  1. What in the high holy hell?

No thank you, Marvel. No thank you, DST.

Yeah, they also created an Agent Coulson character for the 616 apparently. "House of Ideas" babay!

THAT I am perfectly fine with. Is it "super creative?" No. But it's a SHIELD Agent, of which there are many, making his 616 debut. The idea of there suddenly be a Samuel L Jackson character in the Marvel Universe proper is just weak. Putting him in Steve's old costume is only crappier. Though, if Commander Rogers gets released and Nick Jr. isn't his variant, I WILL need to track down two sets and an Avengers Movie Nick Fury. Just sayin.

with the possibility of Banshee, i wouldn't mind seeing his evil cousin - and Juggernaut's bff - Black Tom Cassidy in the villains poll!

While I'd love to see Tommy in the poll, I find it hard to believe there wouldn't be two other villains I'd choose over him. UNLESS he came with some crazy tree-head and limbs. THEN he might get my vote.

  2. Wave 48 will be a comic book wave for sure, wave 49 will probably be Iron Man 3 which if the leaked set pics are true that means updated Iron Patriot :)

I know all the sites are listing that as Iron Patriot, but I'd be shocked if it isn't actually Detroit Steel. ESPECIALLY if he's getting CGI legs.

  3. For those who think Commander Rogers wouldn't have a variant, he's got the exact same costume as the new 616 "son of Nick Fury" who looks conspicuously just like Samuel L. Jackson. The eyepatch is apparently hereditary.

What in the high holy hell?

No thank you, Marvel. No thank you, DST.

  4. I want to say that when Wrecking Crew has been discussed before, Chuck (I think) said that more than likely they would be spread out over a couple of waves in 2-packs. If Wrecker is in next weeks poll, that'd be a good sign of that.

I think the problem I'm seeing with this poll (and maybe overall) is that so many people are upset because certain characters haven't been made, but totally overlook the fact that 200+ characters have already been made in this line. You're not going to come close to that in any other toy line for any category of figure. Plus, if we got everything shown on the polls now, it'd make it harder for DST to spread things out over time. I'll gladly wait for any character if it means the line keeps it's longevity.

Brothers don't shake hands. Brothers gotta HUG,

While not EXACTLY appropriate, that's how your post made me feel, because I couldn't agree more. Sure, I talk about X-Factor waves and Team X box sets because some characters, I feel, stand the best chance of getting made alongside others they're relevant to. But if Zach came on here and announced that by the end of 2012, I'd get all of my most wanted, Minimates, I'd actually be bummed.

I want something to look forward to. This line is healthy enough that I'm not afraid of ever not getting a certain character. Songbird seemed unlikely, and now looks like a real possibility.

I don't like the Ketch GR. Blaze will always be the Spirit of Vengeance to me.

    Except he wasn't.

The whole "Spirit of Vengeance" shtick started with Ketch as a way to differentiate his Rider from Zarathos. Zarathos was an evil demon barely held in check by Blaze originally, and much of his "heroism" was accidental or motivated of annoyance/pride. "Innocent blood", the multi-purpose chain, the Penance Stare, even the black leather jacket all started with Ketch's Ghost Rider. Zarathos even talks and acts more like "Nobel Kale"(the Ghost that possessed Danny) than himself. Or at least he did.

Now ol' Z has been almost completely submerged by his newest female host. Just goes to show a guy can start out all bad and rebellious, then he mellows a bit as he gets older, but next thing you know some woman is completely bossing him around. Sad.

Every time you remind me female Ghost Rider exists, I'll make a deal with Mephisto to wreak vengeance upon your house.

  5. The thought of Banshee wings for a Siryn/Warpath 2-pack makes me smile. Not to mention, that pack could have a Thunderbird variant.

Waves 48 and 49? Why, Spider-Man: Ends of the Earth and '90s X-Factor, of course. That's why an updated Black Widow, Silver Sable, Strong Guy, or Wolfsbane were nowhere to be found here.

PS - Strong Guy will have the parts (or a variant) to create modern Guido

I agree with everyone else - this poll is too difficult! I ended up going Banshee, just out of X-Men love, and Black Knight, because I love Dane, and want to put him in civil war cap's 90's avengers jacket.

Hmmm... maybe I need to buy an extra Civil War Cap...

Time for me to play "Who would make a good variant"... lol...

    Banshee - Blue & Yellow X-Uniform Clearly

Black Knight II - Black Knight I Seems logical

Commander Steve Rogers - I just don't see this one getting a variant. Too many other great options.

