  1. The Best: Classic/Tiger Stripe Wolverine! IMO, the best 'Mate ever made! He just looks exactly like the comic version.

The Worst: Mariko. Honestly, WTF? She was an absolutly pointless character in the comics, and she ended up with a figure before Thor did! The paints apps (in the words of Danny) look like they were slapped on with a wet towel, and everytime you pick her up, she falls apart! I have sticky-tac put in every socket, and she still falls apart!

  2. BTW I'm giving up on spoiler tags as several have let it out openly in this thread.

Yeah, I've been trying to not reveal anything outside of a spoiler tag, but I think the news is pretty much out now. I can't believe Captain America was a communist. *sob*

Kidding aside, I don't think Tony and gang tried to have him killed, nor do I think they were in on some faked-death plan. Based solely on what I've seen in the books, I think Nick Fury was trying to free Cap using Agent 13 and Winter Soldier, be it part of a faked death or something else, however, Crossbone beat him to the punch, with Faust providing the assist via some mental manipulation on the person closest to Cap. We still don't know what Doom and Zola brought to the table yet, do we?

But at the end of Cap's book, we see him with an eye still open and still hooked up to machines, which doesn't seem like something a reputable hospital would do, especially on such a high profile person. Plus, we have Ms. Marvel, who is Tony's right hand pretty much, saying that Cap isn't dead, but rather has been spun that way while Tony's people try to save his life. Remember, we've seen the news say he was dead, but no doctor announce his death specifically.

It's a long time comic book rule: no one can ever be truly dead until you've seen their autopsy.

And even then, they probably end up coming back anyway

  3. Stupid, porn-crazed hobos come up with the best games for minimates.

Seriously though, the only person who ever takes an active interest in my minimate collection is my little brother. 19 years my junior, Jacob has become a bit of a collector/customizer too. Lacking the artistic skills and equipment to adequately create a new character, he usually resorts to part swaps and the occasional Sharpie to make people. Granted, his people are never based off of actual characters and they all seem to have the same powers ("all the powers except for Wolverine's"), but he tries. He's just now gotten to the point where he'll stop destroying the figures I give him and instead use the spare parts he's acquired through me, meaning his collection has, in tact, Human Torch, Invisible Woman, Powerhouse Thing, Racer X, Sandman, Ben Reilly, the New Avengers 4 pack, the Astonishing X-Men 4-pack, Beast, Kitty Pride, Ghost Rider, and Daredevil. I could hammer off quite the list on destroyed characters he has, including the exclusive Punisher, plus custom Shocker, Hobgoblin, and Scarlet Spider. He almost got a Symbiote Spider-Man, but I second guessed myself and ended up selling the extra figure to Logan (here's hoping he took better care of it  )

As for my collection, he knows that some figures are more important than others and thus he knows which ones to take care of and which ones he can go to town on in a good ol' fashion minimate beatdown. Variants and customs are handled more gently by his 6 year old hands, while newer releases and wide release figures can handle his style of fighting. I do cringe a little when I see him slam two minimates together, but deep down, I know there's no damage he can do that I can't fix and that I never planned on selling any of the ones he plays with for profit, so there's no harm.

I received my first commissioned order this past week, from Jacob of course, for a minimate Danny Phantom. I still have to clear coat the figure then take a picture before giving it to him, but part of me wonders if it'll survive the test of time.

You little brother reminds me of mine. He takes good care of the extras, but once you turn your back, BAM, part swaps(which usually result in missing parts) galore! But other than that, he's been good with a couple of his, notably Spider-Man and Sandman. Oh, Drgn, I have definitely tooken good care of Black Spidey. He and Classic Wolverine are the prizes of my collection!

  4. Hey, if you don't mind, I stole one of your Sting's for my avatar. Also, I have two requests:

    Lemmy Kilmister from Motorhead

Sting based on this picture(you can pose him however you like), with facepaint based on this picture. Also, if you do Sting, I'd like the NWA Belt to be on him somewhere(shoulder, waist) please.

  5. Good luck mate.

I used to smoke a lot too. I'd easily get through 20 a day. it's bloody difficult to stop so do yourself a favour and get some nicotine gum or microtabs or something. The patches are okay, but I found the gum was better as I'd hold out against the cravings for as long as possible before having a piece. Tastes like shit, but then so do fags. (cue much hilarity amongst the yanks for that) :D

I wouldn't know, I don't smoke nor swing that way(not that there's anything wrong with that.)!

There, someone had to say it!

All kidding aside, good luck Ady, my father has tried to quit twice(both times failing miserably), and it was hell around my house while he was going thru that, so your family has my sympathy ;)
