  1. I'll probably hold off on MGS right now anyway. With Fable II and Fallout 3 due in just a few weeks, I'm going to be busy for a while! So, Mega Man 9 anyone? I've been playing recently. I really like the game, it reminds me of why I loved games to start with. It's straight forward and super linear and challenging as all get out, but that's why you play the game. Even with a 360 controller in my hand it makes me feel like the good ol' days! I will say that I am disappointed in the lack of a Next-Gen version. Don't get me wrong, I know they were going for the nostagic feel and they nailed it, but I would have appreciated a Next-Gen version of the game as well, so you could choose what you play. Bionic Commando (also by Capcom) is a perfect example of what a Next-Gen Classic can be. Even something as simple as the redisign of Mega Man Powered Up for the PSP. The graphics just look nice and welcome and MM9 would look awesome in Full, Widescreen, HD. That being said, the game still looks good and plays flawless and I'm sure it's going to sell a ton. What I'd like to see is Capcom go back to the 1st game and release it on the XBLA with Updated HD Graphics (ala Bionic Commando). May add a new bonus boss or extended play mode. And even a possible Co-Op type mode would be cool. Then continue the series on the XBLA (and WiiWare/PNS) so they can re introduce these timeless games back into a new generation. Even at $10 a pop, I would first in line for every Mega Man game (like this or updated graphics) they might release! neo
  2. I agree, from a behind the scenes stand, this is only a ploy to keep the audience strong. CW is not the strongest Network on TV, but Smallville is one of their strongest shows (if not THE strongest). There is a huge following with Smallville and their plan is to carry that audience into the Grayson's so they don't leave the network. That's just simple buisness! Who knows, they could use the Smallville Cyborb character as a "Mentor" for Dick in the Grayson's. Heck, if they wanted to do it right, they could introduce the Dick character during the last season of Smallville (ala Auqaman) and that would pave the way for his show. I agree the first big step is getting past the Pilot phase. Things are so early, I don't think the "DJ" name will stick. I also don't know that "The Grayson's" will stick. It sounds more like a old time sitcom. There is still time for development and changes, so we need to be carefull not to jump too far ahead. But, I still stand by my first impression, I think this is a great idea. It's got my support until they prove me wrong. I love Batman but we aren't going to get Batman. I think if they take this the Nightwing route as I mentioned before, this could be just as good as a Batman series. And I love the idea you guys have of introducing villians during the early years. I would like that Deathstrock and Two-Face should be the 2 main villains. However, I'd love to see Ivy and Riddler and Scarecrow and others. And even more, I love to see a serious love interest in a young Barbara Gordan. Come on, we may not be able to have BatMAN, but BatGIRL is more than practical, and we all know the love story between the two characters. That could be very interesting! neo
  3. Speaking of Metal Gear. I've never played a Metal Gear game, but everyone keeps telling me now that I have a PS3 I have to play that game. I've heald off because I normally do all of my gaming on my 360. But I was wondering, for those that have played, do I need to play the earlier games in the series to get what's going on? I've heard it's very cinematic and I don't want to be lost the whole time I'm playing? neo
  4. Funny thing, I just read this story and came here to post on it. Looks like someone beat me to it . Let me start with the talk about the Nolan films. I DISAGREE with the statement that when Robin comes in things go "tits up". I believe it is all in how it's done! I do AGREE with Nestle and feel that Robin is a MUCH needed part of Nolan's story and I think that it's the natural progression. But again, it's all in how it handles. What Nolan needs to do take Batman 3 into the Darkest place yet with Batman trully being Gotham's Villian. Progress that and show how Bruce is being lost to the Mask. Then, Introduce Dick into the story and have him and bruce form a relationship. No tights, I wouldn't even let Dick find out about Batman until Batman 4 (or at least at the very end of the Batman 3). Then introduce Robin into Batman 4. The point is though, like Nestle said, Bruce is a mask that Batman wears, and Batman is a certified crazy man, just as crazy as the villains he fights. Robin has always been that "light", that "Rope" that held Batman on the sane side of life. He is as important to the Batman story as the cowl is! Now, onto the subject at hand, The Grayson's. I actually LOVE the idea. In