  1. Forget the video games and buy a book or two I have plenty of "outside" interests.....however reading has never been one of them! I guess I get that from my father, Chuck Norris, though. See, he just stares at a book until he gets the information that he wants. And Don, I wouldn't mind starving myself.......it's more my family I'm worried about . neo
  2. Well, I had a semi-meltdown last night. I was thinking about picking up my Pre-Order of 3D Dot Game Heroes today and was planning for the rest of my pre-orders. My problem, they are all coming out right now!! I completely forgot that I was not rich, lol. So, earlier this year I went and pre-ordered several games. And just realized they are all coming out within the next few weeks and I don't have the money to buy them all........ I have, 3D Dot Game, Mario Galaxy 2, Alan Wake, ModNation Racers, Prince of Persia: FS and Red Dead Redemption. Right now I can probably afford 3 of the 6, but I can't for the life of me decide which ones need to go.......AAAHHH. I've never had this issue in May before...ever. Any advice?! neo
  3. Yes, ModNation Racers. I can't wait. I have it pre-ordered and paid for on the PS3 and I can't wait to pick it up! Also, wanted to mention that 3D Dot Game Heroes drops today. I'm picking it up after work. I will have to squeeze some play time in before and after tonight's LOST!! As for Pre-Order, right now I have ModNation (PS3), War for Cybertron (360), Madden (360), and Halo Reach (360) reserved. Of course, I'll reserve the new Zelda as soon as they announce it at E3, and Fable III. That is about all I'm really into so far this year. However, I am keeping a close eye on Red Dead Redemption......that may move into the must buy list! neo
  4. Yeah, it is. I'm halfway through Uncharted and I'm really loving it. I love Drake and the game is fun and beautiful. I mentioned InFamous because I don't want to get burned out on Uncharted. I'll probably take a break once I beat the first one and then come back and play 2. I have heard it's one of the best games of this generation though so I can't wait! On another note, has anyone played the new Iron Man game? I honestly wanted to love the first game because I love Iron Man, but the first game was not very good at all. I'm interested in the new game......but I'm still waiting until I hear more. The silence from websites and review sites is never a good thing! neo
  5. It's funny really, I thought I would be totally sucked in by Reach, but I'm suprisingly not. In fact, I picked up a cheap used copy of Uncharted (the first one) and have started playing it a few days ago. I found myself last night playing through that for several hours and never even turned Reach on once. Guess I really am switching sides, lol. Uncharted is really an amazing game, I can't believe I've missed it this much. Next on my list is InFamous, but I'm all about immersing myself in one game at a time . neo
  6. So, I did try out the beta for a few hours last night. I have to say overall I'm impressed. Multiplayer is never my draw to the game, I'm more of a single player guy. However, the graphics were noticibly better and the weapon loadouts were fantastic, much improved over picking up items. It's still taking me time to get used to RB melee, but I think it works. Overall I have enjoyed my time even though I'm constantly reminded that I'm just not that good, lol. neo
  7. To lengthen my thoughts, I really hope he doesn't wear the classic suit until the end battle. He should start wearing just a basic Asgardian outfit (similar to a casual Thor suit) until he is sent to Earth. Then human clothes until he returns as the God of Thunder. Then, for the final battle I hope he suits up, Helmet and all!
  8. I love the pic so far. I have to say they not only nailed the essence of the character's classic form, but it looks 100% believable. Of course, we haven't seen it in motion, but I am more than satisfied at this present time! neo
  9. That's funny battlecat, I'm the same way. In fact, the only reason I own a Wii today is because no matter how much crap they put on the system, when they make a Mario or Zelda game I have to play it. I do not currently own 1 single Wii game that is not First-Party. Even with 2 generation old hardward, Nintendo still knows how to deliver a masterpiece! neo
  10. Dude, I had almost forgot about this game. I can't stand any of the PS versions of Wrestling and I can't stand any of the Next Gen versions. But those 64 games were amazing!! World Tour, Wrestlemainia 2K, No Mercy, all three were great although No Mercy was probably my favorite. I can't count how many hours we spent in college creating pay-per-views and having title defenses. Ah......I wish they would make another game just like that for the Wii or something, there will never be another wrestling game to rival them! neo
  11. Alright, if anyone reads the main topic you will know that I'm getting more into my PS3. However, I have owned very few PS3 games. So I thought about asking for recommendations for PS3 games, but then I thought I may not be the only one in the hunt for good games. So, I was thinking this would be fun for us to share. The rules are simple, post any system that you own (Current or past generation) and list your Top 5 games for that system (they don't have to be in any kind of order, just 5 games you love). Again, these are just based on your opinions and opinions are never wrong - So no arguing! Maybe you can open the door for someone else with a system that has missed a really good game along the way! I guess I'll go first... (In no specific order) Xbox 360 (Exclusive): -Halo 3 -Halo ODST -Fable II -Shadow Complex -Mass Effect PS3 (Exclusive): -Uncharted -Little Big Planet -Ratchet and Clank Future (Sorry, these are the only 3 I've played) Nintendo Wii (Exclusive): -The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess -New Super Mario Bros -Mario Galaxy -Wii Sports -Zack and Wiki Nintendo DS: -PokeMon: Diamond/Pearl/Platnium -PokeMon: SoulSilver/HeartGold -New Super Mario Bros -Picross -The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass Cross-Platform: -Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 1 and 2 (1 is better, but both are great) -Batman: Arkham Asylum -Assassin's Creed 1 and 2 (2 is better, but again both are great. -Fallout 3 -Burnout Paradise *I have to give a shout out to my LEGO games, Batman, Indy, Star Wars, I love them all!!! neo
