, I tried not to buy duplicates, so I still actually don't have Carnage or Ultimate Jean (who were left out of the 5 packs). I bought the Daredevil and Hulk packs, the first Captain America, Ironman, and Fantastic 4, but then I fell out of mates for a few years and got in to Mighty Muggs. When I got back in to mates, I tried to only buy X-Men figures to save money. That's how I missed out on Mysterio, Hawkeye, Shocker, Kraven, Red Skull and so on. Now I realize what a fool I was and have been collecting more broadly since then. Lately, I've felt the urge to do something creative with my love for minimates, so I started the minimate photostudio. I plan to update a few times a week and see what it evolves in to. Right now it's mostly pin up type images, but I'm planning some more interesting ones for the near future, so please check back often. Other quick facts I mostly collect minimates, but I have a solid Mugg collection and two Marvel Legends figures (Beast and Astonishing Wolverine) and two Marvel Universe figures (Thor and Cap). I've now been married for two years to the love of my life. Together we own an Etsy shop. I'm an artist by trade. I have both an art blog and a deviantART if you're interested. Thanks for reading! - nate