fact, the more I think about it, the more I want it. I love the Dick Grayson character. And for those who say that he doesn't become Robin until after his parents die or he can't do it without Bruce Wayne or whatever, just remember that Smallville features Clark meeting Lex while he's in High School and Meets Lois way before going to Metropolis. So, take things for what it's worth. I like Smallville because I can seperate it from the Comics, it doesn't try to be "Comic Accurate", I consider it to be "Ultimate Superman" if you will. So, with that in mind, I can really see the Grayson's following the same pattern. We all know the hero that Robin will become, but this is just more like "Ultimate Robin". All of that being said, I also think this can be handled poorly and become a trash show like "Birds of Prey", so it all depends on the direction they take, the writers, and the actors involved. But, just for fun, here are some things that I would do to make the show awesome: 1: Skip Robin -Anyone who knows comics knows that Dick eventually becomes Nightwing. I would seperate this show from Batman completely and have Dick (or DJ) work toward the Nightwing mantle, completely skipping the Robin Phase. I think this is important because when people think Robin they don't think Dick Grayson, they think Batman. To base a show off of Robin and no included Batman (and you know they won't, see Smallville for example), would really let the audience down. However, billing the show as the young days of Nightwing would not only build on Dick's charater, but it would allow him to become a hero outside of Batman's shadow! So, first thing I'm talking about in the meeting is Nightwing, not Robin! 2: Ultimate Nightwing -If anyone has read Ultimate Spiderman, you will kind of know where I'm going with this. Clark in Smallville has a secret that he can't tell anyone about, that is where the Drama comes from. Dick, on the other hand, is a normal kid, so where does the Drama come from? If you read the early issues of Ultimate Spider-Man you will know that Peter strugles with being a nerd and not fitting in. Now, imagine that you're DJ of the Flying Graysons.......you work in a Circus for pete sake. You are about as uncool as you can be. That creates huge drama with school bullies (that can actually beat him up) and even more with girls. On top of that, what always seperated Dick from Bruce is that Dick enjoyed being a hero. He had fun, he loves the thrill, there isn't the obligation like there is for Batman. You can use that to show the playfulness and comedy of the character. Also, having the story without Bruce means that Dick will have to Train somewhere with someone. That could be a huge, Karate Kid, kinda thing. Teaching Dick how to fight, but also learning the desire not too. 3: Family Ties -The show is called "The Grayson's", so it needs a health dose of Mom and Dad. Of all the stories that have been written, none get too deep into Mom and Dad's history. How'd they meet, when did they marry, did they enjoy the Circus, who trained them, etc. Mom and Dad could have a HUGE impact on the depth of the show because their stories have never been written. I sort of liken it to Lional Luthor from Smallville. We don't know anything about Lex's dad really, so he is given a clean slate and one of the best TV actors in the business to make it work, and it does. Mom and Dad really have the potential to be the breakouts that the show will need to build an audience. 4: Adversary -So, Dick needs something to punch right? It can't be a hero show without a protagonist or bad guy. So, who do we fight? I think that Mom and Dad should have issues with Circus Management. Maybe they are the biggest draw but the lowest paid or maybe they are backmailed by the "Ringmaster", who knows, whatever, Mom and Dad need to be standing for something. As for DJ, I think they should lay off the "Freak of the Week" routne. I would rather them made his Adversary high school. I'm not sure if anyone has seen an old show called "Everwood", but I would liken my view of Dick in high school to Ephrams. He is an outsider, he doesn't belong. Make it more about Drama. Sure, as the season progresses he should be training and maybe stop a crime in action. Then learn he can be more than just a high school kid, but I don't think it should be a weekly, standard, super hero type pace. I'd like to see a realistic, dramatic take on the character. 5: The Outsiders -If you are going with Nightwing, I would continue with the "Outsiders" and not the Teen Titans. I'd like to see further into the show (not season 1) them start to introduce characters that will help Dick along the way. Speedy and Star Fire for sure. Maybe even making several of them full time cast member later down the road, but keeping it less showey/flashy/overthetop and more gritty, behind the scenes kinda stuff. However, I do think that Dick is always better when he's with a team, whether it be the Outsiders or the Bat Gang. Well, there you have it. There are some ideas that I would include. But overall I'm excited. I love the idea and I think that if you take it out of Batman Continuity and make it "Ultimate Robin" (or Nightwing), like they have Smallville, it can be enjoyed greatly! Here's hopeing for the best! neo
