  1. Not sure how I missed the incredible Transformers you've done, but I just stumbled across them all today. Words cannot do these justice. This is why minimates deserve to be the premiere toy line in the world. Everything looks good as a minimate. Anyway, these are very superbly done and are quite frankly mini-art. Well done!

  2. First let me say congrats to the happy couple. Always nice to see two people so much in love.

And secondly, let me say Nervous, your work is truly amazing. Very inspiring stuff all around and, while I too like Green Ears, I really like Rey. He just looks like a cool character. If you ever decide to sell him, send me a PM please. Anyway, great stuff.

  3. Thanks again for the feedback. Antacost, I took your advise and added white to the eyes on Sasquatch, and really liked it. Thanks for the tip. Anyway, that got me thinking about how Sasquatch needed to be bulked up, and so I've been working on that for the last week or so. I'm not done yet, and the paint needs to be adjusted, but I'm going to wait until all the adjustments are done. I added a "modified Sasquatch" link to the front page. Again any insights on how to make her better, please let me know.

  4. Well, I'm thrilled with all this line has to offer so far. I've already pre-ordered everything currently available and am anxiously awaiting even more. That being said, am I the only one who thinks all the common/variant figures should be paired with Cylons? If you're going to buy two two-packs in order to get the variant, at least let us do some army building at the same time. Just a suggestion, and in no way meant as a criticism of the wonderful efforts we have received this year.

  5. So it looks like multipack boxed sets are going to be a major flavor of 2007. I like the idea, since it seems it would keep costs (at least in terms of packaging) down and make picking them up more accessible. I am looking forward to these, however I'm not sure what the grand total is going to be at the end of the year. Can you claim minimates as a dependent on your taxes?

  6. Just saw these a few minutes ago myself. I cannot believe how many minis are on display. Between these and all the BSG and Rocky minis pictures at Figures, it looks like there will be more mates released this year than all previous years combined. I guess I should start selling off my organs on ebay.

  7. Well, my mini-luck finally ran out tonight. After my initial inspection I assumed everything was okay with my classics. But then I read Rad's post about how the joint doesn't seem like it's breaking, so I rechecked my minis, and sure enough my battle damaged classic lost his left leg at the knee. And exactly as Rad described, there was no resistance or other indication the knee was bad. It posed initially and then when I repositioned it, it simply fell away from the rest of the figure. I guess it had to happen sooner or later, but it is still frustrating to have one of my mini's break.

And yes, I do find it ironic that the battle damaged versions are falling apart.

  8. Updated again today: My Exiles version of Sasquatch in 2.5" scale. I had to custom sculpt a hair piece (which was my first attempt at doing such) and I will probably end up reworking it again later with additional sculpting details to further bring out the hairy effect all over the body (i.e., wrist and foot accent pieces), but for where my skill level is right now, she's done for now. As always comments and suggestions are very appreciated.

  9. Seanus, no harm done and no need to apologize. I'm glad you liked what you saw and appreciate you supportiveness. Wonderman was done very early on, almost a side project before I began working on the Young Avengers, and everything that came afterward. At the time I was very much a novice (not that I'm much better now) and have learned a lot since then.

As to Nico, I really do intend to have a complete set of Runaways, but I'm still trying to think how to execute them properly. If it helps, I'm that much closer to figuring out how to handle Nico's hair after working recently on another custom: Sunfire from the Exiles. I'm finishing her paint job today and should have pics up in the next day or two. I learned what I can and cannot do (thus far) with hair and may have found a way to recreate Nico's unique style.

  10. My collection is nowhere near as impressive as many of those that have gone before me, but considering I've only really been a hard-core plastic addict for about 9 months or so, I thought it was coming along rather nicely. I have acquired nearly all the regular release Marvel Minimates (including most of the variants), have most of the C3 sets, all of the LOTR, most of the SF, a soon-to-be full set of both classic and modern cylons and both Speed Racer mates thus far released. Plus I have a fair amount of customs for a beginner. Anyway, not the best shots, but it gives an idea of how much room they have already claimed in my house.

  11. Seanus, that was my attempt at Wonderman, but I wasn't as happy with how it turned out (after seeing the pic I took uploaded I realized the paint wasn't quite even and seemed off balance). I am currently debating reworking it, or just scrapping it since an actual Wonderman release is now on the horizon. And the larger pic was one of the ones I took recently with the intention of showing my growing addiction, er collection.

And since you've probably seen this one amongst my online collections, I'll share with everybody else: Blight from Batman Beyond Not yet finished, I have to rework some of the details and even out some of the painting.

And once again thanks for the feedback everyone.
