i didn't realize these were part of a sub. i have the first 6 preordered at BBTS for $20 each. i hadn't decided if i was going to go through with them though, $20 is kinda steep as nice as they look. i'm curious how much these would be from Eaglemoss themselves.

@ Zach - Those police max packs are hard to come by these days. If you guys ever do anything more with the Max line - would some new police figures be considered?
I wouldn't hold my breath, but we may do something with astronauts soon. We'll see.
did noone else pick up on this? astronauts would be AWESOME!!! but i guess thats another topic.

haven't seen these in store yet but I have the B&W in my POL. really hope TRU gets these and the second Expendables set sometime in the near future.

from the Nov 6 AA shipping date blog:
02/27/13 STAR TREK TOS ENTERPRISE MINIMATE VEHICLE JUL121720not nearly soon enough

with the carded mates, I save 1 card from each wave and recycle the rest. the boxes however i save, i love the mate drawings on the packaging so i cant bring myself to chuck em. they are all boxed up but i will admit they are starting to take up too much space so i might have to rethink saving them. i might cut the pictures off and make some kind of album for them.

i managed to snag the TRU exclusives this past Friday in NH. got lucky as I was out for something else entirely and stopping in 15 minutes before closing. hope everyone can find them, they're awesome.
one of my LCS was having a 50% off everything sale the weekend before and I was able to get the specialty regulars (they were out of WCD) for $4.50 each  probably should've bought all they had but i already had a ton of stuff to buy.
-
best of wave 2 is now up @ BBTS, snagged the pic from there
-
Pretty sure this won't be at TRU, so I would pre-order however many you ultimately want from your LCS or web store.
July Previews (#286) page 401, item number JUL121720
that sucks, has there not been much interest from TRU? Mates in general seem to be doing pretty well for them.
I really wish Minimates could get back into Target and/or Walmart, with all the price increases we are seeing I'd bet that moms & dads would be happy to get 2 figures for $8. Heck, Target has even started carrying imported Character Building figures (sadly not the Doctor Who ones though) in the cards/gaming section, they might be open to Minimates.
Thanks for the heads up though Zach, glad I have 2 on order already.
-
Damn. Looks like BBTS has increased the price by $4 per set since last I noticed.
yeah, that's new with this round of pre-orders. Marvel 48, SFxT wave 2 and Battle Beasts wave 1 are all $34. it still beats tracking them down and paying LCS prices (especially what they charge for variants ).
that said, if they go up any more I'll have to rethink my buying habits. I've already cut down from 2-3 of everything to just multiples of important army builders or specific custom fodder.
-
i was at walmart last night and saw somw Thundercats toys on clearance, specifically the Thundertank and the Tower of Omens. I know these are for the 4" figures but they look like they might be fudgeable scale-wise. has anyone picked these up to use with their mates?

welcome aboard pappymojo, gotta agree w/ blacksun1520...it's great to see another member from MA.

We still need a time train. There's never been a toy or model of it ever before, and it's something a lot of fans have wanted since Part III came out.
Whether it's in Minimate form or not, I'd love it if Diamond released one while they still have the license.
Also, we still need Griff, Clara, "Clint Eastwood" Marty, and 2015 George McFly.
And Einstein!!
and Marty Jr (or at least his hat) Biff's gang ('55 versions), Shamus & Maggie McFly, and Needles...I want a FLEA minimate!
...I kind of want a Movie III DeLorean, but it's doubtful.
noooo, we need a BttF III DeLorean!

thanks Lobsterman, I've been trying to work out the details for a while...I also thought maybe just have the legs molded and have the pelvis plug into them, allowing for hinge movement so he could lean forward and back. There is definitely more than one way to do this.
-
A little OT but, I'd be happy with a Ghost Rider bike that had legs molded on the sides and you could just detach GRs waist/legs and plug his body onto the bike.
Something like this (forgive the rough drawing, trying to do this at work w/out getting caught )
it could be taken a step further and actually have just the pelvis attached to the seat allowing the mates legs to be attached as well (which might work better and allow for posing w/ his legs down)
As for the poll, only 2 of my choices made it; Songbird and Ghost Rider...was really hoping for Banshee and Mojo

nothing to get too excited about, but this is from the TNI DCC Q & A coverage
Will we ever see DC Minimates? No plans right now but you never know. They have ones made that were never released. They may show some pictures of those at some point online to see how much interest in them there might be.
I know I've seen a couple drawing (can't remember who ATM), I wonder if there are more.