  5. "neoFriendly" - Ha, that's funny! Do you write your own stuff . Actually, Fallout 3 is NOT neoFriendly. In fact, I am still a little hesitant about the game. But, I LOVED Oblivion, and if it's just exploding heads that I have to worry about, I'll just always aim for the body . I love the non-Linear, go anywhere, type of games. With side quests and discovery. It's probably my favorite genre. Oblivion nearly made my head explode the first time that I played it, it was so awesome. I assume that Fallout will have more of the same. So, I can deal with some Mutant Head Explosions for that.....I hope, lol. It's funny, but Fable to me is actually less neoFriendly in a lot of ways. You can have orgy's or kill any innocent people that you want, including children. Stuff like that to me is more morally evil than some mutants head exploding. But, like GTA, those are all choices that you can make and are not necessary to enjoy the game! Either way, I'm looking forward to the Fallout/Fable combo more than probably any two big games in a long time. These are really my favorite kinds of games, so I hope they live up to the hype! neo
  6. Yeah, I'm with you Wii! I've got Preordered Fable II, Fallout 3, and Banjo N&B, all fully paid. It's going to be a busy Holiday Break.......not to mention my wife is having our second child the end of December! neo
  7. First, I'd say Timbo was right. You did say "Adult" men . I'm still a kid at heart, and hope I always will be. But that doesn't answer your question does it. I'll try, but remember this is just me personally! I love the LEGO games for several reason. Growing up there was only one toy that I collected. While my friends were playing with Ninja Turtles and GIJoes and MASK, I got LEGOs for my B-Day and Christmas. I had all the pirate ships and Blacktron and Knights. I loved LEGOs growing up so it's just natural for me to be drawn to a "good" LEGO game. I used to play LEGO Island on the PC and if anyone can suffer through that game, they'll love TT's LEGO Games, lol. As for the deep enjoyment, for me it comes from the simple enjoyment of the game. Games now are so deep and realistic and almost tiring to some degree. Take the really big games: Call of Duty 4, Gears of War, Halo, GTA IV, Bioshock, Assasin's Creed, and there are plenty more. All of those games are great, amazing even. But they are gritty and violent and story driven and envolved. When you step foot into Rapture for the first time you begining the visceral experience of being trapped in an underwater nightmare. The game takes you to a place, mentally where you feel like part of the game. You're hands sweat as you turn the corner and they may be a few times you flinch in fear. LEGO Batman is the opposite of a game like that. The story isn't important, it's barely there. And the violence is kooky and funny. And it's dang fun to play. I relate it to a Movie Marathon where you watch The Shawshank Redemption, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, The Passion of the Christ, and The Departed. Then, you need a break from all the heavy so you pop in Napoleon Dynamite or Dumb and Dumber. So, for me it's about relaxing fun. There's not much strategy involved. You can't die. There is a ton of stuff to collect. And you get to play as Nightwing. What can go wrong! Sure, a 4 year old can probabaly beat the game, but momma always said I was a little "slow out of the gate" . neo
  8. Ah, I haven't loved Green Lantern this much - EVER! Johns is making what may be one of the coolest and deep mythos ever! Used to, for me, GL was one of the most simple heroes. He's just a space police officer with powers. But now you are seeing that him personality, his WILL, is his most outstanding power. And now, with the introduction of the other colors, it's just cool to see. I have no idea where it's going, but Johns has got my full attention at the moment! As for what I'm working on. There are several things actually. I'm working to make high quality graphics of each of the Lanterns, for several reasons (Minimates included). I also made a Theme for both my PC and my PSP off of the emblems. I've always liked Emblems for things, The Bat, The S, The Shield, etc. They are more than 1 person, they are icons! I love using them all in creative ways!! neo