Falcon (modern) - Falcon (Classic) Natch

Gladiator (Shi'ar) - Kid Gladiator seems an easy choice.

Luke Cage (modern) - Power Man Update I like this, but also hope that there's a few extra parts to go from T-Bolts Luke to regular street clothes Luke

Songbird - Screamin' Mimi Or modern Songbird, as she appears with the Luke Cage being offered in this same poll

Winter Soldier - Again, a variant here seems like a waste. Just give us long and short hair and both bionic arms

Um, I'm pretty sure that the Black Knight 2 should just come with both swords and the jacket as an alternate look. If so, I would surely buy two to display them both ways. Variant should be Masters of Evil Black Knight.

    AGREED.

My deal with Gladiator is... he's part of the Imperial Guard. He's definitely the most prominent and well known member... but he's still generally, in most of his appearances, part of a team. I don't want JUST Gladiator in that regard, I have no use for him. That would be like getting JUST Mr. Fantastic, but none of the other members. I don't see the point.

But he's the only damn one toy companies ever make.

'90s X-Men from Toy Biz had B'Nee and C'Cil as well as Fang (well, Wolverine, but whatever) and Corsair, Raza, and Ch'od too.

  6. POLL 2 IS TOO FULL OF AMAZING!!!!

I went with Luke Cage and Songbird, because I could use both standing alongside my Thunderbolts, but honestly, I think Gladiator (don't hit me) is the only one from this poll that I WOULDN'T buy. These are ALL winners! And you, Zach, are an amazing individual.

  7. Okay, maybe one more. Did I tell you guys my plan for wave 52 yet?

Moon Knight (black and grey variant)/Sentry (blue jeans and t-shirt)

Quicksilver (in red motion blur costume)/Hawkeye (in Robin Hood disguise)

Namor (with alternate blonde hair piece)/Songbird (in Rocky Horror outfit w/black fishnets and blonde wig)

    LOL

You seem to have forgotten a pack

Iron Man (transparent green holographic armor/Danvers Captain Marvel (Amazon Warrior armor with black wig)

Of course that would also require a TRU tie in wave consisting of:

Mr. Fantastic (red prototype unstable molecule suit/Invisible Woman (prototype power suit with cape)

Young Avengers Hulkling (XvA X harness and blue cape)/Hawkeye (Sunglasses head and mask head with crossbow)

Angel (in gold hawk armor)/Beast (green fur variation)

Falcon (in gray power armor)/Spider-Man (new blue scarab armor)

    WINNING!

  8. The remaining polls do not line up with the first poll very much at all. There's a lot of Avengers cast members and a lot of X-Men cast members, but not many direct match-ups. Depending on who wins, deciding on logical two-packs may be tricky.

Well, knowing they don't line up, and that Avengers and X-Men characters are our go-tos, I'm pretty stoked. But don't worry, I won't toss out any more predictions...

No, Mnemosis is the one thinking too much. He's got a line plan for every possible nonexistent scenario.

Okay, maybe one more. Did I tell you guys my plan for wave 52 yet?

    LOL

  9. Oh, and, if I'm guessing at the 3 remaining sets of 8? Each set offers up a counterpoint to one of the a-listers, and I tried to spread out which "franchise" doubled up in each case. Asterisks next to who I'd be pulling for, though in some of these cases, it'd be a difficult choice for me.

    Support Team:

Winter Soldier* (with two hair pieces and two cybernetic arms)

    Falcon

Maverick* (again, as the variant, with both Team X and 90s era looks)

    Son of Satan

    Doc Samson

    FF She-Hulk

    Cyborg War Machine

    Deathlok

    Primary Targets:

    Baron Zemo

Team X Sabertooth* (head gear/unmasked head with pony tail and business suit)

    Mojo

    Blackheart

    Abomination

    Dragon Man

    Grey Gargoyle

    Carnage

    Troop Builders:

    Mandroid

    Purifier*

The Angels from Heavens on Fire

    Hulk Dog

    Moloids

    HAMMER Agent

    Spider Slayers

    Mr. Negative's Inner Demons

Deathlok, Doc Samson (especially if offered with a bulked up suited body and pony-tailed hair), Mojo, and Carnage would ALL be hard to pass up, though.

  10. So let's take a stab at the Support Team:

    * Quasar

    * Guido

    Primary Targets (Villains):

    * Zemo

    * Toad

    Army Builders:

    * Phalanx

    * Female Shield Agent

Jatta, based off of your list and assuming we still vote for 2 each time, these are who I'd pick.

