  1. Burnout Paradise.............Thoughts?? I've been really looking at this game. I've never played a Burnout game before. I downloaded the Demo and it was pretty fun, but I'm not sure if the game is worth a full purchase. What say you board?
  2. Yeah, Dan's right. Of course, you will lose any achievements that you've unlocked, but if you are only on a trail version, just create a new gamertag. The good news is you won't be stuck with a name you don't like. The bad news is, you'll have to unlock the stuff again, but that isn't so bad!
  3. Just drop your gametag here on the board. We'll all send you a friend invite and we can play! Or, if you'd like to look me up, send me an invite to: neoiego (as shown below)! neo
  4. Aw, that kinda stinks. I like Smallville and if this is the last season of the show I'm going to miss my superhero fix (not counting Heroes of course). I would prefer that they keeps shows like this going. There is so much to choose from. Here are a few ideas that I have: DC: Nightwing - Graysons, bad idea, Nightwing, good idea! The reason this won't work is because of Bruce Wayne/Batman. Until WB lets the character be used, the whole world is off limits (that includes a Gotham PD/CSI type show). Nightwing would make a great 2 hour Pilot where Batman and Robin split. The story can then follow Dick leaving the comforts of a Mansion and unlimited cash and starting a new life on his own. Knowning that being a hero is part of him, he takes on a new mantle as Nightwing and learns to sore solo. It could be a wonderful story with the occasionally Batman (and even new Robin) cameos. Green Arrow - He's already been introduced in Smallville, and he's much cooler than Aquaman! This could be set in Star City. New cast, a brighter, lighter tone. This could be a great series. I would also add, a Green Lantern cameo is a MUST! Green Lantern Corps - I would like to see a GLC series in the vein of the new Clone Wars animated series. There is just too much in GL to make it live action, but with the technology like it is today, an Animated take on the Green Lantern universe for an adult audience would be amazing. Also, you could bring in Hal, John, Kyle, and Guy plus the others and still make it work. Marvel X-Men - I wasn't sure I wanted it until I saw Heroes, now I have to have it! I think it could one of two ways. What I would prefer is a re-telling of the X-Men's beginnings in a more realistic world. The story would start with a Young, walking Prof. X and Magneto. It would have the Smallville "No Tights/No Flights" policy for the first season. The story would be about Erik and Charles recruiting (like Jean in X3). They are young and they are friends. They start with Jean, they Scott and you add Henry, Warren, and Bobby. You also add Blob, Sabertooth, and Mystique. The story is about Charles teaching them peace and Erik teaching them war. The bulk of the mutants story is going to high school and dealing with being different and keeping it to themselves. Obviously, they can fit in but their powers are a constant struggle. On the side of Erik and Charles, it's always a discussion about their future. Half way through the story we would meet Wanda and Pietro, maybe being part of "Weapon X" and used as weapons. That sends Erik over the top and he finally makes up his mind that the humans must pay. That would lead to a season finale confrontation between Charles and the X-men (Cyclops, Beast, Iceman, Marvel Girl, and Angel) vs Erik and the Brotherhood (Blob, Mystique, Sabertooth, Quicksilver, and Scarlet Witch). From their, the sky is the limit! Ghost Rider - The only hiccup here would be the SFX. If they can't get the skull to look right on a TV budget they shouldn't do it. Here I think it would be a brand new story with a new Rider (not blaze or ketch). I think they should explore the whole "Spirit of Vengence" angle. It should be, almost, like an Incredible Hulk syndrome. The rider has no control over the vengence. It would even be cool if the rider was a NYPD Cop. During the day he is tracking a killer who keep murdering "bad" people, but even though they are bad, murder is the not the answer. Turns out at night, he turns into Ghost Rider and he is the one taking out the vengence on those victims. So he is actually hunting himself and as the series progresses he finds out that it's actually him. In fact, it would be interesting for the audience not to know it for a while either. Let them believe that there is a Ghost Rider taking out vengence on Murders and Druggies and there is a Cop chasing him down. Let them invest themselves in that story and then, with the main character learn the truth. If it's written well, I think it would be a sweet series! You could even call the show "Vengence", as noone knows who Ghost Rider is, lol. Just some ideas. As popular as the movies are, and Smallville, you'd think we could get some quality TV shows. neo
