Congrats on your purchase. Resin Printer or FDM (oozing plastic) type?

There are some minimate plans for sale on one of the model download sites. No idea if they are any good. I think you'll find people reluctant to share their minimate or minimate-like designs for free. I'd recommend getting familiar with your printer and getting good prints out of it before attempting anything too complicated.

A general recommendation I can make is that there are a lot of free files out there of stuff for 3.75" figures. Scale them down to 70% or so for a good fit for minimates.  There are files on thingiverse for a 70's Mattel Viper scaled up for 3.75" figures. The original Viper is too small for a mate. The thingiverse one is too big. Scale it to 70% and you have a great classic Viper for Starbuck. I've done that one myself. Sometimes scaling down will make a part too small to print so it can be trial and error. But I've printed a Mattel Viper and a more realistic one in scale for mates to pilot. Currently seeing if I can scale down the Cobra Vamp that I found.

Any pictures of your 3D printed vipers? I have a guy offering to print G.I. Joe vehicles for me. He can do a HISS, Fang, Wolverine, Trouble Bubble, etc. $30 for a 3D printed HISS sounds like a good deal to me. I just wasn't sure how low to reduce the file so that Minimates fit (file is for 3 3/4 figures). He currently increases the size and prints them for G.I. Joe Classified figures.

SDCC set will be existing characters in new outfits. Slight change from original concept, but we'll see what happens to that concept, maybe it will be a future release.

Not sure about troopers at this time, I haven't seen the full line-up for 3 and 4. I only know two of the Cobras in Series 4 and I'm excited.

    Come by and say hi!

Oh boy. People are going to be pissed if they are just repaints of existing characters. We already have two Snake Eyes, Storm Shadows, Cobra Commanders, and Scarlett. I'm cool with it if it is Commando Snake Eyes, Arctic Storm Shadow, etc.

Plus the SDCC exclusive, which is different from the original concept, but should be pretty darn cool.

What does this mean Zach? Does it mean that the SDCC set could be based of the cartoon or am I way off in what you are saying? Possibly you are just talking about the packaging for the SDCC set?

the streaming mentioned how hasbro is going away from plastic in its packaging......

i wonder if licenses will be affected by this. i can't imagine just getting a cardboard box full of stuff.

but yeah, some really cool stuff coming up!

Yeah, I hope they don't completely stop with the plastic. I want to be able to see what I am buying. I see way too many posts of Classified figures that have been returned to stores and the figure has been swapped out with some random figure, many times not even a G.I. Joe Classified figure.

Honestly, I really just want more classic Avengers.

I've been championing it for a few months now; can we please have new 'Mates of Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne? I'll legit take anything at this point for those 2 characters. They've gotten next-to-no love in the realm of Marvel Minimates aside from the MCU stuff, and even with the MCU stuff, there's no figure of Janet herself.

Please, Diamond. Pull together and give us new 'Mates of Giant-Man and Wasp.

You must have missed this Wasp from the Avengers box set. I am still waiting for them to make a Wasp in her black and gold outfit. I think that was her best look. Hail Ivan!

  6. I never read any of the Young Avengers books. They just didn't interest me. Then again, most Marvel comics don't interest me. If you told me 15 years ago that I would no longer enjoy any of the X-Men comics I would have called you a liar. Unfortunately it has come true. The only Marvel comic that I am currently enjoying is Moon Knight. The Devils Reign event is pretty good too. The Necrosha story line is the last X-Men story I enjoyed. The stories just aren't fun anymore, Thankfully the Spawn comics have been great so far. I'm really enjoying Gunslinger after not really liking him when he was first introduced.

  7. Jim Lee era X-Men gold team and then blue team. I would love an update of them. A Midnight Sons set would be awesome too. Dan Ketch Ghost Rider, Blaze, Blade, Morbius, Lilith, and either Centurious or Zarathos.

  8. Zach are these going to continue to have sets specifically for G.I. Joe and then the next set will be Cobra or will you guys be mixing Cobra and G.I. Joe together? I also think we all would be fine if the packaging was more simple like the Transformers minimates. Just put the file cards on the back 9or include them inside) and we will all be happy.

    Zach ,

I (we ), of course, know that you want everyone one to get one . So do I.

    Everybody ,

Separating the Logans & Deadpools from this UK 'inventory' is going to prevent me pursuing the wholesaler for cases of the 'assortments '.  I have everything else WG, as do, it would seem, my fellow-collectors in the US  .  I am therefore left with my age-old position of just buying from a retailer . I am a collector , I rarely sell anything.