  12. Dude, you are right about trophies. I guess I didn't explain myself in great detail. I actually found myself ONLY playing games for achievements. A couple of weeks ago I started playing Peggle (which is a game I LOVE). Once I started the game the first thing I did was hit the guide button, scroll over to the achievement list, and see which one I wanted to try for. There really wasn't as easy one to get and I didn't have a lot of time to invest so I actually quit playing the game and looked for something I could get an easy achievement for. Then I stopped and said "What am I doing?!" Peggle is a great game and playing games has always been about the fun you get from actually playing the game. You can look at my game profile, I've played Avatar and NBA 2Ksomething and several other very bad games just to get more gamerscore. That is not the way I think games were meant to be played and it really changed my outlook on the whole thing. To bring it full circle, I own a PS3 and have for 2 years and I don't own 1 game, because every time I went to buy a game and spend my hard earned money I asked myself, do I want to play something on the PS3 or do I want something I can add to my gamescore with. Needless to save I've missed all the great PS3 exclusives and have offically changed my stance. I'm not jumping sides (maybe only temporarily) and playing some of the great exclusives that the black box has to offer. I'm sure I'll still be splitting time with Halo: Reach, but for the forseeable future I'll be on the PSN! On the subject of Monster Hunter, what do you think Trekker? My problem right now is money and time. When I have money to buy games I RARELY look at the Wii section and then when I have time it's normally spend on LIVE (but soon PSN, lol). Anyway, I have to say I'm pretty interested in Monster Hunter. I like the idea, but I heard it was really hard. What are your impressions so far? neo
  13. I am actually at a cross roads. I have deal with several issues concerning my gaming habits. The most important was achievements and I've come to the conclusion that I am not a fan. I have been playing more and more on my PS3 and I really like it. Before I would only buy games for my 360 based on achievements but I had to take a long look and realize that I was spending money and time to earn a score that means.....wait for it........NOTHING!! So, I have offically decided that I'm switching teams. From now on I will only play Cross-Platform stuff on my PS3. I actually came close to just getting rid of my Xbox all together, but with Reach Fable III and all of my Arcade stuff I realized quick that was just a stupid idea, lol. But for now, I'm a Playstation Fanboy who happens to own an Xbox 360. Just thought I'd share that. With that being said, I'm going tonight to pick up Uncharted, inFamous, and Little Big Planet. neo
  14. lol, little late, but good games never go outta style! Yeah, I'm cheap and picked this up on Gamestop's last sale for $20. I didn't know if CoD4 was better than CoD: MW, so I got 4. If anyone is still playing it, send me a PM for some online mayhem! Just to clarify for everyone, CoD4 is CoD: MW. It goes like this: Call of Duty (Infinity Ward) Call of Duty 2 (Infinity Ward) Call of Duty 3 (Treyarch) Call of Duty 4: Modern Warefare (Infinity Ward) Call of Duty 5: World at War (Treyarch) Call of Duty 6: Modern Warefare 2 (Infinity Ward) Again, no big deal, but make sure you are inviting people to the right game . I, personally, have gotten back into the Halo multiplayer so I'll have to pass. And with Reach Beta coming in a few weeks I may not be playing CoD again for a while! neo
  15. You're father will be lifted up by my family as well Miry. We wish you all the best. Please keep us posted on the progress! neo
  16. lol, little late, but good games never go outta style! I am actually looking forward to May for several reasons. Mostly right now Red Dead Redemption and 3D Dot Game Heroes. I'm also keeping a close eye on Iron Man 2. The first game was not very good, but there is just something about Iron Man that I love and it makes me want to buy the game anyway, lol. Hopefully this one will be semi-decent. neo
  17. I'm not sure what your definition of "pick up and play" is. When it comes to the DS that is basically every game. Honestly, in the middle of any game if you need to quit just close the screen and next time you pick it back up you are ready to play. However, if you are talking about "pick up and play" as in no story or structure but just fun gameplay you are looking for a puzzle type game. Here are some ones I'd reccomend on the cheap: Brain Age 2 -If you don't know anything about the Brain Age games, they are basically learning exercises made fun. It's the definition of Pick up and Play for the casual market and is cheap for $20. If you want to even go cheaper you can pick up Brain Age 1 for closer to $10. Disney Meteos -Meteos is probably my favorite puzzle game since Tetris. In this version you line up Disney character blocks to rocket lines of blocks at Metetors. It's addicting, fast paced, and a lot of fun. Puzzle Quest -While Puzzle Quest may be a harder game to find, it's one of the best. It's a Bejeweled style of game with a huge role playing storyline. You create a character and follow the story's progression but all battle is handled on the Puzzle Board. It's also one of the best on the DS.......and any platform for that matter! It is