  1. kick ass on the storm shadow and snake eyes. Those are clearly THE definitive versions. I really dig the used look you are getting from the buff n stuff.

Your Ed McGuinness customs are awesome. The chromed out version is sweet. And yeah I can't wait for the Hawkman...about time they do him right.

  2. Hey jeff question for you, on that picture you posted, is that a variant of a variant sentry or is it just a custom face.

    thanks

Looks like a regular Sentry sporting one of the Street Fighter character's faces and Ult. Sabretooth's hair to me.

As far as the true variant versus simple rerelease (a la Hulk) debate, I'd put it with the latter as well. Though the process of making the figure has changed, it's still intended to be the same figure. Slight tint variations and the use of different parts to achieve the same results don't constitute a second figure to me. Darktide had new faces, as did the UA2 Captain America rerelease. UA2 Iron Man had new details on his legs. Target Professor X had a new color scheme. These are true variations that deserve a separate slot on my display case. But red versus slightly more red isn't noticeable enough for me to kill myself hunting it down.

+1...couldn't have said it better myself.

  3. So... should she be classified as a variant figure (like blue Iceman) or just a second factory run (like DVD Hulk)?

I would say like the later like the hulk DVD. It's just not that much of a difference imo.

I agree. The differences look to be only those due to being a different factory run. The facial features are basically the same.

  4. Boy, that Captain Britain is SWEET!! I am really looking forward to those guys. I want to build an X-Factor set, being that it was the very first comic I collected back in the 80s. I think most of that team has been made already, but I would definately need to do come customizing for their costumes of the time. Cyclops in Blue/white X, Kitty in her puffy shirt. Oh, the outfits in the 80s were so grand.

    You mean Shadowcat like this?

  5. TBT, you probably have seen a few pics online, but here's a couple I found of an opened Ultimate Iron Man.

To be honest, I was absolutely going to buy it when it was first announced and they showed the pictures online, but after seeing it in person, I don't know anymore. It didn't look like the image shown of Ultimate Iron Man here:

I should have remembered how it looked like when we went passed the Hasbro's booth last year at SDCC, but then again, I thought it was still a prototype. If I see it around Target/TRU, perhaps I will still get it but I won't be running around town trying to find it.

I think I like the Marvel Select Ultimate Iron Man's look better ( http://www.comicbookbin.com/ironman.html ) but I'd still want to see that in person.

I don't see the difference in the pics you posted, however I do agree the Marvel Select is a much better sculpt. I have seen that one at the comic shop back in the day.
