  1. gambitron & Ivan, thanks for the pics! I'm twitching with excitement & can't wait for my set to get here!
  2. I'm wondering the same thing. While I'm pretty positive in my belief (about knee joints), MOC's words have put the smallest amount of fear into me. Come on, guys, who's got the pics??
  3. MOC -- If you look closely at the big version of the pic, you can just make out the knee joint right above the "boot" (for lack of a better word). I was worried too at first, until I realized that the Mark III is just a repaint of the Mark II. You don't really realize it right away -- because the silver shows all the details -- but the more you look, the more you can tell. Jenny
  4. I agree with you about her -- I've thought that for a while now.
  5. Glad I could help! Please post a pic or a link afterwards, so I (and anyone else interested) can take a look.
  6. Throwing my own 2 cents here, but what about a repaint of BSG's "Number Eight Sharon Valerii"? Her hairpiece isn't overly feminine & looks a good deal like S's hairstyle in the pic you provided. Another positive is that she's available now, so you don't have to wait for the upcoming boxset.
  7. Haunted Mansion?? Seriously, as a kid, that tour/ride freaked me out -- especially when the paintings roll up in their frames to show the bottom halves of each picture. In any event, Dio, welcome! Minimates are like potato chips -- you can't have just one. Well, maybe that's why they come in 2-packs, so they can hook you & reel you in.
  8. Even so, there are many many Pinky customisers out there who use just about everything under the sun in their customs & typically, their tutorials are pretty amazing as well. The entire internet is littered with them, so I figured that you could get something out of them. Or at least see exactly how they were using Stikfas to make custom figures.
  9. I'm not sure how much help I can be -- as I've never tried to customize them -- but I have several & I really like them. Like the others have said, they are very posable & they come in bunches of colors. To be honest, the only customizations I've seen done with them are to make them into posable bodies for Pinky St figures. (Pinky figs are made of PVC & are about 4 inches tall & are interchangable -- here's a link: http://www.pinky-street.com/index.php?page=all_releases ) You can google to view Pinky/Stikfas hybrids & there are tons of "how-to's" on how to do it, so maybe you can use them to get a sense of how it would work for you. Jenny
  10. I'd say it's more along the lines of "YMCA." PS - Whose pink legs are those above Mr. Freeze in the pic?
  11. I have a couple of favorites -- the C3 Batman that came with the mini-Batmobile (really the first one released, I think) & Spider-Woman. That particular Batman because of the boots (they weren't painted on) & his cape (it's the one that extends out so he can glide). Oh! And because his cowl fits perfectly on his face & it gives the illusion that he has a nose. Spider-Woman has always been a favorite (being the only girl in a house of boys will do that to you) -- well, the Jessica Drew version. Mine has been modded tho, cuz I didn't like the hairpiece she came with. Instead, I took an extra Witchblade indie-mate's hair, snipped off the front "metal" bits & removed the paint. So now my Jessica Drew Spider-Woman has the long glossy black hair she had in the comics. As for most valuable, I don't know. I'm a huge comic book dork, and I have ones that I would never get rid of, but it's more of a "they're mine" thing than because they are too valuable or rare or whatever. Jenny
  12. pickle -- If you weren't from Canada, I'd suspect you of being my brother. You didn't just suddenly move & not tell me, did you? Jenny Oooh! You are such an enabler!! As a kid, my brother got the Max Rebo band figures (the Kenner ones) but didn't like Droopy, so he gave him to me. At first I didn't like him either, but he sort of grew on me. Now he holds a special place in my action figures (cuz I still have him) & that Kub one is so cute! Maybe one day I'll return the favor to my bro & buy the set, then give him what I don't want -- the rest of the set minus Droopy.
  13. OK, I forgot about Ackbar. "It's a trap!!" That's why I'd want him -- for his famous quote -- & there are no Lego minifigs of him as of yet. The first guy, Snaggletooth, was my brother's favorite figure growing up (aside from Max Rebo & his band).
  14. I'd call myself a dabbler, except the only one I had any interest in is Bossk from Star Wars. Now that I've finally been able to own him, I'm done. I haven't seen any others that I feel the need to own. Jenny PS - Bossk rules!
  15. I feel your pain -- The Target where I live stopped carrying them & TRU left the city. (And I'm totally about instant gratification, too.) I've found that Stuckakid is not bad -- the prices are fair & the shipping is better if you order more than 1 item. Jenny PS - Welcome, by the way!
  16. Hans Gruber rules!! Because of that movie, that's who Alan Rickman will be to me forever.
  17. I was angriest because they say they offer all these ways to ship, yet really don't. And shipping via UPS is usually expensive (another reason I dislike UPS -- they don't provide the level of service to warrant their shipping rates), so I was completely frustrated that this was the only option to choose.
  18. Due to the above post on MH, I almost picked one up. $3.99 is too good of a deal to pass up.... except for one small thing. On the shipping FAQ page, it mentions that US orders can be shipped via UPS, USPS, or Fed-Ex. (Given those choices I was even willing to suck up the $3 handling fee.) During check-out, however, those are not your options -- I was stuck with UPS Ground. I hate the UPS service in my area! No way I'm going to pay eight bucks & change for shipping. By my math, that's a handling fee of $5 on their part. Seriously, that's the one thing I hate. When people have a low item price but insanely high shipping costs. (Especially once the item arrives you can see for yourself how much it actually cost the person, plus or minus the packaging costs.) Jenny
  19. I was thinking that's what it was, but then I was having problems with another site. So I began to wonder. Jenny PS - Keep up the good work! I can always count on you guys for good, honest reviews & nice close-ups. Thank you.
  20. I think he's oblivious to everything.
  21. Ha ha ha! Very nice. I was finally lucky enough to win one on eBay -- he's not here yet, but I'm so excited for him to arrive. (If you can't tell, I love Bossk. ) See, while the Kubrick one is still cute, it's not that doofy cute that the Lego one was. I mean, how can you say no to this face: http://flickr.com/photos/kurmidt/314417207/ (not my pic, but still adorable.) Jenny
  22. Thanks, Vig! I'm glad I finally stopped lurking & joined. Jenny
  23. Lego needs to release the Bossk figure (from the Lego SW game). How dare they tease us like that?? He is just too cute! I would so buy it in a heartbeat! Jenny
  24. I got a nearly full set (except for dead Tony & the beat-up John/Hans figures) a couple of years ago for fairly cheap on eBay. I love them!! Although, because of them, I nearly passed on minimates -- but then I realized that I could have both with no worries. Jenny
  25. Sorry if I'm reviving a dead thread, but is anyone else having problems getting onto Minimates Central? I've been trying nearly all day to no avail. Jenny
