  1.  Didn't Zach say a while back, that 2017 would be relatively heavy on villains? I can't remember the thread, but I seem to recall something like that being said. Regardless, unmade characters are always welcome, so yeah, bring it on! A few more hints wouldn't hurt though... :whistling:

  2. From the recent AskDST:

    Jaylen C.
Will you guys do a Minimate wave where there is a Robbie Reyes and Johnny Blaze 2-pack?

DSTChuck: I suppose it’s possible one or the other will show up in 2018, but I can’t guarantee you’ll get them both in one pack.

     From a previous one:

Hey there! As we all know, the Netflix Marvel Shows are in full swing, and recently, Marvel’s EiC Axel Alonso said that going into 2017, the street level characters (Daredevil, Punisher, Moon Knight, Misty Knight, etc.) will get more focus than ever. So, with Defenders and Iron Fist (plus maybe Punisher) also hitting in 2017, I was wondering what are the chances of you doing a “Marvel Knights” wave. I was thinking something like this:

    LCS:

    ANAD Daredevil/ NOW! 2.0 Bullseye

ANAD Misty Knight (as she appears in the Sam Wilson book)/ Ghost Rider (Reyes)

ANAD Luke Cage/ ANAD Iron Fist (Power Man & IronFist Outfits)

    Armored/Balaclava Punisher (w/th extra t-shirt parts)/ Mr. Knight (w/th extra Khonshu head)

    TRU:

Ghost Rider (Blaze & Ketch Parts)/ NOW! 2.0 Elektra

    Thanks for reading!

DSTChuck: We have been talking about a wave like this of late, so I think something like it could be very possible in the future.

I won't make any guesses, because the clues are far too few, but street-level characters are a very big possibility now. I just hope MK & GR are included. But if I was forced to, I imagine TRU 24 would be something cosmic related (can kinda tie-in to Thor & GotG, but without overlaping with any product) and the 4-Pack could be some Spider-Man villains. I remember Zach saying this year would feature lots of villains.

Hopefully they're saving the mystical elements for The Defenders.

That's very likely, but it's also the reason IF failed/is failing/is gonna fail/whatever. They pulled all the magical stuff from the IF mythos to dump them into the Defenders book. The Brubaker vol was perfect for a film/tv series, but they blew it with their whole "realism" thing. Zombie Ninjas didn't work that well over at DD, so I guess they figured they better go all "dark n'gritty" on it.

  4.  Apart from that nonsense, the reviews all agree that everthing else is mediocre as well. The choreograpghy is bland, slow and doesn't immerse you, the writting is so-so, Danny is not fleshed out, etc, etc. Really, the signs were there. No costume, no magical elements, extremely grounded story, etc, etc. It's basically Arrow, but less good. You can't do IF without magical elements. There's a reason the Brubaker/Aja/Fraction vol is regarded as the best one...

Sorry people are disappointed. I'm happy we're getting to all the Netflix shows we are, but hey.

A second IF set is of course possible down the road, but I think this is only the second time we've worked on a set before the show has come out, so we work with the reference we have.

Yeah, I figured it was a case of not having info from Marvel. It's just a tad dissapointing, since MCU flicks/shows rarely get second chances. The boat on NF Ben Urich has sailed, for example. No biggie, and the extras could make it all worth it, but the other NF sets just set the bar too high. For me anyway.

How are these kitbashed Danny Rands?

Yes, it's the first time we've had two of the same character in a Netflix set. But as stack said, for screen accuracy, close enough may not work for the licensor.

Well, because both Rands look like something I could put together in 5 seconds by using spare parts from my bin. I'm not privy to the BTS stuff, so it may be a case of Marvel not revealing too much info, or you guys planning a second IF box-set, but compared to the other Marvel Netflix shows, it ommits lots of the key players. Madame Gao, Hogarth, any of the Meechums, Steel Serpent, Bride of Nine Spiders, all these are in the show (the villain may not go by SS, but he's in there, and you can see BoNS in that cage fight), yet we're getting two Rands, none of which are in the costume. Compare that with the DD or JJ sets which gave us almost all major players, and you can see how it can be a bit dissapointing for a longtime collector.

Accessories are not shown. And if Matt and Danny share a shirt, how can they get lunch together? Think, McFly.

