Pavehawk comes from the helicopter I used to work on when I was in the Air Force. The Pavehawk is the USAF version of the H-60. 78 was the year I was born.

My only complaint about the new Hawkeye is the mask is sort of thick. Overall though these are the best sets I've gotten in a while. Kang and GR are just awesome.

Pavehawk i called the disney store yesterday, they said they aren't for sale until monday.
If you get there first, leave some for me!
Cool! Thanks for the info. You live in Louisville?
I do..right down the street from the malls.
You do know now that we know there is someone else purchasing minimates in our respective areas..we have someone specific to blame if we can't find what we are looking for..
Damn you pavehawk..it's all your fault it took me so long to find crossbones!
You may be right...I did find Crossbones at the TRU in St. Mathews
Nice to know someone else in Louisville appreciates the finer things lol. Do you only collect minimates?

Checked my local Disney store here in Louisville with no luck...I did pick up a spiffy Hulk coffee mug though.
-
My LCS never got them, and I don't want to buy the whole series because Storm's the only one I want. I was hoping someone knew a website that was selling single packs.
-
Anyone know where I can pick up Storm?
-
Where are the results from last year....I looked but couldn't find them.

I got lucky and TRU came through with my order last week. And after playing with them all, I have to say I'm most impressed with First Appearance Thor. He has a great, bright comic-booky color palette, the details are all spot on, I've even gotten to like the goofy expression on his face. He really does look like the original artwork.
I got them at my local TRU last week and I have to say Thor is my least favorite. I can't get his hair/helmet all the way down on his head. Plus I'm just really burnt out on Thor.....why did they have to realease so many variations in such a short amount of time???

Great ideas for minimates! Were these commissions or your choice? Very nice! Silver Banshee look really works in the minimate form. Helluva job Luke!
These were commissions.

Thanks!! They are actually HO scale model train cases. I got them from this website http://www.greatdisplaycases.com/product/CDC-HO2436

Here are my Marvel minimates.
Here are my DC minimates.

I don't think the 2.5 inchers played a role in the lack of success of those Minimates. They only stuck one in per wave, if that.
Just to be anal, waves 3 & 7 had 2 each in them.
I think the only thing wrong with DC mates was that they were controlled by DC Direct. If DST had handled the line, I'm convinced the line would still be going strong.
And we'd have already had Superman Blue, Superman Red, Superman Reborn, The Batman of Zurr En Ah, Gotham by Gaslight Batman, and The Composite Superman/Batman.
I have the Composite Superman/Batman already....thanks to Luke

i found all of 'em except the invisible woman/mole man 2-pack today. nice lookin' toys!
shout out to pavehawk: did you score on the latest TRU 'mates, bro? how did ya do this time? (i found mine at the TRU on dixie highway)
I looked last week and this week at the outer loop store with no luck.......so I ordered them off TRU.com. Hopefully have them by next week.

Minimate-wise it would be X-Factor Angel and Warpath.
My two ultimate grails are Sideshow 1:1 Venom bust and Dr. Doom premium format figure.
-
well, i only found the betsy braddock/lockjaw set, but yeah--- i found it at the TRU on dixie.
thanks again for giving me a heads-up a few weeks ago when these suckers first hit louisville, bro. i'm still kicking myself for being out of town and not checking my email sooner.
I almost picked them up for you....kicking myself for not going ahead and doing that.
-
finally got my grubby lil' mitts on the betsy braddock/lockjaw 2-pack (very nice set!), but i still haven't been able to score the hulbuster iron man/gamma hulk set.
i have one question, though: IS the coloring on the hulkbuster iron man minimate's armor comicbook accurate???
Did you find them locally Velvet?

I just picked up the Crimson Dynamo and Silver Iron Man (Go WCA!) Funny thing on my Iron Man... the very cool red metallic paint has stained the edges of Tony's face, leaving pale red marks along the edges. It's a great Minimate mug... but now he looks like he has a weird suntan or is really embarrassed!
My Silver Cent Tony hed is fine... Ill trade ya for a Stilt Man leg...
I've got the staining on my Neo-Classic Iron Man. Also, the helmet for the silver centurion doesn't come close to going all the way down on Stark's mellon.

I found them in Louisville, Ky today.

The perplexing question about Liefeld, McFarlane, and the rest (excluding Jim Lee )is not why and how do they suck, but why the ____ did we all love them so much back in the early 1990s?? There is a reason everyone knows who these people are--comic fans loved them and bought the crap out of all their garbage comics. I'm included. I loved his artwork. LOVED it. I had all the late New Mutants stuff, all the X-Force, and even the 2 or 3 Youngbloods he eventually ended up making. Why? Who knows?? That is the greatest mystery of all.
.......I still like McFarlane

It might not have a hole in the head, sometimes we see them with one in the prototype shots but not the finished product.
I hope you're right.

For the characters who get it both ways (thinking of Spidey), I think that is the best possible scenario, since collectors can pick and choose how they want do display their figures. My Heroes and Spidey wave (23? 24?) Spideys have the non-slip-cover heads from subsequent releases, because that's how I like it. With Deadpool, this is the same thing to me. You have the slip heads available if you want to use them (expensive though it now is). And if you like the leaner look, which I think fits Liefeld's design, you can stick with the new, painted head.
I agree except I hate the hole in the head, like they did with Spider-man from the Secret wars boxed set. I really just don't understand why they used the slip on mask with the peg when the regular mask would have worked fine. It kinda ruined the firgure for me.

They look great Luke....money well spent

I'm almost a completist when it comes to Marvel and DC I guess you would say. I am not into slight variations. I have almost all the Marvel mates with the exception of the movie stuff and ultimate X-Men. I'm also missing a few exclusives and for some reason I never got either Electra (reg or exc) or Kingpin. I have all the DC Direct mates and some C3 but not all. The other mates really don't interest me that much. I have Slimer and Stay Puft and I have a few cylons and terminators.....thats pretty much it.