  9. I konw that people probably think I'm just jerking them around for the drama, but really don't listen to that kind of music. I have heard "Hey There Delilah" and actually like it alright, but I never knew who sang it, I thought it was just a solo artist. I have heard of "The Who" and "The Cars" but I couldn't name one song they sing. And I do know the "Foo Fighters", but only because one of their guys was on like Nirvana or Chili Peppers or something like that right?!? Listen, I'm not trying to be objectionable, I just don't listen to that kind of music so I don't follow it. I'm sure there are a handful of songs (Like the Delilah song) that I would probably recongnize while playing the game. But it's not enough to warrant a purchase for me. neo
  10. <snip> I now await your hate replies. Dude, I don't think you'll get too much hate. Maybe from Timbo, but he doesn't count, . I would agree to a certain extent. Games for me have always been about one thing: Are they fun to play? If it isn't fun to play, what's the point?!?!?! For me, there are a number of games that just aren't fun, but what we find fun can be different. For instance, I think that Forza is the WORSE racing game of all time and I'd rather have a prostrait exam by a Russin Bodybuilder than to play that game. BUT, someone who is really good at sim racing can probably play that game and have a lot of FUN. So, before we blackball all the gamers, let's classifly that fun is interpretted different ways. As for your statments, I do aggree that the Wii skipped the "Next" gen and went into what Reggie called a "New" gen. Wii Sports, Boom Blox, Mario Kart, among others have proven that the Wii can be used to do what no other platform can do. HOWEVER, Halo 3 and Oblivion and Gears of War are also Epic Battles that take you to a different world and are most definitely fun. So, while I agree that Wii has put Gameplay first, it's not enough just to come up with a new controller, the game still has to be fun (Yeah, I'm looking at you Red Steel!) I have to be honest, my Wii hasn't been turned on in several months now. The last game I played was Wii Fit, around Launch time. Nintendo may be making revolutionary games, but they are not making fun games (see my Wii Music topic, lol). So, your argument is valid and while I agree some, games are about having fun and that normally revolves around gameplay, but not always! Now, onto Timbo: Dude, you are supporting my point exactly. These songs are not obscure to the Christian Rock listeners, in fact most of these are household names. However, your reaction to Guitar Praise's list is the exact same as mine is to Rock Band. This has been the argument that we've had from day one dude. I don't listen to secular rock music and outside of several hugely popluar bands that I've heard of (Aerosmith, Guns and Roses, etc) thanks to POP culture, that music is completely foreign to me. Now maybe you can understand where I'm coming from. Ask yourself, honestly, if there was no Guitar Hero and only Guitar Praise, would you buy it? It plays just as well as GH and is just as much fun, but it's all Christian music. So, the answer is no, you wouldn't spend $100+ on a game that you didn't know the music for, no matter how fun. And, I feel the same way about GH/RB, I'm not going to spend 100+ on a game that caters to an audience that I'm not a part of. However, if Rock Band, like I'm been saying, was ever to offer other genre's of music through DLC I would jump on board. But for not I'll settle for a game that I can fully enjoy! neo
  11. WOW - Good job man. I've had mine since launch and haven't broken 8,000 yet. Congrats!!!
  12. DUDE!! You are the MAN! Not only did you answer lightning fast, but that is a perfect for what I was looking for. It's like you went into my mind and pulled out what I was thinking about........are you you aren't a Guardian? Thanks again! neo
  13. Even though they were one of the forerunners of Christian Rock, there is no Third Day. Digital Praise is good about releasing song packs though, so there's chance in the future. Here is the current song list: 12 Stones - Broken Bride - Same Ol' Sinner Caedmons Call - There You Go Casting Crowns - Lifesong Chris Tomlin - Made to Worship Darrell Evans - So Good To Me David Crowder Band - Foreverandever Etc. Day Of Fire - Reap and Sow dc Talk - Jesus Freak Family Force 5 - Love Addict Flyleaf - Perfect Hawk Nelson - The Show Hawk Nelson - Friend Like That Inhabited - Rescue Me Israel & New Breed - All Around James Clay - Franklin Park Jared Anderson - Blind Man Jennifer Knapp - Undo Me Jeremy Camp - Tonight Jessie Daniels - What I Hear Jonah33 - Father's Song Josh Bates - Perfect Day Kutless - Beyond the Surface Kutless - Hearts of the Innocent Lincoln Brewster - Spin Nate Sallie - All About You Nevertheless - The Real Newsboys - Something Beautiful Paul Baloche - Rock of Ages Paul Baloche - All The Earth Will Sing Your Praises Petra - Backsliding Blues Pillar - When Tommorrow Comes Red - Breathe Into Me Relient K - I Need You Seventh Day Slumber - Awake Skillet - The Older I Get Skillet - Rebirthing Skillet - Savior Spoken - Wind In My Sails Spoken - Falling Further Spur 58 - Sleepwalkers Stellar Kart - Procrastinating Superchick - We Live The Crucified - The Pit This Beautiful Republic - Going Under Thousand Foot Krutch - The Flame in All of Us Thousand Foot Krutch - The Art of Breaking tobyMac - I'm For You Todd Agnew - This Fragile Breath Warren Barfield - My Heart Goes Out Whitecross - Who Will You Follow Whitecross - When The Walls Tumble Down Not too bad for a start! Oh yeah, and sorry about the RRoD! Been there, done that, don't want the T-Shirt. Hopefully all will be well for you quickly! neo
