I'm just scared since ganke apparentlY was casted that they're wanting to eventually have Miles. I'd be alright with having both I guess but for the love of god don't kill off peter we just got a decent one.

Well, considering they renamed him Ned Leeds, but apparently kept all of Ganke's personality and appearance, I'd say they just want to have the best of both worlds. Dunno how this will work though. From what I remember, the first trilogy will be in high school with one movie taking place in one year. Essentially they've gone the Ultimate route, kept Ganke and then sprinkled in all of Peter's 616 bits. And I ain't a fan of that. Those early 60s High School issues were boring AF. College Peter was much more interesting. But between Slott's run, Marvel's relaunches and now this lame movie move (for me, anyway), I ain't that interested in the Spider-Verse these days. Superior was the last breath of fresh air, with Carnage delivering a solid "Tomb of Dracula-esque book.

  2. ...I'm just in it for Keaton, really. I don't care for the Ultimate Spider-Boy direction, I don't care for RDJ's Stark at this point, because all the MCU has done for Tony is make him a struggle to read about if you exclude the glorious Fraction run (and that's mostly on Fraction, because he got Tony), and I don't care for the High School setting or Gank-oh, sorry, Ned Leeds. Props for introducing Liz and the like, but scrawny "Academic Rival" Flash ain't my cup of tea.

So, yeah, bring on Keaton-Vulture and I'm set. Maybe Shocker, Tinkerer and whoever else suits up.

That's EXACTLY what it is.  I could never describe the series in so few words.  Ya man...the most most squeamish read of the whole series was definitely Psychopath.  The webcomic Wish You Were Here has a nice slow burn to it too and I would say that's probably my favorite of the series.  I read all 100 issues of Badlands, but only remember one Arc at the moment about a comic book writer held prison in a local comic book store, but ya plenty of neat short stories there.

I tried reading Moore's Crossed 100 years after (or whatever it's called)...I am not smart enough or patient enough (or more likely both) to get through the dialogue which has this weird future update to it.  I get that in 100 years we won't be talking with our current syntax, but ya I got tired of it quickly and quit 2 or 3 issues in.

I can't comment on the stories as I haven't read anything besides a few shorts on various boards, but Crossed is one of those books that you either love or despise, there's no middle ground.

It might be too gruesome, but maybe minimates could do a Crossed minimates line.  It's a super sadistic comic (max zombies is almost at that level of gore, savageness, but the Crossed are more extreme).  The original run, webcomic, and psychopath series were all addictive reads.  Badlands is a 100 issue series that just finished and the stories were hit or miss but I appreciate complete story arcs being told (or being attempted to be told) in 3 or 4 issues.

I pity the fool who'll go into this book expecting standard post-apoc stuff. I ain't a squimish guy when it comes to books (movies are a whole 'nother matter), but Crossed is one of the few things I can't read. I kinda appreciate the whole social satire part, and I'd like to make it through the Moore issues some day, but man, does this comic feel like a snuff film in print form.

I would really like to see the Presidents all made into MiniMate form.

Someone did a custom Barack Obama and I would love to see George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Thomas Jefferson, Teddy Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy and the rest all made in MiniMate form.  I guess that is just the geek in me.  But I think Historical MiniMates would be a great thing.

I would even go as far and saying Biblical MiniMates would be interesting as well.   Adam & Eve, Moses, David & Goliath, Jesus (not the Dashboard Jesus either) and even a Nativity Set all in MiniMate form would be cool.  Noah and the Ark full of MiniMate Animals would be a first and so cool.

But I would like to see More Star Trek MiniMates as well.  I will never get tired of asking for more Star Trek MiniMates.

Luke did an Obama I think, he sold him at the store for a while, if I remember correctly. Either way, I wouldn't mind a "Historical" line. Da Vinci, Washington, Michaelangelo, Alexander, Rasputin, Beethoven, all that jazz. It'd be pretty great I'd say. I'd also buy a Nativity, truth be told. It'd be pricey, but it'd make a nice decoration.

For my money, I'd like to see some mates based on East of West. Great designs, awesome book and even better characters.

  5.  Hmm, well, that's a hard one. There are tons of minimates that I adore, and a whole bunch that I really, really like. So naturally, depending on the day you ask me, my answer may vary, but... if you put me in a corner today and told me to pick one, I'd go with...

    Superior Iron Man-AXIS Wave 62

I didn't particularly care for the storyline, as it was evident that Marvel was just killing time until Secret Wars, but still, I loved the armor's look, and the minimate is a perfect translation. The glossy colors, the overly detailed tampos with little sulpting to capture the slimmer nature of the Endo-Sym armor, plus, that tampo, make it an excellent figure. Mine's closed helmet got destroyed and I've been trying to replace it since, but even with the "face-mask", it's one hell of a figure.

As for the "Toys for Tots" charity I won't be able to participate due to the nature of the donations (overseas shipping and all, plus, I've already given the majority of my old toy collection), but I'll make sure to add some more to the annual charity I give to (there's a group here called "The Child's Smile", which deals with abused, orphan or even just sick children, but the foundation has hit hard times recently) in honor of this. Thanks for a great year full of giveaways!

