  1. Unfortunately, if DCD does this, they probably will feel the need to throw Superman and Batman into every set possible. It's just what they do. I don't think they would grasp the fact that most of us want as many different characters as possible, not just variations on those two.

    Anyway, my suggestions, which modify some of those already posted:

    JLofA: Martian Manhunter, Black Canary, Elongated man, Firestorm, Zatanna (completes the Satellite era team);

    JSA: Green Lantern, Hourman, Dr Mid-Nite, Starman, The Atom (all GA versions);

    Teen Titans: Wonder Girl, Kid Flash, Changeling, Aqualad, Speedy (completes the NTT and offers the SA TT);

    Vertigo: Dream, Death, Swamp Thing, Hellblazer, Animal Man;

    New Gods (New Genesis): Orion, Mr. Miracle, Big Barda, Lightray, Highfather;

    New Gods (Apokalips): Darkseid, Desaad, Granny Goodnes, Kalibak, Verminn Vundibar (a personal favorite!);

    Batman's Rogues Gallery: Two Face, Riddler, Scarecrow, Poison Ivy, Ras Al Gul;

    Flash's Rogues Gallery: Mirror master, Captain Cold, Captain Boomerang, Prof. Zoom, Weather Wizard;

    Showcase (characters that 1st appeared in Showcase): Atom, Adam Strange, Creeper, Hawk & Dove

    That's all I've got for now. :D

    See, I'm a current age collector. I would be really pissed if all that was offered was GA and SA stuff. I like Modern costumes and figures, and I would want them to be released. And I did put in a Veritgo set. Can't get more modern then that!

    That's why I think they should release box-sets of individual characters. Now that would be sweet. :P

    I'm still putting some thought into what I would do for Modern Age stuff (it will probably keep me up tonight), so I see your point. Most of my thinking is wanting to fill out lineups and collections the best way possible.

    So are you the guy that wants the Montoya Question ahead of Vic Sage? :D

    Ha ha ha ha...no, no, no. I miss Vic. I don't have a strange abhorent hatred for Montoya, though. An aside, however, I think the Montoya Minimate is hideous. I hate (BOTH VIC AND MONTOYA) the Question in blue. The Spirit should be in blue, the Question in tan. :angry:

  3. I just don't understand why DCD haven't picked up on the direct sales model. Hasbro seems to do just fine selling directly to the consumer online, and lapping up all of the gravy left over between cost and MSRP – profit that usually goes to a retailer.

    They'd probably have just as many sales, if not more, as if they stuck with their traditional LCS model.

    I buy toys that I can pass on to my kids when I have them. DCD figures...blah. I'd be embarrassed giving those figures to my kids. They hardly have any articulation.

    Now, Minimates. They have great articulation and they work well with the Lego's I have for my kids. You're dead to me DCD. Dead.

  4. Wow, some people are asses, huh? Personally, my computer has a scroll bar on the right hand side of the screen, and if I don't want to read someone's post, all I have to do is tug that sucker down and I don't need to read it.

    No need to be a dick about it. Besides, if you really hated his post so bad, don't reply in it. All you did was bump it back up. Ignore it and it will go away.

  5. Just got this news from our friend Pat at Action Figure Express. The Civil War Minimates Box Set is an AFX exclusive that will be offered for the first time at New York Comic Con. After the con, they will be available at shopafx.com. The set is limited to only 2000 sets worldwide, but some stock will be held back for website orders. Also, several sets will be given away here at the Multiverse, so stay tuned.

    Only 2000? Man...what about fans of Avengers: The Initiative (like myself) who are gonna need 3 Scarlet Spiders? I hope the Iron Spider comes with the yellow claw things on the back too...but seeing as how bulky Doctor Octopus' arms ended up...it may just detract from the figure. :( Nitro looks awesome though, and I have been hoping for a Modern Iron Man and between this one and the movie ones, it probally one be hard to kitbash a really good Extremis Iron Man.

    Overall, looks like an awesome set...gonna have to order 3 of those ;)

  6. I always intended to do what I did when the Hal figure came out.

    I cut the glasses off of a Bruce Banner hairpiece, and sharpie (and later painted brown) over the teeny tiny part where the white plastic underneath showed (it's incredibly minor and doesn't detract from the look at all) and used that.

    It's my favorite.

    Yeah, I thought about doing that, but last night I stumbled upon a picture of the Marty McFly hair, and I was sold. Gonna pick one up off the 'bay, and slap his hair on Hal.

  7. So, I don't know if anyone else feels the same way I do...but I don't like Hal Jordan having the same hair piece as Superman. I don't remember Hal ever having a spitcurl.

    I put a Peter Parker hair piece on him, but without the spitcurl, Hal ends up with about 6 inches of forehead...it's a bit much. Does anyone know of a better hair that can work on Jordan?

    Thanks!

  8. Cloak and Dagger make more sense as they are quite prominant in the Marvel Universe at the moment, and in the last few years. I'll be buying both War Machines, but no others.

    Nova is HUGE right now in the Marvel Universe, staring in his own series and being involved with both Annihilations and in the outcome of Civil War. Cloak and Dagger recently have played a little role in Runaways and Civil War. Gamora is Nova's villain in the series. IMO, Modern Nova and Gamora make more sense then Cloak and Dagger. But I will be buying the whole set, so I'm happy all around.

  9. If you want them, GO GET THEM. They aren't under lock and key. Sure you'll pay more, but the thrill of the hunt makes them that much more enjoyable.

    Yeah....not footin' that big of a bill for figures that are, in my opinion, sub-par.

    I think the C3 Martain Manhunter is HIDEOUS and can't wait for AA to retread him. Personally, I hope they make a modern costume version. BWA HA HA HA HA HA!

  10. Yeah...most of the C3 Minimates are upwards of $30 dollars. Nightwing is around $15.

    So let's see...there's Flash - $30. Nightwing - $15. Martian Manhunter - $45. Robin (Tim Drake) - $20. Batgirl (Cassandra Cain) - $30. Catwoman - $15. Darksied - $15. Man-Bat - $30.

    That's... $200. $200. $200!

    No thanks. Remake them all for me DCD. And frankly, all the remakes have looked better than the C3s.