  5. No Gears for me. I have no interested in that game whatsoever. I have been playing Quantum of Solace recently, and I have to say it's really good. I'll have to play some more, but every time I go to put it in, my Fable II case looks at me with those sad eyes . neo
  6. It's not "FUN". If you are looking to tone a little muscle, maybe drop a few pounds and are consistant it's a great tool. But if you are looking for a game to enjoy and have fun with it's really a waste. I have it, I haven't stepped on the board in over 4 months. I worked our for about a month straight (lost about 12 pounds too). After that it was every now and then, until I realized that I don't like working out and that dang board isn't much fun. So, I threw in Call of Duty and went back to being chubby and having fun! If you can afford and it and will put it to good use, it's worth it. But if you are looking for the next "Wii Sports" you will be truly disappointed! neo
  7. I really think it's all in the WAY you play. You can speed run though anything. I've heard a statistic that MOST (see: not all) story driven games can be beat in 1 hour or less be the people who have made them or fanatics who memorize them. To me, what extends the life of a game is getting lost in the game and becoming part of that world. I've played Fable II since launch, maybe close to 10 or 12 hours, and I've only found the 1st (or 3) heroes. I have two families, a kid, several shops, I've unlocked a lot of my magic powers and tons of other stuff. So, I know that I'll probably get 30+ hours out of Fable. So, I really just think it's the way you play the game, and if you are always playing for the ending then you will almost always be dissapointed! On another note, I'm picking up Quantum of Solace tomorrow. The game is not getting much love, but I still find myself drawn to it. I can't understand how a game build on the COD4 engine with James Bond can be that bad! Anyone else interested in QoS? neo
  8. I played a little more of LBP last night. But I have to say, I think I'm addicted to Fable II. Again, I never played the first one, so this is a brand new experience for me. I actually think I like the game more than Oblivion. I actually progressed a little last night and left Bowerstone. I just found "Hammer". I can't wait to play all weekend! neo
  9. Hi, My name is Chris.... **hey Chris** ....And I can't stop buying video games........ Dude, you are telling me. I've officially went broke this year. I'm not getting a dang thing for Christmas either, lol. I haven't normally had this problem. Usually it's 2 or maybe 3 games for Christmas and I'm good. This year has blown my mind, and I'm even skipping some! But, I have to say, I'm looking forward to every single one of them. I've never looked forward to Thanksgiving break as much as I do right now, lol!! As for MUA, there is no way, as of now, to get the downloads for free. They are downloadable content so they are not in the game at all. You have to download the data so they will be in the game. But I will say that Hawkeye is worth every penny . Man, now you make me want to pick that game up again......and I don't have time man!!!!! neo
  10. Sorry to double post, but it's been a few days! I honestly don't know how I"m going to keep up this winter. I've NEVER, since I've been a game (1989) had this type of game influx. It's amazing! And not just with the amount of games, but the quality as well! Fable II is still #1 on my list right now. It may very well be one of the best games I've ever played. I just picked up Scene It 2 and Little Big Planet Yesterday, plus I downloaded Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader from XBLA. The latter is for my Wife, she really only likes to play trivia type games, hence Scene it 2 and AYSTAFG. Anyway, I brought it up to mention Little Big Planet. Did anyone else pick this up yesterday? It's my very first PS3 game, and it was well worth it. I've only played a few levels, but it's really fun. I don't know, it plays like a 2D Platformer (See Super Mario Bros.), but the attraction is the level design. Just some of the things they are able to do is amazing. Then, put that together with the fact that you can do the same thing is fantastic. Everything is customizable. I hate that this came out when it did because until I beat Fable it will probably not get the time it deserves, but LBP is a game that I'm happy to own and can't wait to get deeper into it! neo
  11. I agree with working. I don't like doing it in real life and that doesn't change in Fable. I've already leveled my Dog (Rin Tin Tin) up to level 4 treasure hunter and he finds a lot of gold. Plus, I have 3 rental properties and 1 pie stand. So I make most of my money that way and rarely work.......just the way I like it . neo