The only good thing about this 'assortments' sale in the UK is that retailers here are very unlikely to know that just 2 of the sets are actually really wanted in the US.  That may change ,who knows?

I have ,in hand ,several sets which were bought with fellow-members in mind but ....& I'll be blunt .....nobody need to feel under any obligation to me . I have had so much help over the years from MMMV members I felt that maybe I could reciprocate. If nothing comes of my following suggestion then guys who really know me, PM me & we'll talk .

My initial thoughts are to find somebody US-based who will distribute these once I have sent them en-bloc to the US , put yourself or nominate somebody please. If this works out then we can keep the shipping down to a minimum.

    I don't want to make a cent on this , I don't want any grief either:no:

These 2 packs have cost me $15 each & by the time they get to the US they'll be more than $15 each because of shipping.

Or....y'all & I can just wait & see what happens. I am not overly concerned if a better route (to the US) transpires.

    PLMK

Any chance you can post pics for all of us to see? Im not a big fan of MCU minimates but these two sets were definite buys for me. I would love to see how they turned out.

I just bought a VAMP too, was hoping it would be a little bigger. I guess the way out of proportion minimates body is what makes it tricky. should be the correct scale, but i guess 1:24 is more accurate? Might be time to look into 3D printing some vehicles..... i'm really hoping these do well enough to get some of the smaller vehicles and playsets, like the VAMP, RAM, JUMP, FANG copter, etc...

Was hoping to see some Joe reveals for NYTF, wonder when we'll get some official word on the next 50 ( ? ) waves! or at least the SDCC exclusives.

    YOJoe!!!

There are 3D files out there for G.I Joe vehicles. I have seen Vamp, Hiss, Zartan's Swamp Skier, Cobra Devilfish, Cobra Trouble Bubble, etc. You just have to resize the file to make them smaller for Minimates. I was talking to a guy that said he would print me a Hiss for minimates for $30. I may take him up on it. Vehicles would be awesome for this line.

  11. The only thing that bothers me about these new boxed sets is that I usually buy some extra sets for customs. I just can't justify buying another set for $50 just to get an extra character or two that I need for a custom. I guess I will be buying what I need off ebay from now on.

  12. It's nice of you to share your background with us. You looked great in the ring and did fantastic selling the moves (something that wrestlers seem to forget to do a lot of times these days). Too many spots being done in my opinion and not enough ring psychology. I'm sure you have plenty of cool stories from wrestling over the years too.

  13. I have no problem paying the higher price for this set. I just won't be able to afford to buy multiple sets of them. I think two, possibly three is going to be my limit. I hope after wave one and two that they will go back to the normal blister 4-packs like the Transformers sets. I am completely fine paying $30 for a four pack. The prices of just about everything have gone up here in the U.S. due to Covid and stupid choices made by our government.

  14. Is Luke able to offer the animated  X-Men minimates sets? They would obviously sell well. I just don't know what the production amount would have to be for Luke to be able to offer them.

Have you guys tried to get Target or Walmart to sell them lately? They both have collectible areas in their stores.

I think a solid four-or six-pack of just one kind of trooper is unlikely, but I'd love to see a mixed set. I'll push for some kind of Trooper (with alt chest block), Viper, Televiper. Crimson Guard set and we'll see what happens. :) Granted, it might not happen until after another round of Cobra top brass (Bludd, Tomax, Xamot, Zartan, etc.), but hopefully it goes for a long, long time.

Don't forget Firefly in your list. He is one of my favorite Cobra members. Also will any of these figures include backpacks like a lot of the original 3 3/4 line had?

If it was a situation like our Multiple Man sets, where since Diamond was already making an army builder, they were able to let us order a lower quantity (500) of an exclusive set, provided that it was produced at the same time as another release, then yes we definitely would. However if we had to meet their usual order requirements for an exclusive set (3000) we would have to pass, as I am not confident we could sell that many sets.

I think you could sell out an army builder pack of Cobra troops. 3000 wouldn't be that hard for this line. G.I. Joe collectors buy lots of Cobra Troopers. Some people buy 10 or more of them for their collections. A 2-pack with a Cobra Trooper and a Cobra Officer would be great. Just change the Cobra insignia from red on the trooper to silver on the officer and you would be set. Maybe also different weapons for each one too.

I collect the G.I. Joe Classified line. I have multiples of Cobra Infantry, Cobra Troopers, Vipers, and Red Ninjas. I will be buying numerous B.A.T.s and Alley Vipers too when they come out. You can't display Cobra Commander without having an army around him. I'm just saying that people love to army build Cobra troopers and I think you could easily sell 3000. 500 would sell out quickly.
