  1. Wow wow wow wow wow, I'm gone from my computer for the Thanksgiving holidays, and I come back to brand new Minimates on store shelves! And I thought my Xmas shopping was all done.

So just to clarify, the Iron Man 2-pack gives us 2 all new figures, while the rest of the packs give us minor repaints or repacks of existing figures. I ask because I'm a loose collector, and since I don't bother about tracking down minor repaints, I'll just need to grab the Iron Man pack, yes?

  2. Dialogue usually comes from the center speaker. I'd recommend increasing the volume of the center. Ideally (for surround sound listening) the volume should be equal across all speakers, and all speakers should be about the same size. However, individual room acoustics can throw that out the window. Are your L and R speakers significantly larger than your center?

  3. There's plenty of hard-core comic geeks here, so let me pick your brains. What are the most iconic, significant, and recognizable buildings or environments of the Marvel and DC universes? I'm more of a casual comic fan, so this is what comes to my mind first:

Xavier's Mansion / School for Gifted Mutants

    Baxter Building

    Wayne Manor / Batcave

    Hall of Justice

I ask because I'm contemplating making some environments for my Minimates to populate. Thanks!

  4. Zartan did change color, but not from exposure to heat - it was from exposure to sunlight!

I had the 'me as a Joe' figure, it was called Steel Brigade. The figure itself was mostly a kitbash of other figures, and they cleverly had no exposed skin, so that any nationality could be represented. It came with a Steel Brigade patch and a dot matrix computer printout (ah, those were the days) of some customized file card type info. Mine never came with a record.

I sold it years ago, but now I wish I hadn't. I think the figures themselves are easy to find, but I doubt I'll ever be able to track down that filecard printout.

  5. ...

"1. Henchmen need not apply. Please contact your union."

    T.

Thanks everyone! Yeah, about that thing about no henchmen. I'm betting that's 'more of a guideline than a rule', to quote Dr. Venkman. I figure if my video is good enough, they won't be strictly anti-henchmen. Besides, isn't Evil founded in the idea that we should break the rules?

  6. I tried to find a thread for Dr. Horrible, but I guess we never made one? Anyway, if you're not hip to the Dr. Horrible jive, check this out first. It runs about 40 minutes.

Back? Awesome. Now we may discuss its greatness at length.

So for the upcoming DVD release, they're going to include fan-made video applications for new members to the Evil League of Evil. More info here:

Well I found myself with a creative streak one afternoon, and threw this together. Who knows, if the Powers That Be like it, I may end up on the DVD! Check it out, I hope you like it!

  7. Very excited for this. The only thing that throws me is the pic of the bridge. I can't figure out if Kirk's chair is still in the center, as from this angle, it looks like Uhura's station is in the center. Weird! Also, the style of the tech is like an Apple fanboy's wet dream - even more so than the space station from Wall-E!

  8. Here's what I don't get. At the beginning of season 3, Future Peter came back from a time where Supers are persecuted, and Claire was bad and tried to kill him (with bullets?). Then Peter came back and changed the past (our present), and now his future is one in which nearly everybody has powers. BUT, Claire is STILL evil, wears exactly the same thing, and still wants to kill Peter - again, with a gun, despite the fact that Peter has Claire's healing power.

Sorry, friends, but I'm about one more episode away from giving up on this show. There's just so much random stuff going on - Parkman on multiple spirit walks, ghost Linderman, Mohinder stupidly injecting himself with the formula. For that matter, why does the super-powerful Company decide, hey, we have this horrible formula that if released could bring about the end of humanity and the earth, so let's write it down, tear it in two, and hide the pieces? What kind of organization works like this???

I'm giving it one more episode. I really want to know their justification for why bringing back Adam is the 'key' to solving the fact that the formula is in enemy hands.

  9. At first, I was going to put together a LOST set, but there's too many characters to choose from. So with only 5 slots open, I'll go with:

    DR. HORRIBLE'S SING ALONG BLOG!

    Characters are:

Dr. Horrible in white lab coat

    Captain Hammer

    Penny

    Moist

.... and Bad Horse, so we can finally have a Minimate horse!

    Accessories include:

    case of wonderflonium

    laundry basket

    frozen yogurt

    death ray gun

    freeze ray gun

A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do, after all...