worth noting that Puzzle Quest 2 is coming out shortly, but of course you are looking for cheap. Warrioware Touched -Earlier someone mentioned Warrioware D.I.Y., which is a FANTASTIC game. It is also a new release making the price close to $40 right now. For under $20 you can get the first Warrioware release for DS that is still my favorite of the Warrioware series. It's huge with a ton of challenges and it's worth owning for any DS player. It is still one of the best uses of the touchscreen to date. CrossworDS -Not much explination needed, this is Crosswords done with the touchscreen on the DS. There are a ton of puzzles that will keep you busy for months. If you like crosswords at all this is worth owning. It's simple, easy to pick up and play, and always worth going back to. Picross DS -I've mentioned Puzzle Quest and Meteos already, but Picross is another one of my favorite Puzzle games. You are basically filling in a pixeled picture using a puzzle system. I would say this is another Must Own for DS players. Nintendogs -If you don't know what Nintendogs is I won't spend lines and lines to explain. It's basically the single best animal sim ever made. It was the game that I remember playing on my DS and thinking, "this is the future". While it has some age on it, it's one of the first games to showcase the touchscreen and to this day still does a fantastic job doing it! Plus, it's a chick magnet . Also, not as "casual" but still some of the best on the system on the cheap: Sonic Rush -It's the classic Sonic that we grew up with. 2D and fast. It's a platform game with not much story or length. It's easy to pick up and play for a while and great to replay time and time again. It's been the best Sonic released since the Sega Genesis! There is also a sequel, but again it cost more. Warrio MoD -Warrio MoD is a standard 2D sidescrolling game (much like the afore mentioned Sonic or Classic Mario). However, it is colored with zany flair as only Warrio can. You can switch costumes and do several key things outside of run and jump. It doesn't make much use of the Touchscreen but it's fun to play at any time. Advance Wars DS and Advance Wars DoR -I can't complete a list without Advance Wars. You can actually own both DS games used for under $20. Advance Wars is probably my favorite handheld series ever and that is saying a lot. The games are turn based strategy on a grid board. You play as an army trying to save the world. You capture cities, bases, airports, harbors, etc. You make soliders, tanks, planes, etc. and to carry out each mission to complete the objective. It's pretty easy to pick up and play and it will last you a long time. Again, I wouldn't normally include this game with a list of someone asking for "Pick Up and Play" games, however, as a fan I can't complete a list without at least mentioning the game. If you haven't played any of the GBA or DS version, it's worth a look! Well, I hope that helps. neo
  18. Aw, sweet LEGO game paradise . I agree that the save feature isn't the best. Anytime I need to run and want to save I go into the computer screen (Like you are buying a character or something) and then when you pull out it will automatically save. Just FYI . I have to say that I've spent most of my current time back on my DS. Stupid PokeMon. Don't know what it is about that dang game but I'm sinking hours and hours back into SoulSilver.......and loving every minute! I have to say that the PokeWalker was much needed and even though it's seperate from the main game really brings the joy back (or at least in my case!). I'm really looking forward to Black/White next year. I would also like to point out that I'm really disappointed with Splinter Cell. Not because it's bad, but the content is just too much. I've always been a Splinter Cell fan and while it's always been a M rated game for a reason, I just feel they are pushing it too much. In the demo alone there is curse works flying all over the place and more blood than needed, over the top in my opinion. It's sad that a game that has so much will alienate people just to try and hand with the hip crowd! I'm really praying for a content filter once the game is released........but I'm not holding my breath! neo
  19. Yeah, I thought about the Manga. But, trying to think like a business, the Manga (in order to be treated right) would have a different Art style completely. Where you can see Noir and Amazing are both the same Graphics that are just talor to suit the character. 2099, India, and 1602 could do the same thing. They could take the exact graphics and just reskin everything either in the future or the past or in India. Where if you tried to do the Manga and do it right you would have to retool the art into a Manga-style graphics or it would just look wierd. However, I have often said that Spider-Man + Ninjas = Instant Win . neo
  20. As far as the Dimensions, I don't think "Ultimate" is a lock as everyone here thinks. Honestly, Ultimate and Amazing can really be interchanged with just younger characters. It looks as if they are really trying to bridge the gap of fantasy Spider-Men-types. With that being said, my predictions are: 1 - Amazing Spider-Man 2 - Noir Spider-Man 3 - Spider-Man 1602 4 - Spider-Man: India ** **I'd like to point out that 2099 is a likely candidate, but if the game is really going for vast differences, I think this makes more sense. Plus, both India and 1602 are more recent as opposed to 2099 which was introduced some time ago. Also, with the popularity of games like Price of Persia and Assassin's Creed, India would be a nice fit. Reguardless I can't wait. I'd also like to ask, did anyone notice the First-Person part of the game? I thought someone would bring it up, but if you watch the trailer again right at the end of the trailer you get a couple of money shots that are in First-Person. So, are we finally going to see First-Person Swinging and what do you guys think about it ?!