*Runs off to post a Wants/Haves list.

  6.  I have to agree that these NF shows get worse each time. Not worse as in "awful", for example what's happened to Arrow, but nothing has topped DDS1 so far. I have high hopes for Punisher, and Iron Fist, but I feel Defenders may not be the Second Coming of TV that many are expecting it to be. They need to broaden up a bit, I'd say. The street-level "science-based"realistic characters worked as an introduction, but Phase 2 of NF should include Moon knight, Blade, Ghost Rider, and in a perfect world Carnage.

  7.  I also loved JJ, but they tangled with Kilgrave what, two, three times before catching him? It was almost like a Saturday Morning Cartoon where Doctor Claw escapes to get revenge another day. Plus the siblings... It was great, but it had some problems.

  8.  Hmm, well, apart from my close family, I'm also extremely grateful for the American/British Colllege Textbooks, because trust me, when you have a ~4000pg syllabus in 6 different subjects with a deadline of 3 months, you need all the help you can get. And especially when the professors are awful, those textbooks are your holy books...

Dunno what a "turkey" is, but I think it's like, a breed of Gobble-Gobble? In that case, here's my Gobble-Gobble. I call it, the Gobble-Gobble of...DOOOOOOOOOM!

    1NbfgT1.jpg

As for why my Doctor "Gobble-Gobble" Doom isn't wearing green, well... he's wearing his fancy Future Foundation suit. Yeah, that's it!

PS: Of course I know what a turkey is. I'm making a reference to an old Asterix & Obelix comic.

  9.  From the new AskDST:

    Ricky G.
Hello DST, I’m a big Power Rangers fan. There is a new Power Rangers film coming out in March of 2017. The trailer was released about a month ago. It has been getting positive reviews. I know I asked this question before “Will you guys be making Power Rangers Movie MiniMates?” But now I want to ask this. What would it take for you to make Power Rangers 2017 Movie MiniMates? Thank you for taking the time for reading this question. I’m looking forward to your response.

DSTChuck: Ricky, I think the Power Ranger license is pretty locked up by Bandai.

So I'd say Power Rangers is not our movie license.

    Frank P.
Hello again! First off let me say that the stuff at NYCC looks incredible and I am already throwing my money at my pre-orders! Also, really jazzed about the upcoming release of the Marvel Most Wanted wave.
My question is a quick one. With the upcoming release of two of Stephen Kings Classics on Celluloid, is there any chance of getting a Dark Tower or It set? I would settle for a box set of both if I can have Roland fight Pennywise!! Thanks again!!!

DSTChuck: I can say we have looked at Stephen King before, so we’ll just have to see what is possible.

Not an affirmative, but Dark Tower is coming out next year, is a fairly well-known book series and will possibly have some interesting designs. It could work...

I'm still betting on Mortal Kombat being the VG license though.

  10.  I'm still at ep5 and I'm just... not feeling it. Cage is engaging, Cornell, Shades and Misty are interesting, but the story is kinda drab and it feels like most scenes are filler. Even JJ, which was filled of filler, managed to be more engrossing. Dunno, maybe the next season will be better. But this is easily the worst of the NF shows for me. It's not awful, but it's not up there with the others. Personally speaking at least.

There's a big movie license coming for 2017. The video game is pretty big, too.

    But yeah, neither is Marvel.

    314.jpg

I'd die of happiness if they were DCEU & Injustice 2, but that's not gonna happen... Anyway, other big name movies that aren't Marvel, DC or Fox are Transformers, Star Wars, PotC and Power Rangers. PR seems the most likely, but dunno. As for Video Games, I'm gonna agree with NerdyTrev and go with Resident Evil as well.

PS: Thanks to the Dr.Strange wave, a Hannibal mate is now a reality!

Thanks for being a good sport about this. I wanted you to see the pumpkin, and figured this was the best way to get it to you.

Thanks for thinking of me! Moon Knight has definitely risen on popularity the last few years, thanks to Ellis' reinvention and Marvel's push. He's no Daredevil or Luke Cage yet, but his star is rising. With a Netflix show being inevitable (I mean, come on, it could be their Mr. Robot), I imagine we'll be getting that sweet 4-Pack any day now...

Kidding aside, it's a cool pumpkin. I see tons of comic designs on Tumblr and while the overly complex ones are impressive, something that simple has a certain elegance to it. I might try it this year myself, truth be told.

PS: Oh, and, because it's a Moon Knight thread... The sales are actually pretty great this time around. It's selling above the 40K mark, and that's only from the Diamond numbers. So, uh, any luck in getting a NOW!/All-New NOW!/ANAD MK? I mean, an ANAD Wave with MK in there would surely be the bees knees... Maybe you could make him the Variant, with the Mr. Knight look getting an extra Khonshu head. Just sayin'... yeah, yeah, I know, I'm a broken record, but it's an MK thread, it'd be weird not to bring it up...