  14. Hey guys. I'm working on a project and I'm looking for the emblems of the Other Colored Laterns from the current Lantern story. I have Sinestro Corps and Green, obviously. But I'm needing Red, Blue, Orange, Violet, and Indigo. If anyone knows where I can find them I'd appreciate the help! neo
  15. First, back onto my LEGO Batman train, this game is so much fun. TT's LEGO games have been one of my favorite series over the last Gen into this one. A lot of the complaining comes from the inability to die and the challenge to the player. However, I'm fine with those issues as long as the game is fun to play, and LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Indy, and LEGO Batman have all been fun to play. Just an observation though, I love how TT always brings the LEGO sets into the games. I love how they sit down with the sets and are like, where can we put this in the game. Everything from their batmobile to Harley's Hammer Truck. Very cool! I really do love the game. I got to play my first Batmobile level and Had a blast. And, on another note, I got Guitar Praise in the mail yesterday!! For those of you not following our early conversations, I don't care for Rock Band/Guitar Hero much because of the music. And thanks to Nestle we found a company called Digital Praise that released a game called Guitar Praise which is basically a poor man's guitar hero but with all Praise and Worship music. Anyway, I have to say I'm impressed. I knew going in to not have my hopes very high. This is a cheapo version of the game and I knew it wouldn't be anywhere close to par for the course, so I had low expectations to begin with. But, I was suprised in a number of ways. First, the Guitar. The game comes with a Wireless Guitar. It looks to be modeled after the Guitar Hero III guitar (don't know the name, sorry). In fact, the even has the indention where the Xbox Home buttn would be, only it it covered up and painted. The Guitar is black, with the same Green/Red/Yellow/Blue/Orange button lay out of the GH guitar. It has a white plate on the body of the guitar and a Chrome strum button. There are also two additional chrome buttons that control the Volume of your guitar in the game, kinda neat. The Guitar is solid and feels very well. In fact, I personally think it's better than my friend's RB1 Guitar (haven't played with the RB2 one), while it's not as nice and tight as the GH Guitar! Now, the game itself is really where you can the hit. It's set up where you can set up a profile for your player that includes level of difficulty and name and guitar, etc. They you can "Play a song" where the computer puts a random song and you are strumming away. Or you can choose play a set, where you play a set of 5 songs, and have to beat 3 to open up a new set. The songs are really great for fans of Contemporary Christian music: Reliant K, Skillet, Jennifer Knapp, Chris Tomlin, Casting Crowns, Jeremy Camp, just to name a few. Where the game really fails though is the Note Highway! The game has very crude graphics with lame backgrounds. The amount of polish that you see in GH and RB is just not there. The notes are Triangles (instead of Circles or Dashes), but that doesn't effect me as much as I thought. It's just very crude, that's best word I can think of. There is not shine to the notes, there is no shadowing, it's basically just a MS Paint Triangle floating up the highway. But, games are always about Gameplay and not graphics (I learned that phrase because I'm a Wii owner ). So the good news is the game plays great. I didn't have any trouble with notes not picking up or missing a strum or anything that I thought may happen. In fact, on my 3 songs (easy difficulty - I'm still new to this, lol) I got a 221 note streak without a problem. So, while I wish either RB would get some Christian Rock or we would have a better looking games, Guitar Praise makes a great stand in for one of the best games of our generation. While I will say, if you like (or can tolorate) obscure rock music go for RB or GH, but if you are looking for a Clean alternative with good values Guitar Praise is a nice alternative! neo PS - I'll try to get some pictures and even vids this weekend!
