  1. Agreed, I'm glad to see we're starting to get away from the ad nauseam big names in box sets, especially if it's exclusive to a place like AFX or a convention. And I second the guy with the squirrel who wants Blizzard and Boomerang. I like getting new big name villains, but I'd love to see some more obscure ones, especially if they're saving the Mandarin to come in a pack with "New Hat Iron Man," use more obscure villains to fill gaps in waves. And the Wrecking Crew in a box set!!
  2. Agreed, at bare minimum we need: Kang, Klaw, The Mandarin, The Lizard, Baron Zemo, Mr. Sinister, Stryfe, The Void, Dormammu, and Songbird. My basis for those particular people was they are either the Arch-Enemy of someone who has been 'mated, or the last member of a villain team such as Songbird, or someone who has been such an important player in the MU they deserve a spot. If anyone feels I'm forgetting someone let me know, I probably am.
  3. Haha, nice. I wonder what JL figure they'll sneak into wave 6, they seem to add a complimentary figure to recent waves in some of the TRU series, but almost everybody's done now, except Jubilee and Long Hair Bishop. Both of which I could honestly do without, I like bald Bishop, and Jubilee just worked my nerves although I'm sure I'm in the minority on that. I still like my Morph idea, with double sided face so you can make him brainwashed Morph.
  4. Haha, "TRU Series 6 with First Appearance Beast and JL Beast, First Appearance Jean with Black Queen Jean, X-Factor Cyclops and JL Jean, X-Factor Ice-Man with JL Ice-man!! Oh, and one per case Kang and Songbird set."
  5. Was not expecting her, she looks good. I'm happy for all the people who really wanted one. I hope now after this series and the two boxsets DST gives Cyclops, Beast and Jean a much deserved rest.
  6. Me. Nessex. Twisted and numerous others. For appearing only a couple issues she has quite a following. She was made as a bust by DST, a statue by Bowen, SS statue, and a Toys R Us Exclusive Marvel Legend. There is definite demand out there for her in this costume or else all the various companies wouldn't continue to pump out product with her. I'm not bashing the choice or the character, I don't even really care about JL Jean, I'm happy with the Phoenix we got in the Secret Invasion set, but I saw people talking about JL Jean before this wave was even revealed, and now that it appears she won't be included, people are disappointed. I'm simply saying she seemed like a better choice, popular with collectors and more recognizable to casual people. I like BQ Jean, although I like Selene more to be honest. I'm glad we're getting BQ Jean so we can get Selene, I just think there was more support for JL Jean.
  7. True, but I also feel like a JL boxset would have been the best way to get a lot of redo's out at once, I think there'd be more of a market for two Jim Lee sets than the first appearance and X-Factor ones we have coming out. I guess my problem isn't with the redo necessarily, but that we're getting a surprising number of Cyclops, Jeans and Beasts this year, but I feel like the Jim Lee designs are the ones people really want. I could be wrong, but people seemed awfully keen when JL Storm popped up, and I just think they're kind of saturating the market with multiples of these three characters who aren't at the popularity level of Wolverine, Spider-Man, ect. People don't necessarily want the millions of Spideys either, but they'll roll with it to get Vulture, Shocker, new people.
  8. Well, yea...but we need a 616 Fury DESPERATELY. The man's old one was terrible, and i hate putting him next to the newer Minimates. Why on Earth would we need another Sam-Nick so soon?? I don't like the official Fury either, but I took a Patch Wolverine and put a Mr. Fantastic hairpiece on him, and I like that one infinitely more, he looks a lot more serious and badass, and the white coat gives him a Bond look. Maybe that will help.
  9. I like the wave as is, I might like it a lot more tomorrow depending who the final 'mate is. I'm glad they finally made this Cyclops, I feel it is the definitive outfit for him, same with Rogue although I liked the first one just fine. Beast will likely become my default Beast. However, I just wish sometimes they could make the default versions up front, which would allow us to get more new characters in future waves. They've been making Cyclops since the beginning and only now is the most well known look for him being released. Same with Beast, and while I think she looks good I don't feel like we needed anther Rogue, at least not as much as some others. I'm not saying this to bust DST's chops, I love what they put out and buy almost all new 'mates except for stuff like the X3 wave. I'll gladly pick these up, so it's not that I don't like what they're making, it's more a suggestion. Make the best ones up front, the Marvel Universe is too extensive to have 9 Cyclops, when he's not even at Wolverine levels of popularity. The JL one is awesome, but I can't help but think of all the other X-Characters we could have by now. Don't get me wrong, I love 'mates and will always buy them, this isn't a petulant "Do this or I'm leaving" post, but I feel like this wave would be a bigger deal if we weren't getting so many redo's of characters, especially considering the one a lot of people wanted (JL Jean Grey) isn't even in the wave. We already have two box sets of Jean, Cyclops and Beast on the horizon, I have to wonder about the logic of filling half a wave with them around the same time. The Wolverine Comic Wave had two redo's, but it also had three MUCH REQUESTED characters in Gambit, Deadpool and Psylocke. Was there anyone out there aching for a Black Queen Jean?
