  1. Hi, guys. Been gone about a year, thought I might announce my return. I was a hyper, egoic pain in the butt before--now, I'm still a hyper, egoic pain in the butt, but to a lesser degree. I'm really out of the loop, though, when it comes to the Minis. Fetched myself quite a few in the past solar cycle, but still missing some. I may need some help procuring information; you've been warned.

Made a few appearances here and there, but now I'm really back. Good to see you all again. ;)

  2. She really, really, really looks like a middle-aged Agatha Harkness to me. She's not...I don't know..."slutty" enough, I guess. :(

And the silver Wolverine--that's just a repaint of the Wave VI one. Kind of disappointing, really. Is it availiable in stores at all?

EDIT: Doy. It's a TRU exclusive, so I'm guessing you can find it at TRU.

  3. Okay, I'm in a bit of a dilemma. I have a second Green Gobby on his way and since I already have one, I thought I might make a custom Hobgoblin out of the second.

The only issue I have is how to paint onto certain parts of the Mate without getting paint on parts I want left alone.

    Thanks!

    Glomit

Well, first and foremost, you can find an expendable Minimate to use as a "holding dummy." Meaning: say you want to paint just a hand, and it's too difficult to just take it off and set it on your desk (it rolls around too much). You can take the hand and insert it into the correct socket in your disposable Minimate, and paint away--without worrying about damaging the "holding dummy." :)

Second, use tape. If you're using spray-paint, or an airbrush, masking and modelling tape is an invaluable tool. You use it to tape off any part near to your current work space that you don't want painted. It's also good for making clean, straight lines with brushes. This is the kind I use: Tamiya Masking Tape. It's really good stuff, and comes in tons of sizes. The smallest, I think, is 6 mm wide. And, it's pretty cheap--3 bucks for a "refill" roll, or about 5 for the roll with the really good dispenser. If you have problems with the paint bleeding through underneath the tape, IT'S NOT THE TAPE. IT'S YOU. :P You have to get it very tight, have it on all the way. :)

    Hope that helps.

  4. Yeah, I was pleasently surprised as well when I went to get my Beast/Kitty Pryde packs, as they were "Price Cut" to $4.99 each. I had to buy five, so spending $25 instead of $30 was great--but what was even better was passing a toy isle as I was leaving, and spotting the G.I. Joe Sigma 6 Cobra H.I.S.S. tank and Iron Hammer marked each for $2.49! :D Needless to say, I was happy. :D

Anyone suppose there's a mirrored "MJ kissing an upside-down Spider-Man in the rain"-scene in Spider-Man 3, except with Gwen Stacy and Symbiote-controlled Spidey? (as part of his "corruption")? :woot::P

That might explain why we're getting a half-masked symbiote Spidey minimate, with a silly smirk on his face...

Precisely my point; I mean, why would "evil" black Spidey have his mask half-up, he's coming with Gwen Stacy, and like you said, Donny--he's got that silly smirk...here's hoping! :PB)
  6. Yep, I've got Rush and Axl (with Ride Chaser [TRU exclusive]) (both Series 2); Megaman, Megaman X, Zero, Vile, Protoman, and Bass (all Series 1, the "fat-faced" versions). Pretty good figures, I guess--I mostly got them because I had been praying for Megaman and Megaman X figures forEVER.

  7. A small one bedroom flat costs around $450,000.
That's precisely what it is around here in Portland, Oregon. $450,000 for a single bedroom. It's why I'm trapped in my house; I've never moved, there's no where to go!:mellow::confused:

You're either joking, or wrong :P
Well, I meant $450,000 for a single bedroom HOUSE, not just a single bedroom :P --and it's just my neighborhood I'm talking about (not a mansion hill neighborhood, just a neighborhood).
  8. ^First of all, "bots" are automated (sometimes, sometimes they're set up by real people) signed up members that make a nonsense topic full of links, advertising something in a very annoying way. A toothbrush bot is a bot that advertises toothbrushes. Yeah, it's happened before, as weird as it sounds. I think we still have the topic open, just as an exhibit. :)

EDIT: Here it is. Boy, was that weird:

We've got big ones, little ones, right-smack dab in the middle ones...