Quasar offers up the variant possibilities of Wendell Vaughn/modern

Guido could be packed both in his current look and X-Factor uniform

and of course Zemo has a number of options, but Helmut/Heinrich seems the best way to go

THAT said, my perfect breakdown would be:

    Team X Wolverine

    Team X Sabertooth

    Blue Danny

    Son of Satan

    Team X Maverick

    Purifier

    Maverick

    Purifier

  11. Nope. In fact, when Team X leaps out of the compound running from Omega Red (in what would be chronologically his first documented mission), Logan and Creed survive the fall thanks to their healing factors and Mav makes it based on absorbing the impact of the fall.

His retconned power was... acid touch? I think... as Agent Zero

  12. TEAM X WOLVERINE!!!!

    ::ahem::

It would be rad if Deathlok shows up in the support staff poll... Maverick could be a nice round-out for team X Wolvie (although as another mutant-power-to-inexplicably-make-things-go-your-way-while-shooting-guns-at-people character, I wasn't crazy about him).

I would buy both Deathlok AND Maverick in a heartbeat. But you're wrong about Mav's powers. Kinetic energy absorption redirected as blasts. Imagine Sebastian Shaw and Bishop combined. He couldn't absorb lasers like Bishop, and he wasn't strong like Shaw, but hitting him meant he could zap you.

Spidey & wolverine....... Hopefully next week the supporting ones will be deathlok & maverick!

YES YES YES a thousand times yes! Except, I voted for Danny with Logan.

  13. I didn't see anywhere else for this, so I'm starting a new topic with this idea:

An open-palm "leapfrog/handstand" hand that would have a peg in the palm, and jump bases/stands with a hole bored into the top of the foot peg. You could then place the palm peg into the hold of the foot peg to create the effect of a figure leaping, cartwheeling, hand standing, etc.

Picture Spider-Man, legs forward/to the sides, one arm down and pegged into a jumping base, "leapfrogging" over a charging Rhino.

Picture Daredevill, hand pegged into an MvC3 style base, planting both feet on Bullseye's jaw.

Picture Puck cart-wheeling, Batroc back-flipping, or Wolfsbane loping into action.

Mates are small enough that a peg system of this size OUGHT to work, but if it's not enough, I'm sure DST could come up with something similar along these lines to create the same effect.

  14. Sigh. Yes, it's a 90s X-Factor Wave. Val Cooper and Random are the TRU Exclusives. Yadda yadda yadda.

    i would so buy this

I'm ashamed to say how all over this set I would be, too. Although I might go this route, instead...

    Comic shop

    Havok/Polaris

    Bulked-up Strong Guy/Val Cooper

    Quicksilver/Multiple Man

    Avengers-green Quicksilver/Multiple Man

    TRU

    Toad/Bulked-up Blob

    Forge/Banshee (blue and yellow)

    X-Factor Wolfsbane/Purifier

    X-Force Wolfsbane/Purifier

    Con Exclusive Boxset

    Therapist Doc Samson

    Mystique

    Sabertooth

    Random

  15. Retook some pics. They're kind of huge now, so I'm just going to do a passthrough to Photobucket

    ENJOY!

Very cool Winter Soldier!

Who's the orange-haired dude next to Hawkeye?

That's Black Wdiow when she was wearing her jacket for a while.

Once Dazzler is in my hands, Cap gets HIS jacket back and Tasha gets Allison's, which is more befitting the female form... of a Minimate.

  16. Thanks Zach! I take pride in my figure displays. You guys should see what I've done with some of my Joes...

Nice Display, is that a winter Soldier Custom I spy by Moon Knight?

Thanks! And yes it is! Spirit head, movie Havoc legs and right arm, Wolverine Origins Sabertooth tac vest, silver leg bit from MAX pilot, and hair and a bionic arm from I honestly don't recall where.

    spoilers much?

To a roughly four year old plot point? I suppose so.

PS - Bruce Wayne is Batman.

  17. Well, I'm sure there will be a few Avengers in various waves and sets, but we have some themed waves coming up that may not necessarily accommodate a Widow figure.

You heard it here, first, folks... '90s X-Factor is on its way. A themed wave? Yes. Possibility for some Avengers in the form of an updated Quicksilver and therapist Doc Samson? Yes. Unable to accommodate Black Widow? Yes.

Thanks for the great news, Zach! LOL
