just counted... excluding any doubles, i've got 125 marvel mates. anyone exactly how many there have been so far? some people seem to have an incredible number of doubles... or have made quite a few customs!

i've done a black adam custom... with the namor head and hair, but simply repainted a captain marvel mate. personally, i think it's fantastic! aven't started a proper custom thread yet, but will do later tonight, you can check it out then if you wish *thumbs up*

good call on the hair less two-face, having seen the pictures for the dark knight! working on a two-face myself at the moment, toying with ideas, not 100% on the scarred half yet. overall, fantastic customs... especially love the ultimate x-men and various batman n' villains. good work

so a couple of people have expressed an interest in getting their hands on a couple of these packs, for amongst other reasons, upgrading cap with new boots and belt. I too think this is a good idea, and would love to, i've been bothered by his lack of height. will, however, this be pheasible? do we reckon they'll be enough to go around? it's no trouble to get hold of a defenders set for dirt cheap on ebay (i myself have one, still in the box it came in... which i bought by accident, believe it or not!), but with only 2000 of these, will it be the same story? i'm just worried about not getting one set at the moment, being in UK an' all, let alone another cap. btw... my cap has a spare US agent belt at the moment

ah, i've never had a problem with ebay US, and there are a few sellers dedicated to minimates, which means combined postage is excellent ('the minimate shop'.. is £2.50 for loose figs, not matter ow many you buy). i've never bought minimates from UK ebay, there's never anything you can't pick up from forbidden planet or play.com

thanks for the compliments guys! spidey pig - thakns very much, i'm very proud of it, being the first custom i've done myself. used to paint quite a bit, and it seemed to all come flooding back straight away... there's a much closer pic in the custom section, check it out dan - ebay! i wasn't even signed up to ebay before i started collecting mates, now i look pretty much daily for something i need going cheap. it was my birthday and christmas not long after i started collecting; my dad and a few friends know their stuff when it comes to comic books, figures, etc. so when i was asked, i knew exactly what i wanted! think i pretty much got the whole of the DC line then (there's only 5 i don't have atm), amongst others, which meant i've been able to concentrate on marvel since then. there's some real cheap ones on ebay now and then, and, to finally answer your question, i got the symbiote and venom two-pack, still in it's packaging for something like £15/30dollars in january, i think. the description didn't even mention the spidey, just venom, had to check with the seller to see if the auction was actually for the pack in the picture. only a few weeks later did i begin to realise it's something of a rarity! i NEARLY feel guilty for having it before some much longer-term collectors. she-thing - that's the question that got me! i wasn't sure, so went to the database to check... and eventually i realised it was infact a custom. i've got it in front of me now... it's the kitty body, with navy over the clear parts, matching yellow hands, and feet i havent yet indentified. the effect on the feet has been carried on, on the lower legs. the ead is NXM pheonix. i feel quite impressed now with it, if the colours were reversed it'd be a perfect jim lee jean. shall get a new, close up pic of my jean asap (probably at the weekend)

i'm moving house in less than a week, and plan to then find a perminant home for my mates, as it is i've just stood them up on a little table to share. i've been collecting since Nov 2007, so i'm very pleased with my collection so far EDIT: i've not stuck up all the variants of Batman, Spidey, Wolverine, etc... i did however feel the need to stick up C3 Flash and Symbiote Spiderman!

i've posted a couple of times on the forum, but just realised i've never introduced myself. my collection includes DC, Marvel, Star Trek, 24 and Rocky, although next payday i'm very likely to get my hands on both BTTF and BSG mates as well. i'm 20yo and based in the UK, both London and Stoke-on-Trent, and have been a collector since November 2007 (my first sets were the spidey 5-pack, batman/omac and robin/penguin). i'll post my collection i the appropriate thread section, and also, if you've not seen it check out my Kyle Rayner custom that section, more feedback would be welcome! so... in summary, howdy!

Howdy... I only stumbled across the custom section on here a couple of days ago. As of yet, i've only ever done one custom, a couple of weeks ago, of myself (which was only really a quick custom, with a painted hairpiece). Having been v.disappointed with all thats going on with DC mates, and a Lantern fan, have been thinking about having a go at a Kyle Rayner. After seeing Graham's fantastic KR customs, i was sold. Pretty much know what i'm doing... got a spare Hal on it's way... put some extra black over the green on the sides of the torso take up the green at the top of the sleeves green up the gloves and white on sleeve make the boots black, with white stripe up the middle 'Ion' symbol so, after that... i'v got the head to be thinking about... been giving it a bit of thought all day, browsing on here, and on the database, then noticed my own Nightwing (latest DC wave). Stuck his head on my proper Hal, and it's nearly perfect, going to adjust the mask a little, make it green, sort the shape out a little. thought i'd mention it, and in the process ask a couple of questions to the pros out there, most importantly, can i do this as i've imagined, will the green and white be fine simply with a sharpie? will a white sharpie go over the green paint, albiet with a couple of layers? thanks for any help... i'll post up a couple of pics when its done (not long after that Hal arrives, hopefully) UPDATED: as promised, here's a pic, took a couple of hours, left to dry overnight then given a matt varnish. any comments welcome

i made a version of myself just last weekend... and it is, pretty much EXACTLY the same as yours. Only differences are that i've painted my hair and jacket darker, and with a proper red spidey torso (wave 2 style).... as that's my fav tshirt, by far. apart from that... we're twins!