  21. Read Away: Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions Discuss.... neo
  22. ODST is the best Halo game released. Just thought I'd give my two cents . Now, I need some help. I need to get the Firefight Achievement. The one that unlocks the Armor (Endure) I think it is. It has to be 4 player co-op. I'm much more apt to play with people that I actually know rather than just random strangers. So, anyone wanna make it a Firefight Date ?!?! neo
  23. HG (my baby version) is fantastic. Not gonna lie. However, should you not go for it, I have to reccommend Scribblenauts if you haven't played it yet. If you have, all of my other games are too old to tell you about as you have probably played them all. On a strange coincidence, I just today got Spirit Tracks. It was on sale. So... is it really that good? Thanks for the tip. I actually have heard good things about Scribblenauts but I haven't played it yet. As for PokeMon, I think I'm going to pick up SS anyway.....I can't help myself . And, for Zelda, it's really good. My main issue with both of the DS games are the traveling methods. While I love the open world, I don't like all of the riding around shooting a canon. It's fun for a while, but get old. In Hourglass as least you could take your own course, in Spirit you have to ride the rails just like they are which becomes boring after about the first dungeon. HOWEVER, all of that being said, I still love the games. The puzzles and action is akin to what I love from Link to the Past. While I would appreciate the option to use the buttons, the stylus play is flawless! If you liked Hourglass or LttP, you will love the game......even with the boring train rides! neo
  24. Alright, I broke out Halo ODST again last night. I've been reading alot about Reach and I'm pumping myself up. After limiting myself to mainly MW2 Multiplayer I haven't played Halo in months. Even playing last night I remember why I do love that game. It can be annoying, but I just play for the fun of it. I seem to actually have more fun with Halo than MW2, but it may just be that I was a little burned out. Anyway, I can't WAIT for Reach Beta!!! I'm going to play back through the story again to unlock the rest of the Avatar stuff, I actually LOVE the unlockable Avatar stuff. I'm really upset that more companies are using this formula. Obviously I know why. They are allowed to put their clothes on the Marketplace and actually charge for it which makes it almost pointless to give it away for free. However, that being said, I really love the few games that do. On that subject, I really believe this should be a requirement from MS going forward. They required that every original Xbox 360 game have Acheivements and that has been a fantastic idea. They should also make it a requirement going forward that every game should at least feature 1 or 2 exclusive unlockables. That would allow the sales to keep up, but it would also give the true gamers something to shoot for. Right now I can buy and wear a Big Daddy suit and never play Bioshock, that seems weird to me (and I wouldn't do it by the way). Just think, if you play Madden and you win the Superbowl with a team in a season mode you unlock an exclusive Team Hat and Shirt. They can still sale jerseys, but how cool would it be have a replica Super Bowl shirt with your team on it? Or, what about beating Ultimate Alliance 2 and you unlock a shirt with the main characters on them. There are no marvel shirts on the marketplace at all. Or even something like beating Shadow Complex and you Unlock the suit or even just the helmet. I really love the idea, but feel that if MS doesn't make it mandatory that it will just disappear. Once I unlock my Recon Helmet for achieving level 50 on waypoint that will mean something. As opposed to dressing like Ghost from MW2 which is something that my 74 year old grandmother could do by buying the outfit! One final note, I need something to play on my DS. I'm on the last boss fight in Spirit Tracks. I will finish tonight and look to trade it in for something else, but I'm torn. Most of me wants to pick up SoulSilver because I know how fantastic that game is. However, I've beaten that game before so do I really want to invest another 40+ hours into the same game? I'm at a crossroads, any DS love?!? neo
  25. Maybe, how many times have you beat it previously ?!?! Actually, this is on my list. Even though I know it's a candy coated version of the same game, that game is still one of the best Pokemon experiences ever made. I'm thinking about picking it up this weekend! neo