  12. Well, I've decided to for-go Fallout 3 this week. I do plan on picking up Little Big Planet. In fact, that will be the first PS3 game since I bought my PS3 over 3 months ago. I'm looking forward to it. I'm also picking up Scene It 2 for the 360 and I can't wait for that game. Of course, Fable II is still owning my life right now so I'm not sure how that's going to play out. I was actually going over my current list of games and it's pretty depressing. It looks like this: LEGO Batman: I've completed Hero but not Villain Mega Man 9: I've only beaten 3 bosses Castle Crashers: I have no idea how far I am, but I know I'm less than half done Madden 09: In the middle of my Cowboys Franchise Viva Pinata: I haven't touched this game in 2 weeks and I've only upgraded my garden once! Call of Duty WaW Beta: I'm like level 4...sad, I know Portal: I've bought the full game....have played it once........ Midnight Club LA: I've won 3 races and am still driving a crappy Nissan 240sx Fable II: I haven't even left the first city yet Then, if you tack on Little Big Planet, Call of Duty WaW Retail, 007: Quantum of Solace, You're in the Movies, Lips, and Scene It 2........it's going to be a busy holiday. neo
  13. First, I'd like to say that I'm sorry about your parents. I never like to hear stories like these, especially at 12. I feel for you bro. If you would like to talk or just vent a little, my PM box is always open! As for the system, I would agree and disagree with both Trekker and JCAstick, lol. The Xbox 360 is the best system I've ever owned (and I own all 3 current-gen, PSWii60). They all have their advantages, Xbox has best library and best online experience. PS3 offers best hardware and Blu Ray. And the Wii is the ultimate party machine. As far as what you should do, I agree you should probably stick with your PS2. For several reason, but the most important is money. Even if you traded in your PS2 and all you games, there is a possibility that wouldn't even have enough money for the System. And then, you have to buy games, and most current gen games run $50 or $60. So, even if you could afford to trade in and get the system, if you are low on money and obviously don't have a job, games will be hard to come by. So, you may be best waiting it out and who knows, maybe your parents will feel so bad for doing this to you that they'll get you a 360 for Christmas. It could happen! neo
  14. Well, I picked up Fable II along with Midnight Club LA yesterday. Got some good hands on time last night. I played about an hour of Fable and about 15 minutes of MCLA. Fable, so far appears to be the game I was hoping for. I've only barely made it to Adulthood, but like most games I like to take my time. I spent a lot time in the very begining posing and trying to impress the ladies . Very cool. I finally made it to my "Wagon", lol and began talking to everyone around there. I never played Fable, so I'm new to the game, but I have to say it's every bit as fun as I was hoping. I haven't even got into one battle yet and it's been fun. Tonight I take my leave and begin my journey and I can't wait! MCLA is kinda like the ugly stepsister, lol. I pre-ordered it back when it was due in Aug/Sep, but it kept getting pushed back. I am not a huge racing fan, but what I do like are Tuner Arcade racing games. I have to say that I am really enjoying MCLA as well. Although I only did 3 races (won 2, lost 1), I had fun. I completely re-painted my Nissan 240sx and test drove a few of the Higher Class Cars. So far so good. Of course, this is a game that will get lost in the shuffle in the coming months, but it's a good bit of run to have. It's almost relaxing compared to Fable and the like, lol. Well, I hope to see some of you guys online with Fable, I'm wanting to run amuck in someone else's world! neo
  15. Dude, THANK YOU! I've been saying all along that it's just wise. Whether you like Country Music or not, do you know how many MORE people are going to buy the game now because of the variety!?!?!? Seriously, this is just logical. It doesn't mean Rock Band has "jumped the shark" or that you even have to play the songs, but they have opened the whole Instrument Genre up to a new world of people. Well done! So, anyone pick up Fable 2 last night? The GameStop where I ordered was having a midnight launch. I did not go because I have a family and a job to get up for in the morning so I can afford to wait a few more hours. Any of you go? neo
  16. No to burst your bubble, but looks like a very amature review. Here's an official one, that backs up what I've been preaching: IGN - Wii Music Review Alas, do not buy this game people!!!! neo
  17. I pre-ordered the game a while ago, paid it off completely. And I got an email from GameStop yesterday with my 5/5 code to download the Beta. As far as I know, that's the only way you can get it. If you want to try it out, you can always go pre-order for like $5 to get the Beta and then if you don't like it you can get that money back or put it toward any number of awesome games due out (Fallout, Fable, Gears, Banjo, Little Big Planet, etc). neo