I hear Klingons are supposed to make an appearance in the next Trek flick. I wonder if DST has a Klingon ship waiting in the wings as a pseudo tie-in.
a Minimate Klingon Bird of Prey would be awesome!
the only problem with waiting for the TRU release is that, sometimes product gets cancelled due to lack of preorders. This is how we lost out on Beverly Hills Cop and the Godfather. Granted, a big vehicle like the Enterprise more than likely won't be cancelled but I don't count on anything until it's in my hands. I don't remember hearing anything about there being a difference in the TRU release, but it would be great. Maybe a battle damaged version w/ Scotty.
The nice thing about the Enterprise is that with minor tweaking of the nacelles and deflector dish, the main body can also be used for the refit version from the movies.
If Trek minimates make a return, those of us who were on board for the original run are going to have to have some patience regarding re-releases. Most of the major looks for TOS have been done, but there are more that can be done. "A Piece of the Action" and "City on the Edge of Forever" Kirk and Spock for instance, a Romulan Kirk too. But for new customers to be able to get into the line we are going to see redo (which I will happily purchase to keep the line going) .

Can't wait to see the new Dr. Strange that will be sporting those spell hands!!!
I can't wait to see the new Dr. Strange astral variant that will be sporting those spell hands!!!
off topic but, between those 2 and the Mindless Ones from the wave 50 poll, thats the variant and army builder of a kick ass mystical wave right there. throw in Doctor Voodoo, Wong, the Hood and a white costume Iron Fist and call it a day.
back on topic, I'm hoping for Protector, Wanda, and Cyclops and Emma for the extras. Colossus is meh and Iron Man...idk, i like the underneath armor look anyway.
-
I always kinda liked the New X-Men. Not particularly good, and it didn't last that long, but this cover was kinda iconic in my childhood.
I just never understood why Logan claws were out. Were they afraid we wouldn't know who it was without them?
-
I voted for Protector, hoping that enough people are going to vote for Scarlet Witch. Too bad this wasn't like the Wave 50 poll, where you get 2 votes.
I wish the choices were more Avengers-centric than the 50/50 split, we could potentially end up with 2 AvX sets each with Cyclops, Emma and Colossus.
-
Oh god, this is gonna happen, do well then DST will start doing trek mate 2-packs again and we'll get TNG mates!!
Luke you going to be getting the Enterprise?
So, I'm really dying to see what the AFX SDCC exclusive is. 80's property? STTNG maybe??
oohhhhhhh! i didn't even think of that.
-
look what just went up for pre order at BBTS, got my order in for 2  :
-
Supplementing the one and done boxed set/dragula idea...

Uncle Gilbert Quick Custom...
lolz...
THAT'S AWESOME  glad I have extras of both of those, I'm so doing that when I get home, great idea Gillbob makes me want Munsters mates even more
-
the Expendable set is back in stock on TRU.com, I was able to put 144 in my cart before the limited inventory message popped up.
-
i was only getting The Mighty set for Odin, but they all look great. Still undecided on The Worthy (they look great as well) if I see it at my LCS I'll decide then.

it's funny that it seems like so many of us have thought of these. i'd buy every one and probably multiples at that. plus getting a Mr T and Hulk Hogan that could easily become Clubber Lang (or B.A. Baracus) and Thunderlips would be icing on the cake. maybe those versions could be a variant or a con exclusive
as far as these just being mostly neckid dudes (but lets not forget the Divas) these wrestlers all have numerous t-shirts too. the slipover shirts Minimates use would be perfect as most of them wear their shirts ripped under the arms anyway, or they could simply come with a bare chest block and a shirt block. cause to be honest, i'd only want the really huge guys like Brock Lesner or Big Show to have the bulky chest piece.
there are so many wrestlers, managers, annoucers, divas, referees and executives that could be done. i'd love a Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler, Lou Albano and Cyndi Lauper, The King and Andy Kaufman, we could get a Mike Tyson and Dennis Rodman minimates! the possiblities are endless with all the different ring attires and street clothes.
and this would be one line where playsets would really kick ass. different rings and event stages/entrances, hell in a cell, elimination chamber, casket match & TLC accessories, annoucers tables, cameras, my mind is racing (doesn't help that i'm actually watching Smackdown as I type this )
btw, didn't i see a Stone Cold custom around here somewhere? that needs to be re posted in here.
