iv not had it with the full masks and i'v never had any trouble getting the full face masks off apart from wave 5 cap, but my dark avengers wolverine is in a pretty bad shape, with the paint getting scratched off just by putting the mask on and taking it off,

i wish thye would stop changing the wolvie mask, the one used since wave 28 was perfect, this one looks like s*@# the only real improvement i can see is the belt. The gauntlets and leg warmers(yes they're bloody leg warmers) look to chunky.

When i saw this boxset appareing at SDCC i was hoping wolverine would be packed into a TRU exclusive and we cud get the other three with Famtomex. that a boxset i would buy.

Just reading the new review, the Hydra Agents chest piece isn't new! it s a reuse/repaint of emil blonsky's from the Hulk Movie Wave.

and this has been nigling me for ages, Captain america's hair piece in the Invader set isn't the same as The Civil War Cap. CW Cap has what i think is a unique piece so far(as in hasn't been used on any other mates yet) while Invader Cao has captain kirks hairpiece in blond. they can be told apart by well looking at them, CW cap's is more straight and rigid as well as the back has a more flat appearance while Invaders(which is the same as the heros boxset) has a more rounded and compact hairpiece

sorry for the long complaint but it really irks me for some reason

p.s. don't know if this has been mentioned, but Captain Bucky's hair piece is a reuse of IM Mark II and III from the Iron Man 1 movie wave

does anyone remember the minimate IM hall of armor that was floating around for a while. I think it was built out of lego and some of the old C3 sets. looking to build my own and want to use it as a starting point.

anyone have pictures, or a working link to it. Any minimate IM armory would do. i just remember this one being really cool

World War 2 Cap - didnt we get a first appearance not long ago in the invaders box-set, this one looks more like the ultimate cap, i dont remember seeing any pictures of cap wearing a mask/chinstrap before the ullitmates

Suspend Animation Cap - now this is one of two i would get excited about. although its a bit pointless really

The Captain Cap - US Agent, putting it out with a different face underneath the mask doesn't change the fact we already have US Agent, and who really remembers cap wearing this for long

Armored Cap - now this i would buy, its a legitimate variant we've never really saw a cap minimate like this

Civil War Cap - from the artwork looks exactly the same as civil war cap released a few years ago. the only difference i can see is that one pic shows with no mask on, rather hes holding it in his hand the other is he's wearing it. either way a minimate that has been previously released

Rebirth Cap - whats so different apart from a bigger star?

really for me its we have the invaders cap which was near perfect, then we got the Hero's boxset cap which got closer fixed the colour problems with the invaders one, but brought back the crappy masks. we have a bucky cap, the only cap i would really like to see is the new steve rogers costume, the one that is inspired by the fighting american costume

If they do it, they should just release the ones we have never had before.

one thing i noticed is they seemed to have redesigned the shield arm band. it looks like its split into a double band and is brown, thought that was strange.

when i first saw minimates i laughed, me and my boyfriend were walking through the shop and saw star trek, BTTF, and BSG and were just like "Lame".

Then a about two months later i saw the Civil War Box-set, and was "I Want!!!!", picked up sandman/Black suit Spidey and Eddie/Peter from SM3.

after that didn't do anything for a bout another month, then started on the Trek Mates, and i tried being a Marvel Completeist(to an extent), i knew i had no chance with gold and solver spideys, the Max statues were unlikely, and elf spidey well its a nice bit of christmas fodder but i personally hate the elf mates.

now its if i can pick up a older set i don't have for a reasonable price, yeah i'll do it. but i'm not into all the packaging, feet, body variations. if i have a version of the character i'm not going to buy another just cuz they have c3 feet or not. although the exception was darktide cuz i wanted the dvd.

for marvel its all the characters but no duplicates(unless in variant packs), for star trek i need unification spock, and for DC, its The Justice League, Green Lantern Corp(finally complete), and The batman Family. i picked up the Wave 1 T2 but only for a arnie mate.

although DST was taking the *£#@ last year. it was pasta and tuna almost every other night just so i could afford all the mates, and stay alive. well worth it though

i hate the wheel chair that xavier came with and thinking of replacing it with the the kubricks Xavier hover chair, just one question is there a way of doin it. iv never collected kubricks and only ask cuz i can get one cheap just now.

Lukes toy store, have only had a wee bit of trouble and he fixed it staright away. and the shipping is really good considering what certain other retailers in america will charge to ship here. just takes a few weeks to get here sometimes.