  18. What's the Variant again? It is Rhodie standard, and Mark II Variant? If so that's a rip!?!
  19. Well, I cracked open the Call of Duty World at War Demo last night (and this morning). Anyone play yet? Good news is, it feels almost identical in every way to COD4, only the setting has changed. But, there are a few slight differences that I've noticed. I've only played a couple of matches so I don't have in depth review or anything, but I have to say that I'm really enjoying it! Also, the Dogs are AWESOME! neo
  20. Yeah, I've never been a huge Fighting game, and I've never liked the Smackdown series. But I can't tell you how many hours in college (or classes I missed) thanks to No Mercy (and Wrestlemainia too, lol). We actually made our own belts and had Friday Night Cards for the fights. The winners got to be champ for the week and then had to defend their titles the following Friday. It was some of the best Multi-Player gaming I've ever had! neo
  21. I agree with the Mega Man stuff. In fact, I hated the games when I was younger, because I could never beat them. However, back on the cube I bought the GameCube Mega Man collector and forced my self to play until I was better. Now, I still die a bunch, but I can actually play so it's fun. My biggest gripe with the game is presentation. I love the Old-School look, I just wish it was optional! I like how Capcom redid Bionic Commando while still keeping the same core gameplay. They should have done that for Mega Man. In fact, I still play Mega Man Powered Up on my PSP. Sure, it's kiddy, but I love the new visuals and lush colors. I really with they would have done something like that with MM9! And, just a note, I finally got around to playing several demos last night. MLB Stickball was a joke. That game is possible the worse baseball-esque game I've ever seen. I couldn't even make it through 2 innings without just turning it off. I also played Duke Nukem 3D, and I know that game has it's following, but that game is lost on me. I have no interest to play that game then or now. And I also played Mercinaries 2 and wasn't impressed. There was just TOO Much going on. I know the game is about big explosions and beds of bullets, but I couldn't even drive from the edge of the map to the parking garage without getting blasted out of my truck. Just not my thing! neo
  22. Yes, I love making lists!?!?! But like karamozov, my list probably changes on a daily basis. There are just so many great games and movies, but I'll play along anyway! Top 5 Games 5. Madden <Current Year> 4. LEGO Star Wars 3. WWF No Mercy 2. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 1. Super Mario Bros 3 Top 5 Moves 5. Iron Man 4. Wall E 3. Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl 2. Return of the King 1. E.T. However, I have to say that there are too many movies to make a top 5! Movies like Citizen Kane, Shawshank Redemption, Iron Man, The Presige, Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Ternimal, In Good Company, Titanic, The Incredibles, Toy Story 2, Spider-Man 2, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Jerry Maguire, well......you get the point. neo
  23. Wow, I'm literally thinking about taking a Vacation for a the whole month of November because of Video games. I like to pre-order everything I buy. Not because I'm afraid that it will sell out, I just like to pay them off slowly and then just walk in and pick it up on Launch day. I do the same thing with my DVDs/BluRays. Anyway, I was running over my Pre-Order list for Oct/Nov and this is what it looks like: 10/14 - Indiana Jones: KotCS (Blu) 10/21 - Midnight Club LA (360) 10/21 - Fable II (360) 10/21 - Little Big Planet (PS3) 10/21 - The Incredible Hulk (Blu) 10/21 - Casino Royale (Blu) 10/28 - Fallout 3 (360) 10/28 - Scene It 2 (360) 10/28 - Polar Express 3D (Blu) 11/09 - Kung Fu Panda (Blu) 11/11 - Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts (360) 11/11 - Lips (360) 11/11 - Call of Duty: World at War (360) 11/18 - You're in the Movies (360) 11/18 - Wall E (Blu) And, not to mention the New Xbox Live Experience launching 11/19. Holy Lord Almighty, that's two months people, TWO MONTHS. This is going to be an INSANE time!! As for Halo Recon, I'm not as excited about it as I thought I would be. That doesn't mean I won't follow it closely into next Winter. As for this year, Fallout 3 and Fable II are going to own most of my time. But I have to say, CoD WaW is looking better and better and I can't wait to get my hands on it! neo
  24. Wow, I'm not as Jaded as Jad is. However, I am having some trouble with Heroes. Let me first say that I still enjoy the show and I am in no danger of not watching it right now. That being said, Heroes from season one has been #2 on my list of favorite shows behind Lost. At this point, it's not even must watch for me anymore. In fact, I have yet to watch a show on Monday night. I normally catch them on Hulu a few days later. I used to clear my schedule and order a pizza each week, but the show has just been dumbed down to the point that I'm not as interested anymore. But, when I do get around to watching it I always find myself entertained. However, there are several MAJOR flaws with this show right now that are driving me INSANE! The most important one is the whole Timetravel/Butterfly Effect bull crap. I am getting sick of seeing the future and then the future changing and there really not being any fruit to the whole process. No matter how many