Fair enough then. I thought that since it was such a barebones release, Shirtless Rand could just be an alternate look for Suited Rand, given the amount of acessories the other NF sets had.

Anyway, I guess I'll have to wait until more info is released.

  7.  The last few times all the extras were on display, so I don't think we'll be getting anything else. Even the other MM releases have their extras showcased (Parker gets the mask and bag, Wolvie gets his hairpiece, etc).

And yeah, we don't know anything about the BTS stuff, but compared to the other sets, this is significantly weaker.

  8.  Considering Hero Deadpool and Mascot-Pool all had extra torsos with arms, hands & head, they could've just included the torso and the "iron first", plus the extra feet. This set is light on acessories, especially compared with JJ, so it wouldn't have been that much of a stretch. As for the pants, eh, black pants aren't hard to come by. Netflix Daredevil had an extra chest block, head, tie and coat. The JJ set had an extra set of arms for every character. I imagine it'd be fairly easy to make "Fighting Rand" an alternate outfit of "Suited Rand".

     Look at these:

    pack1490i_lg.jpg pack1491i_lg.jpg (Hail Ivan)

The extras are a crapton in the JJ set. Maybe the IF 4-Pack has some acessories they can't show for story purposes, but two Rands in a set with none of them customed doesn't excite me. They could've at least gone for his Monk look as seen in the trailer.

For most cases I would agree with you, but I feel like Guardians was a property where I thought the comic following was so small it was insane to make a movie out of it. When it hit and became popular, I can see why more people would want the movie versions first. Still I hope we get the comic book versions as well.

Pre-Movie yeah, I never expected to see a complete team. But 3 years later, with the Guardians as a household name, the fact that we don't have the comic book team, even the NOW! versions, is weird. Especially considering we have GotG versions of Iron Man & Venom, plus Angela & Captain Marvel. We have the extra members of the NOW! vols, except the actual main members!

  10.  Well, that's... a weird line-up. At first I assumed the 4th fig would've been Iron Fist in his costume, and the 3 we'd see would've been some of the key players in the series, but this selection leaves me scratching my head. We've known that Madame Gao, Hogarth, Meachum & Zhou-Cheng would be in the show since the beginning, so why bypass all of them? They were civvies sure, but all the Netflix sets feature civvies for the most part. No matter what the fourth fig is, two QC Rands ain't my definition of good selection.

Maybe it's a case of DST wanting to do the box-set too early and not getting enough material? Like in the flicks where they don't have concept art or knowledge about all the villains and whatnot. That's the only reason why I can think of that we're getting kitbashed Danny Rands.

PS: With a head & hair swap, you can get a fairly comic accurate Coleen though.

  11.  Homemade Suit & Battle-Damaged are the only ones missing, alongside the Iron Man/Happy TRU Pack, so yeah, I'm good. I'll get Vulture, but I'm sitting this one out. Nothing wrong with them, it's just that the villains are unrecognizable and the civvies are rather bland, so...

PS: Anybody think it's weird that Aunt May looks like an MJ fig? I get the whole "age-gap" thing, but couldn't Marvel have gone with the Ultimate route and made her hair white/silver? Just to make her stand out a bit.

Donald and Goofy are in their KH gear, but Jafar, Tron and Sark are pretty movie-accurate.

Netflix Iron Fist set (3 of 4 figures), GOTG2 Ego and Ayesha, Spidey Homecoming (6 of 8 figures)

I was hoping for classic versions, but I'll take anything Disney Duck related.

I imagine it's the costumed IF that's left out. I was hoping for some Ragnarok news, but I'm looking forward to seeing Homecoming's Vulture.

Sorry people are disappointed. Hopefully people realize this is another step in that direction, and success can mean more doors opening.

Vinimates are still newish, but they are gaining in traction with new licensing, and retailers are definitely responding, we have some good ones on board.

I'll push Chuck for a Giganta or Chemo or Atom-Smasher, so the DC fans have something to add to their displays. :D

Can't wait to show you guys Kingdom Hearts, but it can't be shot yet. Hopefully soon!

So KH is the VG license? Well, congrats on whoever mentioned it first. I can't say this makes me go nuts, since I never got into JRPGs, but hopefully it'll give us some cool looking classic Disney characters.

Bummer about the Vinis, but eh, baby steps are better than no steps. I'd take an Anti-Monitor, truth be told.

Are there any new Marvel stuff to be shown?
