  1. Wow man, Blink looks amazing! I've loved that character since the first arc of Exiles. If DST makes her, I hope it looks as good as your design
  2. the Wolverine Origins Logan that came with Sabretooth comes with the Marty vest repainted, and should not be in any way hard to find EDIT- D'oh. Groundhog beat me to it
  3. Thanks guys! I guess I just lucked out. Minimadman, I PM'd you my address.

  6. Ok, so a few new updates today. First, two comissions done for MiniEspo: Ash from Evil Dead and the Question inspired by his appearance on JLU. Really happy with how these turned out, especially Ash. In fact I'm a little sad to see them go. Guess I'll just have to make my own. Oh well, here they are: And the next part of the update builds on what I did for my last update. Scarecrow: I was pretty happy with my first shot at Scarecrow in this scale, but I wanted him to stick out just a little bit more on the shelf, so I decided to try his Arkham Asylum look from the end of Begins. The jaket was by hand, using a GI joe shirt as the underlying structure. I think he looks a bit more unique now, and I'm quite happy with how he turned out(again). Robin: But wait...Robin wasn't in either of the most recent Batman movies. Yes I know, and given what I've heard about Nolan's opinion of the character, he probably never will be. However, Robin has always been one of my favorite parts of the Batman mythos, so I wanted a Nolan-styled Robin to go with my other figures. So, I took up the task of designing my own version. I tried to combine elements of the Tim Drake costume with a few of those from the Batman costume from Begins. I used a shorter hasbro GI Joe body so that Robin is shorter than his companions. Really like how he turned out. Now I really need to get a Batman. Thats all for today. Thanks for looking. Comments are appreciated.
  7. Wow. Really really hope they don't go the Ultimates route with this movie. If they do, I can't really see myself seeing it, as I have absolutely no interest in the Ultimates. Tried the book multiple times, but I hated all of the characters, and in my opinion, that really makes it hard to enjoy any story with them in it. Unfortunately, Ultimates seems to be the direction Marvel wants to take it. Oh well, guess some of the fans of the Ultimates will like it, but for a classic Avengers fan like me, this isn't the Avengers movie I've been waiting for. Hopefully they'll surprise me, but I have my doubts.
  8. Went and saw Pirate Radio recently. Very good. So good in fact that I went and saw it againtwo days later, which is something I rarely ever do with movies(Watchmen, Ironman, and Star Trek are the only noteworthy ones that come to mind). Anyway, very good nostalgia movie(maybe even my favorite movie this year) with a great cast and a brilliant soundtrack. I highly recomend this film.
  9. well, custom wise, I'm still very fond of Dr. Horrible. He really got me into the customizing hobby. However as for official minimates I'd say it's a tie between Yellow Daredevil and Hal Jordan GL. DD because he and Elektra were my first 2 minimates, and I still think DD is awesome. GL because despite some minor quibles with the actual 'mate itself, he's still my favorite character ever to be minimated.
  10. Hands Glantern the camberwell carrot... Go know yourself out! T. Ok, possibly not the best choice of wording. Still stand by what I said after that part.
  11. I'm probably going to get stoned for this, but I actually enjoy this time of year, though not for the reason alot of people who enjoy it do. I genuinely enjoy this holiday because a)it's one of the few times a year that I truly get to spend with my family and b)it's one of the few times a year that seem happy. Now, whether that may be about materialism or not, I still like seeing them happy regardless. I honestly could care less about what gifts I get. Sure, if it's something I've wanted I'll be excited, but the enjoyment of the holiday doesn't hang on it. My favorite part of Christmas morning is sitting down and having french toast for breakfast with my family. So yeah, I like this time of year, but that's how I veiw it from my perspective. I myself don't go anywhere near retail outlets on Black Friday or the week of Christmas, so maybe that helps. However, the reasoning behind that is exactly what many of you who have posted here have already stated. I find the masses looking to get the low low price on everything so that little spoiled Johnny can get more gifts than can possibly be fit in the house and still be unsatisfied to be the absolute worst part of every year, but that's why I avoid them the best I can. I just try not to let them take away all the good from the season. Anyway, just my overall look at the season, hope not to offend anybody with my comments.
  12. No shadowing, but there is a belt tampoo there
  13. Not the best shot, but here you go
  14. Ok, so I didn't get the Spider-Girl/Vault Guard & House of M/Scorpion sets from 30, and aside from the peg hole thing, Electro, Isulated Spider-Man and the Vault Guard appear to be identical to their TRU counterparts show over at the Database, but here's Ultimate Spider-Woman
  15. Wave 29 Didn't get X-force Wolvie from this wave I'll try to get the ones I have from 30 up next
  16. Hey guys, sorry I didn't reply sooner, haven't been home at all since my last post. I'm located in Maryland. Maybe east coast got them early. If people still want pictures, I guess I can take some of the ones I got.