times they've shown a "Future" (Post-Explosion, Infection, and now Super Humans) they are all subject to change. They aren't going to happen. It's almost like the lame movie/show/book plots where they invest your time in a situation and then it's revealed that it was only a dream. Why does Peter have a Scar? How did Sylar turn good and who is the child's mom? What happened to Claire to make her evil? How did Matt and Speedy get together? These are all questions that I'd like to know, but in the end it isn't going to matter because it's all going to be changed like none of it ever happened. They are wasting time developing stories that won't come to pass! My other main problem is that Peter is the Hero........but they won't let him be. I liken Peter to Sentry (Marvel Comics). Anytime a big fight breaks out he is gone. For instance, in Secret Invasion, when Sentry was fighting he gets spooked by a skrull and then runs off to cry and is out for the count. This is the same angle they are taking on Peter. Season 1 was amazing with Peter. He was learning to become the hero, learning to use his powers, etc. He was the heart of the show. At the end of the season he could be invisible, read minds, fly, and explode. He should have been the Hero right, "Superman" if you will. The one to stand up when no one else would, that's the path he took all of the 1st season. So, in seaons 2, obviously he was going to rally the troops to take down the company right?!? No, he was locked away in Ireland and the Future for almost the whole season, most of which without a memory. But, the ending turned out good, now he and Nathan and Matt are going to rally the troops right. Nope, way, now he's trapped inside a Villain. Phew, that only lasted a few episodes, now he can.....oh wait, now he's trapped in the future again. It's just frustrating that this season is called Villains and we have bad guys that need to be stopped and Peter should be leading the change, not time hopping!! And the whole thing with Sylar powers makes me sick. To think that now Peter is going to struggle with cutting people's skulls open is uncalled for. I could understand a "Vemon Suit" type story where he suggles for control and then finally overcomes to evil to be the hero we all know and love. With Pete, he will never get rid of that desire, so there will always be an evil deep down inside him. I've honestly got not problem with Gray Heroes, but at the same time I think we also need Black and White. Peter is the White, the good guy again like superman. The guy who will never kill and who will always defend the innocent and weak, but now he's infected with evil. I just don't like what they are doing with Peter, not one bit! Other issues I have include the Villians. Since this seasons is titled "Villains" I'm sure the Villains will play a HUGE role, right. I'm sure they won't die off in the third episode.....right?!?! Ha, The Safe Guy gets gutted, and Banshee gets Loped open by Sylar. Then Blue Hands is back in Prison and I can't even remember what happened to the black guy. But come ON! I'm glad they brought Adam back, he is one of the best memebers of the Cast, but we need BAD GUYS for the season to be called "Villains". There is also the issue of the "created" heroes. The preview shows Angela telling Nathan his powers were injected or whatever they say. So, are they all by product of the injection or are some like Peter truly heroes. And, what is the difference between those. And finally, Hiro is my least favorite character of this show right now. I loved Hiro in season 1, the comedy was good and the oddness of him was believeable. Even in season 2 I liked him being off on his own and becoming a hero. Now, you would think about the NYC even and him coming in to save the day and then all the time he spent in Japan learning to be a hero and even fighting for his life you would imagine that now, he has become more responsible, level headed, and serious. But now, he's still a slapstick waste of screen. He whines about Ando and asks like a 8 year old girl. WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH THE CHARACTER WRITING ON THIS SHOW. The best three things about this show in season 1 were Peter, Hiro, and Sylar. So far, since season 1 Peter has lost his memory and been trapped in the future twice. Hiro spent almost all of his time in the past and now listens to Hannah Montanna. And Sylar, after a nice vacation in Mexico, now gets to be bossed around by the Company. Argh...... So, I can still enjoy some of the action of the show and even look forward to some of the possibility, but Heroes has been from my #2 must watch show to my "get around to it when I have the time" show. It's still fun, but there are too many flaws and writting loop holes for this show to even be mentioned in the same breath as Lost! neo
  25. See, this is what I'm talking about. People keep hating on Nintendo for not catering to the Hardcore fans. Well, what does this say to you haters? Does Sony or Microsoft offer game accessories like this? Eye Toy.....Vision Camera......Microphones.......Keyboard........Game Buzzers........LAME!!! I'm talking about a Cardboard box here people. Seriously, if Nintendo is guilty of anything it's making the Hardcore fans wet their pants with delight. If you Sony/MS Sheep need some tissue let me know, I'll insert it into my Nintendo Wii Teleportation Accessory and send it right over..... ...Wow, I'm getting more cynical with age . neo
