  1. I remember seeing in somone's customizing thread I believe, that they were able to drill a hole through the crotch piece, and insert a small metal pin of some kind and use sculpting putty to reform the ball joints for the legs. You would also need to drill out the remaining plastic from the severed leg also. I had to fix a busted Nightcrawler, but I painted a new crotch piece to match, and drilled the plastic from the leg. Either way you cut it, it's a PITA.

    BS

would've suggested something like this. had to do the same with my nightcrawler, but as it was plain black, i simply replaced the top half of the leg as well

  2. Neither one is listed on dccomics.com so I'm gonna go out on limb and say notg for awhile. Sorry.

    *sigh* fair enough

i did check there first... was hoping someone might know more than us mere mortals... or have powers or something

  3. well i'd never heard of him

anyway, manged to get hold of BN#2, Batman BN#1... and the big FP in London had the free comic book date BN#0, with the lovely black ring, a v.pleasant suprise.

so, this seems like the most appropriate place to ask this, at the moment anyway. I've been looking around online in search of information, with no luck.

can anybody... tell me if they've announced the release dates for Rage of the Red Lanterns and Secret Origins in paperback/softcover yet? I really dont like hardbacks, they look silly.

  4. the classic set is a definately yes for me. not knowing the series/era, or liking the costumes, i'd been considering the x-factor one for the updated iceman (lose the belt) and possibly a civilian scott. having seen that supposed upodate, with the X on iceman, thats a pass from me.

but yes... that classic set, a long time want.... horrah

  5. glad a few of you've had success recently tracking the exclusives down, particularly BE/MS. we were told theres more of them out there than your average variant, right? im just worried a huge chunk of them are still sitting in TrU warehouses.

i myself, have made a preeettttyyy heafty offer on an ebay lot... thunderbolts and BE/MS 2-pack. *fingers crossed*

  6. :D god i cant wait for these i hope that with all these x-men mates upcoming they dont forget about the villains like you guys were talking about mimic would be awsome this would be my line up for a brotherhood set(the same way there formating the x-factor&fa sets)

    brotherhood box

    ---------------------

    pyro

    avalanche

    toad

    blob

    tru 2 pack

    -------------------

mystique(black costume w/ extra shapeshift pieces)

    juggernaught(powerhouse)

i really hope these and many more x-men and x-men villains get made

brotherhood set is just what i'd put in the 'most wanted box set' thread

    i approve

  7. (again, wtf doesn't count)

By the way, I'm curious how that doesn't count (or any other acronym one might use to avoid saying a word but still implying it). Really, I'm just curious.

... The evolution of words, like Cool meaning Neat, or another example that I can't think of.

    WTCHOP

this one raised an eyebrow with me too, if the implication is there... it still counts in my book, shirley. Oh, and if anything, all these abbreviations n' what not... in my books, thats the devolution of words!

Unfortunately ,in certain quarters, in the UK the word 'fudge' when placed in front of the word 'packer' is offensive to certain.....er..groups...of....er.....like-minded males

really? which quarters? i've lived in a few, and thats lightweight, by anyone's standards.

My issue with Webhead's sig (and a few other re-occuring pictures) isn't just my kids, it's my wife. I asked once who it was in the picture just so I'd at least know who it is and be able to give some kind of non-chalant answer if she ever sees it and asked. But, like the language issue, I'm sure I'm in the minority here.

Have you thought about shooting Webhead a friendly PM and explaining why you have an issue with it, He's a pretty reasonable guy and might take it down if you ask nicely?

    T.

    Nooooooooo!

In all seriousness, as much as I do 'enjoy' his sig, I understand this completely... can take a little explaining if someone happens to be peering over your shoulder.

On the swearing, frankly there is no need. I've no problem with swearing, if someone just been severely annoyed or bashed themselves or something silly, and it just pops out... i'd be Captain Hypocrite to criticise. However, I don't think anyone could manage to accidently type out a specific word, then hit the post button. Its not big, and its not clever... perhaps funny (perhaps), but not necessary.

  8. I think I overheard some high school girls talking about Minimates at school the other day.

Why is this funny? This is a Catholic girl's school and as far as I know I'm the only person in it who actually knows what Minimates are :P

sounds like your addiction was simply given a promotion to me!

i remember a few years ago i'd just got on a bus and sat at the back. there was this young woman and older man sitting on the other side, looking somewhere between awkward and guilty. after a couple of minutes, she sighed and looked up, asking 'why did you follow me to work?'. He spent the next 10 or so minutes repeatedly asking, in various tones...

'don't you love daddy? ... why don't you love daddy?'

... i tried my best to not laugh

  9. they're showing the 2nd series for the first time in the US right now, aren't they? Great cartoon, a lot of fun, like the animation style a lot.

oh... and the 90s cartoon is coming out on DVD v.soon, i've heard

    *checks*

in fact, the first series is already out in the UK, and 2 and 3 available from August

  10. Boba, Secret Origin is a great rewrite of the origin story! Do it!

Seriously though, it's expensive to even consider, but if you really want to get every thing you can out of BN you should pick up the stuff that's happened since Sinestro War. Otherwise, characters like LArFleeze, Atrocitus &Saint Walker will have no emotional side to them.

    cheers Nestle

turns out they were sold out of SO, so I got No Fear instead. The more i'm reading of all thats going on, i'm wanting to read more, and v.much plan on working my way through the 'reader's guide' on the DC site. I've also had a good look at the BN checklist, and will definately be getting BN:Batman... The cover for #2 seems to have the batfamily as Ghostbusters!

off to read my new purchases... good night *insert relevant pun here*

  11. are these guys THAT bad? I do fancy that SDCC Anti-Monitor to go with my mates

I'm not sure why you would. I mean, the line already sucks with paint apps and articulation; they're just plain ugly. Then you have the fact that The Anti-Monitor says exclusive, and will cost up to $50 after the show, and then there's him being ONLY 3 3/4"!! It's a bummer since there's almost no way to get 1 of 4 mega-Anti-Monitors...:(

In other words, don't bother. If you don't get about anything like paint or articulation and just want it to pose with them, think about the awful scale.

that pretty much answers my question then

    1 of 4 mega-Anti-Monitors? go on...

  12. y'know, for a long time Green Lantern has been of my fav 2/3 superheroes... when i first heard about the whole new spectrum of lanterns, war of light, etc. I was v.v.sceptical. Some part of me felt it almost devalued the Green Lanterns, having always been this awesome, unique force.

last week i got hold of Sinestro Corps war vol.2 and BN#1... i'm sold. What Johns is doing with GL is some of the best stuff i've ever read; action-packed, emotional, and quite frankly... its believable. Enough of the existing mythos has been incorporated... this stuff is timeless.

tomorrow... i shall skip into to town to get GL#43 + 44, as well as the Secret Origin paperback.

  13. s'pose this is the right place to post this...

i was just looking for an anti-monitor to go with my mates, and after a quick ebay search there seems to be a SDCC 2009 DCU exclusive. They're pretty heafty prices on ebay, from $20-$50. Shirely they'll come down and be available afterward the con?

That said, if these are a more realistic price at SD, and someone lovely has the time... I have paypal at the ready

    big hugs x
