Yeah! Mate I want! Wantwantwantwant! Double plus want!
Now if we also see Hawkeye and She-Hulk.... equal best wave of Marvel Mates for me since Wave 2
-
I'm guessing another Fox property...
-
Same reason third series of LOTR mates were cancelled, lack of retailer demand. Of course not having them ready in due didn't help...
Don't think DC Direct will be able to do Movie Mates like DST, as Lego's Batman license reportedly includes all future Batman movies.

Toynami plans on releasing more Futurama stuff (including I-Men) in 2007. Can't remember where, but there was some news about this recently.
*drags the thread from it's grave*
It was likely from an article in one of the recent Toyfare's, the one with the Marvel Legends Civil War on the front cover. While their producing new Futurama action figures in 2007, they will also be re-releasing about 4-6 of the existing futurama I-men in a box-set, but no new characters.

want Jetfire. I hate Macross with a nuclear passion, but still thinks the Classics Jetfire taps all the right buttons to be a Macross/Robotech Valk without being one.
Had a false start because Mirage turned up within the same month as the first lot of Classics, but haven't seen any of the other second wave stuff. And amusing to note it's cheaper to get a G1 Jetfire (admittedly not mint in box) on ebay than a Classics Jetfire
-
Not one suggestion of She-Hulk!?!?! *looks agast, sick, and than greatly saddened*

Hmm...
Attainable Grail: Transformers Classics Jetfire (only just got first Classics in Australia)
Impossible Grail: Gakken Mospeada Tread toy. Heck, I'd even settle for a Landsy...
-
great, two months away for me...
But at least we know why no mention of classic ("Full Classic only if modern and Classic Cylons perform")

Mild update, but at the recent Asian Toys Expo in Hong Kong Popbox had a booth showing off their various upcoming I, Robot pieces including some very early art/details of the Minimate side of things and folks over at Macrossworld have some shots. Trying to get better photos from Minimate stuff, but in all honesty it looks more a I-men figure, the post, shape of hips and makes me wonder if they were trying for I-men through Toynami first...

Well the ebay items are illegal, however go check out the WoW CCG, rare cards ahve a scratch panel that unlocks ingame items.
And that's why each WOW CCG shipment sells out within less than a week at the local comic stores, while the Warcraft figures sit unloved and unwanted even with heavy discounts.

Well, how long after the actual release of the movie and the DVD will we see the X-men: Last Stand mates?
Admittedly the work done on Rocky mates couldn't be as easily re-used if it bombs out, the Last Stand mates basically wouldn't see the light of day if DST didn't decide to salvage the effort spent on them.
-
I still think Marvel is the best killer app Minimates will ever see, heck it's the reason why 2" is the default scale.
Like Kirby mentioned, they aren't a lock because a lot of MMORPGs are only interested in the actual game and little else. Unless each Minimate came with exclusive in-game items/abilities, most wouldn't touch it. Sales would see a spike, it'd probably outpace SF and Speed Racer mates, but it wouldn't be a Marvel or DC...

Handle?
Cyc is short for Cyclone, which I favored both due to a need for a GI Joe/Top Gun callsign for the original Gunship for the C64 and my interested in the transformable motorcycles of Robotech (called Ride Armor in my beloved Mospeada) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyclone_%28Robotech%29
Shortening it was partly due to lazy people, but finally even with getting a Beta Test invite to Robotech.com, someone else still beat me to Cyclone cemented Cyc as my prefered.
It's not short for Cyclops as I foster and foul and unspeakable hatred of X-men, which of course makes me happy that pretty much anything Marvel, be it Minimates or even Marvel Comics themselves, relys upon them to survive ;_;
Avatar is of the Corporate Crusader himself, the one and only Booster Gold! Normally I opt for my own drawings of my prefered Minimtes, including my idea for a Booster back in the dark C3 is dead era, but like the control art they produced.
-
I'd prefer no chases or even rarities. I'm even lukewarm on convention exclusives...
-
Until Shulkie turns up, Bombermate still reigning champeen...
-
Pro = More Speed Mates
Con = The previously shown Speed mates have been dumped because they featured new moldings for yet more part reuse...
-
More interested in Alternators truth be told though.
Which is now dead.
Well... not dead, it's just...uh... resting. They are actually claiming that.
After the movie bombs, they'll bring it back in a vain attempt to try and keep the TF fans sweet IMO
-
They are nice, but only Jetfire will get my wallet open, he combines perfectly IMO both cartoon Skyfire look with Macross VF-1 toy look.
More interested in Alternators truth be told though.

It seems very far removed from the Marvel waves method of big names indeed...
The real question is what's the bet that the vehicles won't appear, just these 2-packs from Previews, 4-packs for TRU and the single Cyclons?
Heck, without Classic Cyclon singles I'd almost say long odds on Classic series...
-
I subscribe to the aura of the new/oh! shiny thing! method and have my most recent out to play with, but apart from that it's the FCBD mate for just generalized goofing/posing.
-
depends on cost/availability...
-
Hmmm... Test the waters with mates that can be reused (Cyclons) or don't require new molding (Speed and his big brother) to gauge interest in continuing lines? Trixie and the Baddie all sport new molding.
'course a Speed Racer 4-pack for TRU needs those two to.... well... be a 4-pack...

Uh.... it looks to be the pre-existing Dark Phoenix/Firestar/Kitty Pride hairpiece to me.