  16. I agree on the Nightwing part. He is probably my favorite DC Hero ever. I really wish he played a more important part, but it's all good thanks to free play! One thing I do with they would change. I wish I could pick the character that I want as my "Favorite". For instance, every time I boot up LEGO Batman I'm Batman (with Robin). That's not bad, because Batman is awesome. But everytime I boot up LEGO Star Wars I'm Qui Gon (with Obi Wan) - NOT AS COOL!! I like how on Madden you get to choose your favorite team at the beginging of the game and they use that to change your background and stuff. It would be cool to be able to choose your favorite Character from the game and always start the game as that person, rather than having to run around and HOPE they show up sooner or later. Again, this doesn't effect the game being cool at all, just something I would have liked to see! neo
  17. Alright guys, two words: LEGO Batman!! Anyone else pick it up? I got it as soon as I left work yesterday and played for several hours last night. It's great, WAY better than LEGO Indy (and I really liked LEGO Indy). I'm holding my Verdict on whether it's better than LEGO Star Wars right now, only because I haven't played a vehicle level. I'm actually having more fun with the standard levels then I had with Star Wars. And it's kinda cool it's not based off of any movies because it gives you more variety and a Comic Book feel. The one MAJOR draw to the Star Wars games though was the great vehicle levels. They didn't have any of that in Indy, but you can clearly see 10 or more vehicle shadows that are unlockable from the menu, so I know there is some vehicle stuff to do. If they pull of the vehicle stuff good, this may be the best LEGO game yet! I'll try to come up with a mini review after I've played a little more, but for now I'm loving it. Can't wait to get home tonight and play some more!!! Also, on a side note, I got my confirmation email that Guitar Praise has shipped and I should have it around Friday. This will be an interesting review to say the least, but I'll let you guys know how it is once I get it. neo
  18. Well, I guess we either have limited Heroes fans around here or just no one that wants to talk. So, as you all know, I'm all for a good discussion . I watched both episodes in HD last night and thought it had it's ups and it's downs. There is really too much to process, but here are my initial thoughts: The Petrelli Family - The reason that I stayed through season 2! I loved Season 2 Peter!! I was hoping for more of the same, and am a little disappointed so far. First let me say, the reveal of Nathan's Shooter was not only shocking but made me smack myself for ever doubting the series. That being said, I don't like Scar Peter (or Future Peter if you prefer). I know there is more to play out, but I miss regular Peter. Nathan on the other hand I love, and I think he is perfect in the Political kind of setting. I love they are getting him back in a suit! I hope to see that develop. Not sure about the "Angel" idea yet. Religion can sometimes be a huge about error for a character if not handled correctly, but I'm willing to play along. And the Linderman thing is a BIG suprise. In fact, of all the characters so far, I think Nathan has the most going on! I'm glad that Angela is back F/T, I love her character and all the mystery behind her role in the whole story. I wii say that I don't like the choice to show Peter with the Villians. They should have showed the Bad Guy and just Peter's reflextion. I think in the long run, seeing peter with the group is going to be counter productive and maybe even a little confusing! Hiro and Ando - Very disappointed with Hiro's arc right now. I liked Hiro at the end of Season 2. He was beginging to believe in himself and he was more serious and he seemed like a threat, like when he was going to take on Peter. Now, nothing, he's like a little kid that needs his diaper changed again. And, I'm getting sick of the, "I'll go to the Future and see what's up". It's kind of like a cop out and didn't we do that in the 1st season! Come on!! I still love Ando and I was glad to see that he had powers. I'll will be cool to see that progress. Parkman - Outside of Nathan, my favorite arc has been with Parkman. I thought it was super dumb in the 1st episode, but in The Butterfly Effect it starts to get interesting. Matt meets a guy in Africa that can Paint (like Issac), and knows about Matt. This could be very cool, I'm very interesting in seeing where that goes! Mohinder and Maya - Let's tackle Maya first. I don't like her, haven't liked her since day 1! She's very beautiful, I won't argue that, but this isn't "The Hills". She's as shallow as 4 once cup of V8! She needs to bite the big one this season and fast. As for Mohinder, I can't say I'm liking his progression so far. He's basically turned himself into a poor man's Spider-Man. However, he's not as funny or believable. It just doesn't work for me. That whole scene with him crawling up the wall made my stomache turn. It's lame. THAT being said, the twist we see toward the end, with the effects of the transformation does leave some interest. So, I'll hold my final thoughts until we learn more but this could turn into a very rewarding angle! Sylar - Don't get me started. In the first episode Sylar was laughable. Seriously, the whole thing with chasing Claire around the house. Then, not being able to get through the dang door. Seriously, I know he's kind of a sissy, but can't the dude kick open a paper thin Pantry door? Honestly, my wife could have kicked that door in. I like the idea of Sylar as a bad guy, especially in the begining, but I don't know where they are taking him now.......which leads me to........ Claire and Noah - Teaming Noah with Sylar is going to be weird but I think it will be cool, they are two of the best actors on the show. But even more weird is going to be the fact that Claire is going to be following along. You can't trust Sylar, but him and Claire now share a bond. I don't know how that dynamic will work, but I love Noah, probably the most consistant cast member, so I'll give it time. I'm getting very tired of the "woe is me" crap from Claire. She is not my favorite by a longshot. Villians - Well, we've really only had a few scenes with them in it. I like that they are truly evil. The scene where Flame Guy just charbroiled that lady at the gas station was intense, but it shows that they stakes are raised. I could see them becoming very interesting. Super Fast Girl - Believe it or not, I actually liked her. She's cute and spunky. She has no depth yet, so we'll see how that develops. Nikki/Jessica/Tracy - Oh give me a break. This feels a lot like Maya to me. Ali is hot, they need to have eye candy, I get it. But at least make her an interesting character. What is the connection, how does it fit. I'm willing to sit on this one while they develop it, but FYI I don't like that she's back.......at least not yet! Overall Story - Not sure.....not sure. It looks like we are going down the "Save the World" routine again. Don't get me wrong, I know with this many heroes we have to see a large conflict. But didn't we already do this. Hiro went to the future and saw Tokyo destoryed.....didn't we already see that.......oh wait, that was New York, completely different thing, my bad. One thing that I thought was cool about season 2 was they went for the whole "Virus wipes out humanity route" rather than "Big explosion" route. They seem to be reverting back to the same idea from season 1. What would I like to see? Hero/Villian Deathmatch. You set up a show by titling the season "Villians", I expect a Secret Invasion type of battle. I don't care about Tokyo exploding, I care about beating the bad guys! So, did I miss anything? Overall I liked the first two episodes. It gave me some big things to look forward to, but also threw up some flags I'll be watching closely. It's too early to rate the success of the year, they have a lot going for them. I don't think it was as strong a start as they needed, but it will do. I'd probably rate the 2-hours together around a 6 or 7 outta 10, but I'd have to say the potential for the season is around a 9! So, for the time I'm hooked again. Let's just hope it gets better and not worse! neo
  19. I wouldn't tell you that you're wrong, that's Timbo's job. But, I would like to add that I am aware they system is made for more user friendly, casual gaming mainly because of the remote. I get it and I love Wii Sports and Boom Bloxs for that very reason. My point is, Nintendo has the ability to makes hardcore games even without the Bells and Whistles. The system was launched with Twilight Princess (even though it was a GameCube game, it was still amamzing). Then there is Metroid Prime: 3. Super Paper Mario is another great one. And, of course, the best on the system so far, Super Mario Galaxy. All I'm saying is that we are going into a holiday season without once single significant Nintendo release. It would be a different story if we'd had a bunch of other stuff this year, but we have. We've got Smash Bros and that's basically it. We did get Mario Kart, but that was even made more of a Casual game....much like Animal Crossing. Where is Pikmin 2? We've heard a lot about Kid Icarus, where is it? Luigi's Mansion 2? F-Zero? Star Fox? Kirby? New Zelda? Metroid? Fire Emblem? PokeMon? and I could go on but I won't. Heck, I'd even settle for the oft rumored Metroid Prime Remake which includes the first 2 games with Wii Controls. Just something for the hardcore people that have stayed by Nintendo though the GameCube days! Throw us a bone! lol All of that being said, Nintendo did announce a Media Event for the October last week. What that means, I'm not sure, but maybe they've realized after all the negative feelings from E3 that they better do something. So, I still refuse to even look at Wii Music in the Game Case, I am still going to hold out Hope that Nintendo may actually have something to offer to me by the end of the year! neo