Are you counting Elseworlds Batmen (Vampire, Gotham by Gaslight, Red Son, etc), which are, thanks to Infinite Crisis' Multiverse 2.0, now considered part of "mainstream" continuity.

thats like saying The Ultimate Verse is mainstream continuity. there alternative universe continuitities and therefore not mainstream conituity. so no im not counting them

Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and The Sex Pistols would make great boxsets if they put more than four mates in a box.

and for The Ramones a box-set with the Original line up, Joey, Jonny, Dee Dee and Tommy, and then have a 2pk with Marky and CJ.

and then for the Misfits same again boxset with Danzig, Jerry Only, Doyle, and Robo, and then a 2pk with Dr Chud and Michale Graves. and if ur doin a custom Jerry Only, you need to use the hair from either 24's andre drezen or ghost busters peter venkman, to get Only's receding hairline right

also not a huge fan of the guy, but Marlyn Manson would work well as a minimate, IMHO.

you know your a minimate addict when...

...your wife refers to "those online people" as "your little minimate family" and gets annoyed when you talk to them too much

...when you have Excel spreadsheets to track the mates you have, want[\s] need, have preordered, are in the mail etc.

How about BIB Spidey's hairpiece? That was one I didn't recognise either.

It was a lot easier in the old days when every male hairpiece was either a Juggernaut/Mr Fantastic reuse and every female hairpiece was a New X-Men Jean Grey reuse

As I've said before for similar ideas (Pokemon, I think), I would be a bit ambivalent about such a thing. If it could sell, I would like Minimates to be made so that the Minimate brand can continue to succeed. But if they sell, that would also reinforce the idea that it makes sense to make Minimates based on little kids' shows. For the most part, I like that Minimates are targeting adults with adult licenses, and I hope that this continues to be the case.

AVATAR has a massive following outside of the kids demographic!!! i started watching it with my nephew when babysitting, and was totally drawn into the world. the characters are semi real and the show features character development, plots and a great visual style all things that are more attributed to more adult shows

but in the end, minimates are toys! the fact that a lot of adults buy them is secondary, look at the amount of kids that buy star wars toys to play with and the adults that buy them for display!

Avatar minimates could actually be that license that breaks down that collector/toy barrier on mates. marvel providea colourful character, but also 40 to 50 years of history which could be of putting as well as characters that parents may not approve of like (the mass murdering) bullseye. AVATAR provides the colourful characters and 3 series of the tv show, as well as three upcoming movies that are more readily accesible.

as someone who works, for Walmart, as part of ASDA over here in the UK, i have to say i really enjoy when people try to return stuff like that. i don't know about america but over here, we have to check everything!!! and make sure all the parts are returned.

i personally love refusing to take stuff back, even when u explain the policy thye still don't get it.

just got a 3 inch spock fom ebay, and have it sitting on my shelf now surrounded by the other trek mates. it looks great but one thing that bothers me. the figure came out a few years ago, well before the new movie but i cant help but see more of the new spock rather than nimoy's in the face.

does anyone else see this, did DST/AA have a premonition when designing him or am i just seeing things?????

just picked up both the dukat/sisko and the varieant sisko at the weekend there. and wehn looking over the dukat figure i was suprised they actually put this out as dukat.

as a huge fan of DS9, i have to say that "Dukat looks more like damar, dukats right hand man.

it's now coming to the point where i have too many minimates to have them all on display, so some of the older ones are getting packed away until i move to a bigger house and have more room for the display. but the ones i am keeping out i'm wanting to display them in a more dynamic way.

I really like the look lof the new minimate playset DST is releasing, but i thinks its a little too expensive for what is essentially cardboard with pretty pictures printed on it. so im wondering if any members know of a site where you are able to download for free sets.

Hey everyone....

Like most of the UK members, am finding that minimates are becoming increasingly difficult to find. I just paid a daft amount for the TRU Bullseye/Moonstone set on ebay, but I have to say, they were worth it. Love the pearly finish on Moonstone after not feeling that impressed with the initial pictures I had seen.

I have pre-ordered The Champions, Thunderbolts, Dark Avengers #2 and the Psylocke/Gambit series from BBTS in the States and am hoping to pick up the Dark Avengers #1 box set somehow, I found it available for pre-order on play.com for £12.99 and was wondering if anyone has any experience of ordering minimates from them? The page has the promo art for the Iron Patriot and an expected availabillity of July 31st. Would appreciate some advice...do people think it is worth ordering or am I living in hope?

Hi, welcome to the boards. i was bable to find bullseye and moonstone on amazon, bought it as soon as it was on more or less it was a steal at £12 though, pity they dont do more minimates on there.

im ordering all the same box sets from AFX or BBTS not sure which yet, and iv ordered minimates from play before but they werent preordered, so im just waiting to see what happens but so far so good.

To be up front, my intentions will be to sell these once I get a idea on price. I did not want to post these in the flea market without a price.
