  1. Sadly, I have no vehicles or playsets, except for that hanglider that came with Catwoman and Stealth Batman . One day I hope to get some, if there are any left that I can afford. I do however, have a Lego beach house that the minimates have keg parties in. In fact I saw BSG's Six leaving through the back door the other night and Robin was out on the balcony smoking. The rumors have been flying.

  2. I'm almost glad that they never started the Legion, because there's almost no way to finish them. I don't know if I'd rather have some Legion or none.

You really only need Cosmic Boy, Lightning Lad, and Saturn Girl, in my opinion (though a Braniac 5 Minimate would nicely round out one of those 2-packs). Obviously, there are so many Legion members that DC Direct/DST could never release enough to complete the group or to satisfy everyone's interests. However, if they were only scheduled to release a few, random JSAers and Titan members, then I say, why not throw in a few, core Legion members, too? Particularly, before you get into the strange redecos like Commie Superman.

I know it was just wishful thinking and I am showing my age, because The Legion was very popular during the Giffen/Levitz run in the early 80's...which is when I started collecting comics. Knowing that all these characters will probably never be made in regular action figure size, I just always thought minimates were the perfect form to include all these characters...but I realize it would have irritated the hell out of non-Legion fans. :P

  3. The three things that upset me most:

    1. No Black Canary....at least you can buy a C3 Martian Manhunter, but the JLA just isn't complete without her.

    2. They teased us with the possibility of having a Titans team... but no Wonder Girl or Beast Boy.

    3. I'm a HUGE Legion of Superheroes fan...and not a single one was made. :(

Of course the list goes on and on... no Poison Ivy, Kyle Rayner, Huntress ad nauseum.....

  4. Sorry if people are taking my post wrong, I'm not blaming DST for making these, or saying that there isn't a market for them either. I was just saying in my hyperbolic way that I HATE Madonna more than Satan, and it pissed me off on a personal level to see these. I understand others may like them and should be allowed to buy them.

It does disturb me though, that DST is willing to take a chance on these, when they haven't had similar faith in the past for some things that I would have loved to see.

Ultimately this has as much a right to be made as any of the other movie mates or music mates that have been released or that I would like released in the future, but I just feel like even though Ozzy and KISS fans are a smaller group than Madonna fans, they are a group that is more likely to by toys or other plastic memorabilia. I know very few if any Madonna fans who wouldn't think minimates were childish.

You only see what your eyes want to see

How can life be what you want it to be

    Youre frozen

    When your hearts not open

    :lol::lol::lol:

  5. Well, no one will ever agree on the smoking subject so I say we go back to the sculpted boobs subject:

At this point, I don't think I want them, it would just make all the females I have already look flat chested. They are block figures after all. I wasn't a big fan of Smart Hulk and Abomination having pecs either.

  6. It doesn't have to be. You could put a new Storm w/ Black Panther... and remember they packaged Iron Man w/ Ghost Rider when have those two ever teamed up?

Champions/Iron Man Crossover, in the 70s

He was also on the Avengers team that took on Ghost Rider around #210 or so. These guys are like the Abbot and Costello of the Marvel Universe!

    *shrugs shoulders* Who knew?

  7. [Thank God they aren't being politically correct or we'd never see a Buffalo Bill minimate (Of course to the Public Health loonies, smoking is obviously worse than making a "Woman Skinsuit")

yep cause every day people die from second hand serial killers.

It really does confuse me that DST continue to say these are marketed towards kids...

I mean Desperately Seeking Susan, I do not know any 7 year olds that even know who Maddona is , let alone this shitty 80s movie.

How many kids have seen silence of the lambs, or For a Few Dollars More, Platoon?

I think it is time to fess up DST this IS a collectors line.

and for what it is worth Chaz...smoking is a messed up habit I lost 2 grandparents due to lung cancer.

If you ever need a reason to give up the habit...watch someone in your family deteriorate and die from a bad habit.

    And the preachfest begins!

  8. I'd have to disagree...X-Men fans are just as fanatical as Spider-Man fans and would buy any variations of their fave characters, especially an era as influential as the Jim Lee era. I'd be happy with just a Gambit and Psylocke (since they haven't been made) but my motto is you can never have too many Storms, Jean Greys, or Rogues.

The difference is a new Spidey variation means one new mate. New X-men variations means a whole new wave, such as the Astonishing X-men wave (11?).

It doesn't have to be. You could put a new Storm w/ Black Panther... and remember they packaged Iron Man w/ Ghost Rider when have those two ever teamed up?