  20. So, Nintendo has announced the release date for Wii Music: October 20th. Wii owners, we need to make a stand. I'm petitioning to all the Wii Owners here on the board to NOT buy Wii Music, and encourage all those you know to NOT buy the game as well. Nintendo has turned it's once diehard fanbase into a second thought as they push boxes of crap onto the store shelves and lure in the Casual Gamers. While there is nothing wrong with that, to think the only 2 notable Nintendo releases this year is Animal Crossing and Wii Music is laughable. However, as a Nintendo fan, there has been more that once that I've bought crap just because it said Nintendo on the box - - - Yeah, I'm looking at you Link's Crossbow Training. So, I'm writing to plead with you guys to stop this madness. If we as a whole can show Nintendo that they will have to put a little more effort into their games to make them hits, maybe they'll start respecting the fans more. So, I'm calling all the Wii Owners to Arms. STOP - BUYING - CRAP!! Won't you join me in my quest! Pass the word, tell all your friends. No Wii Music. No Wii Music. No Wii Music. I rest my case. neo
  21. LOL at karamazov. I would just LOVE to see Moses shredding a sweet old testiment Fender! HaHaHa Man, that really made me crack up. Of course, throwing something campy like that in the game would be a selling point! As for the songs, I agree with the Reliant K, but even more there is no Third Day!?! How does that work? Third Day is one of the forefathers of Christian Rock. The cool thing is that with their "Dance Praise" game they've released several song packs. Hopefully we will see the same thing with Guitar Praise. neo
  22. Ah, you guys just talking about it makes me wish they would bring that and the 90's X-Men cartoon to DVD. I was roughly 13 and growing during the life of those shows and they were part of my daily schedule. If you rememeber back on Fox (when Fox Kids was actually good), we had Spider-Man, X-Men, and Power Rangers all after school. And then new episodes on Saturday. It was the best time to be a kid!! Even though some of the stories were a little out there, they did a great job capturing the essence of Spider-Man and the X-Men! neo
  23. HaHa Timbo, You're a funny Duck! I never said all Rock is bad, it's just not the only gerne of music in the world. The Punisher: Welcome to the big time bro. I've always been a Nintendo fanboy so I was hesitant picking up my 360. But, since it was the only console released that year, I thought what the heck. Since then, I haven't looked back. The Xbox 360 is my favorite gaming platform of all time, and the new Fall Dashboard update is going to make it even better. Here is a bit of advice since your new: -Get online! LIVE is one of the best things that the 360 has going for it. Once you are online you need to post your gamertag back here so we can all add you. As far as games online, CoD4 is still amazing, but I would say Halo is even better. It's funny, I loved Halo 3 and when CoD came out I stopped playing Halo cold turkey. However, I grew out of my CoD phase and picked up Halo 3 again and it was love all over again. Both are great games. I would also say if you are a sports fan Madden is a must have for LIVE. And on the Arcade front, Worms and Castle Crashers are must haves! -Check out the Arcade. We all have different opinions about the Arcade. Some people here have never owned a game. I own like 30 and I love it. The cool thing about XBLA, unlike the PSN and WiiWare, you can download a free trial of every game released. So, you never have to wonder if you will like it. Some games are truly miraculous and some are a waste of matter, but you get to be the judge. A few recommended are, as I said above, Worms and Castle Crasters. Also, Bionic Commando Rearmed, Alien Hominid, Pac Man Championship Edition, Braid, 1942, Pinball FX, and Tetris Splash! But again, look around for yourself, there are a lot of great little games to buy/play! -Since you are coming in late, you need to review the back catalog from the first few years. Time is actually on your side because some of those games are still amazing and you can get them now for good prices. You should definitely check out Elder Scrolls: Oblivion! That game will rob your life, but it's amazing. Even with Fallout 3 due next month, it's still work playing for a first timer. Crackdown is another early game that worth a look. It's a sandbox game (ala GTA) where you play as a police officer with almost super human abilities. As you level up you can pick up cars and scale buildings in a single jump. You also see your rides evolve with your character and change right before your eyes. And there is some very fun ragdoll physics going on! Tom Clancy: Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter is another great game. There are actually two games, GRAW and GRAW 2. Both are very similar and very fun. They are 3rd person Military games, so it's a nice change of pace from all the 1st person games. And finally, even though it's more recent, BioShock is a game you should check out. It's more of a 1st Person Adventure game. The draw for the game is the Narrative. You are seeing this underwater world for the first time and it's breathtaking and horrifing all at the same time. Anyway, hope that helps, but I'm just glad you're on board. You will not regret it. Again, be sure to get us your gamertag because I'm sure everyone here will want to add you to their friend list! neo
  24. Dude, you are awesome!! I've just preordered me a copy, lol. This thing looks like Crap, but I can put up with that to have this game! Too bad its for PC only, guess I'm going to have to run a PC Cable to my HDTV! neo
  25. Oh cool, Hulk Vs Danny Devito.......I've been waiting for that one!! neo