  10. Unlikely. They are saving him for the inevitable "Brotherhood of Evil Mutants" box set with early green Pietro, Scarlet Witch, Mastermind, and Blob. They'd probably find a way to get Toad in there to finally finish off that poster from way back when. In a way it's almost bizarre to me considering how many variations we've had of Jean, Cyclops, Wolverine, we don't have that many X-Men villains or Brotherhood members. The sheer number of Wolverines makes the fact we just recently got comic Sabretooth seem all the more bizarre. I'm holding out hope for Omega Red soon. Anyway, Selene looks good, I'd honestly rather she be the main release and Black Queen Jean the variant, but that's just me. I don't think it will be brown suit Wolverine anymore, because the last three reveals have all been either new characters or practically new in the case of BQJ, closing the reveals with "Wolverine with a new hat" would really be going out with a whimper, not a bang. Not saying it won't happen, but I think they'll surprise us.
  11. Well the Hellfire guard isn't exactly what I was hoping for, I really think he should have had a slip on mask, the thing that always stood out to me about Hellfire goons was the mask seemed three dimensional, like someone wearing an art class blank mask over their own face, if that makes any sense. However, based on DSTMatt's comment, I believe this is either a very early prototype and the end result will be much better, or they'll arm him to the teeth like they did Deadpool. Either way, good to know there's more to him than meets the eye. As for the final three, I'm thinking Jean Grey, Brown Wolverine, the variant escapes me though. If I could pick, I'd want a Dark Beast, but I'm not sure who they'll end up throwing in. Maybe Morph, haha.
  12. Well that confirms the wave as an X-Wave, I'm going to guess the remaining 'mates will be Jean, maybe one villain like Sinister, a Hellfire guard, and I have no idea about the variant, no one revealed so far has an obvious variant to me, although sometimes they come totally out of left field, like Wolverine in his army fatigues.
  13. I couldn't put my finger on it at first, but I think that Beast underwhelmed me so much because even though he's probably the best one they've put out overall, he's just kind of meh when compared to Cyclops, who is pretty much dead on. Out of curiosity, is everyone hoping for an X-Wave or are you hoping these two come together and it's a random assortment like 33? Personally I'm leaning towards random assortment wave, I like the X-Men a lot but so far out of six slots in a series two are already guys we already have, and I always get more excited about seeing new faces than remakes.
  14. Beast just showed up on their facebook. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=2932...;id=76429063224
  15. Thanks!! I'm pretty sure this is it, but I felt like there were more AIM guys, but maybe I just remembered wrong. I'm off to AFI, thanks again!!
  16. That one's pretty cool, but the one I'm thinking of had around 40-50 AIM soldiers in it. I saw it this summer, it was set up at one of the conventions I think. Thanks for your help though.
  17. Hey, I've been trying to find a photo from one of the recent conventions, I believe it was the Bucky Captain America 'mate against about a hundred AIM soldiers, I could be wrong about Cap but I know there were tons of AIM guys, it was a sort of diorama. Anyone know what I'm talking about and where to find it? Thanks!!
  18. They could do the Mandarin in both red and yellow and the green outfit with the mask like Toybiz did for the ML Face-Off series. Rheul's right about the Kree needing their leader, but so do the HYDRA troops. Where's Baron Strucker?
  19. Wrecking Crew U-Foes Clone Saga (Kaine, Jackal, Spider-Man of some sort because you know they will, Ben Reilly) Thunderbolts (ALL OF THEM, I especially like the current lineup) Frightful Four (minus Hydro-Man, we have him) Sinister Syndicate (minus Hydro-Man and Rhino, or at least give us a new Rhino) Captain America (Crossbones, Falcon, Baron Strucker, Winter Soldier) Some aren't based on specific comics, but are either well known units or could knockout a large portion of supporting cast. I'd also be down for an Armor Wars set and ANY version of the Masters of Evil. Perhaps several versions, I'd buy all of them. Oh, and the Serpent Squad, and.....I need to walk away, I could be here a while.
  20. Personally I'll be happy with around 4 Vault Guards, 6-8 SHIELD Agents. Skrulls can vary because they're shape-shifters, and combined with the four Skrull heads in the Secret Invasion set you can have as many Skrulls as you want, just some would either be half changed or using another character 'mate as a Skrull currently transformed. I'd like around 10 AIM agents, and 4-5 Multiple Men. The Sentinels look awesome, but they're so small I won't know for sure until I have one in hand. However, I plan to army build HYDRA like they're a cure for a disease.
  21. I nominate the Mandarin for the next grassroots 'mate movement. DST has a major jones for Iron Man but his arch-enemy is still unaccounted for.
  22. I'd love to see the classic lineup released, but I also really like the characters in the current incarnation of the team. If they wanted to do another set of 3 box sets like they did for Dark Avengers (DA 1&2 and Thunderbolts) and managed to get the majority of these Thunderbolts out there I'd buy every ridiculous Spidey variant they trot out. Zemo, Songbird, Fixer, Mach IV. Ghost, Scourge, Mister X, Headsman. Paladin, Ant-Man, Natalia Romanova, and.....Kang. I know a lot of you guys are keen on him.
  23. There are some I'd like more than others, but I'd take pretty much any of them, villains are the area I feel Marvelmates are most lacking, especially given the way two-packs are arranged sometimes. Don't get me wrong, the new Jim Lee Storm looks awesome and I'm really excited for Black Panther, but I feel that by putting the two of them together cuts Klaw's chances down a lot, as he's BP's main villain, the only other one I can think of is Silverback. I'd love to see more villains in boxsets if the waves are to remain hero-heavy.