  9. I know there is a lot of X-Men characters already but I was thinking how come the most popular costumes haven't been made into mates. I'd love to see a Jim Lee Cyclops, Jean Grey, Beast, Gambit and Jubilee set or even just a few of them.

Well, I'd argue that those costumes are not the most popular versions of those characters-- the "classic" looks are. The other three versions of the X-Men that were made- Ultimate, New, and Astonishing- were tied in to what was the current look of the characters at the time, so it made sense to do those. Certainly, there's a market for characters from that era that have never been done, such as Gambit, but the need for new versions of characters we (in some cases) have four Minimates of seems pretty small to me.

  10. *tap tap*

    "He say you bwadewunner!"

Here's an custom Deckard I did 2-3 years back...

    Deckard.jpg

One of my all time fave movies, nice lineup you have there... but I'd trade out one of the Zora's (prob snake) for a JF Sebastian...

    T.

    That's a great custom! :D

I recently watched the 'Director's Cut' & it still 'cut's it ' with me,all time great film. But.....have you noticed with me there's often a but.....the score (Vangelis) really dated the movie. Without the score you would not have known this was a 26 year old movie, Vangelis however confirmed that it was. Minimates box-set would work.

Hee hee Sorry, buttheadsmate, but I love the Vangelis soundtrack...It's the song that plays on my Myspace page. ;) I still think it's futuristic.

  11. My dream license would be Blade Runner!

    We could have:

Deckard w/ his trench coat and cool gun

Roy Batty w/ a dove and a nail through his hand

Gaff w/ an origami unicorn and cane

    Rachel

    Pris w/the racoon makeup

Zhora in her exotic dancer outfit w/snake

Zhora in the clear plastic coat she got shot in.

    Dr. Tyrell

    Leon

Oh and a Voight-Kamph machine to find out who's a replicant!

Who else loved this movie!

  12. Being an old-timer, I remember when this movie came out and EVEN then, I refused to go see it. However, I think it's cool that Madonna has a cigarette. I'm so sick of the anti-smoking freaks, I may buy one just for that!

Yeah, it seems like we get a disproportionate number of smoking Minimates with Starbuck, Kingpin, and Madonna. Where is DST's sense of civic duty? Don't you know that every other kid seeing this is going to say to him/herself: "damn that Madonna Minimate looks cool, maybe I'll try smoking, too!"

I suspect that this is the result of back-room deals between DST and RJ Reynolds execs.

Get into the Groove(sorry...had to)! Thank God they aren't being politically correct or we'd never see a Buffalo Bill minimate (Of course to the Public Health loonies, smoking is obviously worse than making a "Woman Skinsuit")

Seriously though, I think we should all buy this set just to show DC that their decision to end their line was a poor one.

Let's make Rosanna Arquette outsell Superman! ;)

  13. I'm not into any of the characters in this wave and probably won't be getting them. I'm waiting for Gambit, Black Panther, Psylocke, and Black Widow. I'm happy for the fans that do like the wave's line-up though, and since I'm a late-comer to the whole minimates thing, I'll just use this time to get some of the non-comics lines...like the Silence of the Lambs and such. I've been meaning to get some other liscenses, my collection is so comic book based.

  14. Just gt the set and I must say that AF spidey is the best spidey ever. In fact, I have a box of minimates I use with one of each character in it and I have the box of minis that are variants of a type of character. I have now officially removed Series 2 Spidey from that use box and replaced him with AF spidey. It was a momentous occasion.

I only started getting minimates a few months ago and spent a lot of money on e-bay getting as many A-list characters that I missed as possible. I was glad for the AF Spidey coming out because I didn't have to dish out extra money for the Series 2 Spidey. He's my best version as well...My other Spidey's were battle-damaged because they just came with the Sandman and Spider-Woman I bought.

  15. Six on a stripper's pole.post-2001-1207670861_thumb.jpg

    http://www.minimatemultiverse.com/index.ph...amp;#entry68570

Now..... earlier today you explained your name. Something about ...'looking like a pole'.....if you look like the pole do NOT send me a PM however if you resemble Six...

 Don't worry, I promise only to post minimate pictures on here. I did get a 9.4 on "Hot or Not" though! :P

    Only 9.4 ? :(

I lucked out. If they knew I loved minimates instead of wind surfing or something they would have probably given me a lower score. I'm a nerd that doesn't look nerdy. ;)
