I think my first pack was a Rhino/Captain America. I drove back to Tower Records that night and bought up every other character. These have been called "plastic crack" for good reason. Welcome to the Boards! This is a great community - kind of like Minimates Anonymous for the trurely addicted.

All your base belong to Cornelius. Actually, I meant "cheap white plastic figure". Like some of the Speed 'mates.

I heard this year's Retailer exclusive will be a Cornflakes Rooster Minimate with a huge nose, missing tampo painting on a cheap white plastic base, and two broken legs. (Just kidding, AA lurkers!)

The quality is the same as the earlier, high-quality batches. They do not have the following issues: Tampo Painting - This was an issue with the New Avengers Toys R Us set. Mainly Sentry and Riot Attack Spider-Man. Fused Joints - This was an issue with the Target Nightcrawler hips/legs from the Nightcrawler/Colossus 2 pack. Also an issue with the female ninja from the Indy Mates box set (whatshername). Paint over cheap white plastic - I found this on the original batch of SF2 Minimates and a batch of LOTR wave 1 Minimates from TRU. Others have reported this on other figures. I have since replaced my LOTR and SF2 Minimates with higher quality versions when I could. I found higher quality SF2 mates at TRU.

Score!!! The Local Comic book pusher couldn't believe the interest in Minimates today. I guess I beat several other callers to the store.

One place I've called in Orange County has them in. Today I'm working in OC (just south of LA) and I'm heading over there after work. Not sure if the variant will still be there but I'm hoping to at least get Beast.

I pre-ordered Wave 13 with Variant but ... I can't remember from which online store. I have a receipt somewhere on my home computer. Does anyone remember which store offered pre-orders with the variant? If I remember correctly, my credit card was charged at the time of the order. I would like to check the status. The thread which listed the store was on the old forum and is now gone.

Now we know what forum members do when we don't get new Minimates for a year.

I would LOVE a line of historical figures. I was in a museum not to long ago and I thought Minimates would make perfect "Gift Shop" items.

Fujis and I have discussed this many times. I probably should have registered Minimates Headquarters to capture the google rankings long ago. Actually, I should probably register the name tonight. It's on my huge list of things to do. I don't know if we will change the name. Probably direct both names to Minimate Headquarters. Consequently, I've pondered the legal implications and needless to say I'm absolutely clueless. I assume at any time AA could pull a FOX Simpsons and make me shut down. (At least it is in their right to do so if they ever wanted). Thankfully these companies have seen us as a positive, organically growing new media marketing component of their business model. Or they are just plain cool. I think both. The real question is, who is brave enough to get their hands on www.minimates.com.

Hmmm... My Target mates are high quality plastic with different base colors. Same with my new SF2 mates. My original SF2 mates were white plastic painted. And the plastic felt cheap. I wonder if they are doing different production methods for the same line?

When the WD-40 activates the paint, you need to rub very hard to get the paint to come off. You can rub the hip ball and some of the paint will come off. Just don't rub hard on the other painted surfaces. Wash off after you free the legs.

I know why they chose this line-up. They are going to release it and say "Not enough support for Wave 2." AAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