  17. ok, just got home from getting these. Overall, pretty cool. But there's one thing that bugs me on Electro, Insulation Spidey, Vault Guard, and the Hydra agent: Peg holed heads! Since all of these figures were designed to not have hair pieces, I find this quite annoying. I really think it hurts the figures when displayed without the masks. Guardsman and Electro are excusable because most people will leave the mask on, but I like the face under the mask of the hyda agent more than the one on it, so I wanted to display him sans additional pieces. And it's even sillier on spiderman, since DST put the classic mask underneath so that it could be swapped onto classic spidey, not to mention the fact that unlike the other masks in the wave, Insulated spidey's is the only one to lack a peg, making the peg hole without any purpose. /rant Ok, so it's alot of complaining, but don't let it fool you, I still find these 'mates very cool, just a little peeved by that one issue. Oh, well. Not a huge deal I suppose
  18. Ok, so I finally have another update. And not a minimate one for a change, though I'm working on a few comissons that I hope to post soon. However, today is my first real venture into 1/6 scale customizing. My parents are planning to get me a Hot Toys Joker for Christmas this year, and they said they'd chip in halfway for a Hot Toys Two-Face(oh the irony!). I decided, if I'm getting the two of them, I might as well have the other villain from the film: Scarecrow. So, I got to work pulling out my various bins of 12 inch figures that I had packed away, in hopes of assembling a decent suit for him. Once I had one pieced together, I made his mask using the ever popular process of GRCAOTP(Gluing Random Crap All Over The Place). Once he was done, he seemed lonely on the shelf waiting for his mischievious partners in crime, so I kitbashed some hench men for him using some off-brand GIJoes. Not Hot Toys quality by any means, but I still think they all turned out pretty well, and I'm very proud of the good doctor's mask. Now I just need to get together enough cash for a Batman. Thanks for looking! Comments are appreciated!
  19. Ok, very rarely do I make my opinion on these matters vocal, but I have to say, that yes this situation fits the definition of "Toy Hunting" fairly well, however I am not a "toy hunter", I'm a "toy collector". I like to be able to find the figures I want so that I can take them out and put them with the rest of the set. Yes, some times it's okay for there to be a figure that may be rarer due to its popularity, and I'm fine with that. But having to search for weeks for one figure is ridiculous, and I feel it takes the fun out of collecting. I came into minimates because they were cool figures, and they were easy to get a hold of(excluding chases of course). I liked being able to go to the store the day they came out and pick out the sets I wanted without a whole lot of hassle. However, as of late, I have missed a bunch of sets I wanted because they were TRU exclusives, and my local TRUs were all cleared out before I had a chance to get there. I know most people would say "buy them off ebay", but as a high school senior, I don't have the hugest amount of cash, meaning I really can't afford to buy a BE/MS pack for $15+ and shipping from some scalper on ebay. Point being that I've always hated short packing, and it was the reason I stopped collecting Marvel Legends back when Toy Biz made them. Sure, they looked awesome, but it didn't matter what they looked like, since I never could find the damned things. I'm sad to see minimates going down the same path. I honestly don't have the time to go searching from store to store for something that was probably snatched up the second the case was opened, and if this is the direction that minimates plan on taking, than I can't really see myself collecting for much longer. My life is stressful enough, I don't have time to be stressing over a 2-inch piece of plastic. TM2, this is not aimed at you, just sorta fueled by the thing you said. If your happy with chasing this stuff, good for you, but I'm afraid its not for me. Sorry for the rant. Just speaking whats on my mind I guess. Don't really want to see another line I collect go this way. Oh well
  20. Your stuff looks great! I especially love the Dark Knight poster. You really captured the feel of the original poster, but with added minimate goodness. Keep up the good work. I hope to see more of your stuff
  21. Well, I made this Superboy a while back and I believe that Bobafett made the later costume for Wondergirl By the way, your stuff is great, man! Seriously considering stealing some of those designs, if that's ok with you
  22. They wore black during John Byrne's run in the 80's. They tended to be highlited with blue, however Byrne has said that he always intended the costumes to be black, not blue like most people assume they were.
  23. So, I said I wouldn't be doing much updating now with school starting, but I had a few days off, so I threw together a small batch of customs. Four to be exact THE FANTASTIC FOUR: Well, somehow I missed out on getting a set of FF mates when they came out, and suprisingly they've yet to make another set, so I put together a set of my own. I chose to make the Byrne costumes because I figure if they make these costumes that they'll do the typical mainstream thing an make the costumes blue and white instead of BLACK and white which are the correct colors(as stated by Byrne himself) I think these turned out pretty well, and I especially like Ben and Johnny. Anyway, that's all for today. Comments are appreciated, thanks for looking!
  24. Funny you should say that about Moist. My original Moist actually had soggy mail that I had made for him, but a friend of mine really wanted a set, so the original was given to her, and I never made the accessory for mine
  25. Hey guys! Back with a few customs today, though doubt I'll be doing any frequent updating for aa while, thanks to school starting back up. Punisher: regaarding Shriek, after looking at him, I completely understand what you're saying, though it's much less noticable in person Ok, onto today's stuff AMAZO: This guy is a favorite of mine, especially when he was redesigned for Justice League. And after rewatching some of his apearences, I decided to use one of the 2.5"ers I had laying around to make him. He was a pretty simple custom, taking only about 20 min to make. PENNY & MOIST: I finally decided to finish up my Penny that's been sitting around for a while. I had planned to make her a torso piece showing the , but I didn't finish it. However, since I had already designed the alternate face I put it on any way. Moist I decided to rework to better match his look in the show. Well, that's all for today. Thanks for looking, comments are appreciated!
