  1. They could give us a new Thunderbird with an extra head for Warpath, or vice versa.

    ^ This.

Or...a whole wave devoted to finishing off X-Force in a wave as well as start X-Factor... Wave 55 maybe?

    Siryn and Sunspot

    Stryfe and Gideon

Multiple Man (troop builder/X-Factor costume) and Warpath with variant Thunderbird

And then maybe have a TRU wave or something to go along that starts to add the rest of X-Factor in...

    Havok and Polaris

    Strong Guy and Wolfsbane

Quicksilver (whom needs a good updating) and Valerie Cooper

  2. What's with the people mentioning around here about the line ending? Has someone hinted at something like that, because I sure as heck hope not.

This has been my 'go to' line for Marvel figures now for years. DST has given us little mini-figures of characters never made in toy form before as well as characters in certain costumes I never thought I'd see in toy form. They were first to give a complete Blue/Gold 90s X-Men team (now how about 90s X-Factor and a 90s Warpath and Siryn to finish X-Force), one the teams I've pined to have a complete form of for years...

Now if we ever see Power Pack in minimate form...that'll be the most surprisingly thing ever in my mind...

In the meantime, if we do get a Falcon, Baron Strucker, and Winter Soldier in this wave that'll cross off some more characters on my list to be minimate made.

  3. 90s X-Factor (Havok, Polaris, Strong Guy, Wolfsbane, Multiple Man, and new updated Quicksilver)

Inhumans (Meduca, Karnak, Gorgon, Triton, and Crystal)

Brotherhood of Evil Mutants (Blob, Toad, Pyro, Avalanche, Mastermind and a new updated Mystique)

Generation X (White Queen, Banshee, Jubilee, Skin, Chamber, Husk, M, Synch, Penance)

Wrecking Crew (Wrecker, Piledriver, Thunderball, and Bulldozer)

and a team I'd be surprised if we EVER got in any legit toy form...

Power Pack (Zero-G, Lightspeed, Mass Master, Energizer)

  4. Any word if we're going to see any additional Marvel Now costumes after this wave?

Since Marvel Now is basically what Marvel looks like... uh, now, any modern version of a character we're looking at is a Now costume. Can't imagine everybody we do going forward will be Silver Age. Although a few '90s costumes need doing.

    Yes like X-Factor

    ^THIS^

^^^^^^^^ This very much indeed. And a 90s Warpath, Sunspot, and Siryn for completion of 90s X-Force. ^^^^^^^^^^

  5. Hey Luke.

You'll be offering the full set of 8 of this wave on your website, right? I see everything listed individually available right now, but not the option to just get all 8 in one go. I really want this wave (and a few of the Best of). Hopefully TRU will soon follow on their website with their packs.

    We have it here: http://lukestoystore.com/marvel-minimates-series-48-fantastic-four-full-set-of-8/

Aw. Link page says they're in-stock, but also says 'currently unavailable' so I can't order.

  7. This latest Q and A makes me kind of sad... Universal Monsters is dead!? LEGO's Monster Fighters line gave such awesome backdrops for them and I was hoping to see Invisible Man and maybe Phantom of the Opera, and... *sob*

And still no chance of child minimates!? I want Power Pack (and will continue to push for them) in minimate form, but not all of them looking the same height as the rest of the mates...at least Jack and Katie...

  8. Boxsets tend to never show up for my at my local TRU, so I order them online. Otherwise, I do find the new waves of 2-packs eventually (still need to get a Cammy from Street Fighter x Tekken)...

If DST ever gets around to making 90s X-Factor and 90s Forge and Banshee (with classic variant) as well as the missing members of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants (Toad, Pyro, Avalanche, Blob) I will declare DST as the godliest of toy companies. They already have my total devotion thanks to the 90s X-Men complete, the Outback X-Men complete, and almost 90s X-Force complete (we at least need a 90s Warpath).

Marvel Minimates helped me kick my Marvel Legends habit big time. Better character selection, more options of said characters in appearance, and heck of a space saver.

I don't think I'll stop collecting minimates until DST kills the line, which hopefully is not for a very VERY long time still. We still need a number of teams completed and characters made (*hint, hint* Power Pack *hint, hint*)

  9. I meant to use the bicep half since it has the X.

Ah. Well, from watching the episodes he appears in again, it seems his X symbol is on the front of his jacket, not his arm. I bought some tampo paper and stuff recently to try and maybe make that actually. Just need to test run things before I do anything first. >_>

  10. What about 90s Rogue jacket arms? And for face maybe transformation venom? You could flip between normal and "sinister" versions

Well, Rogue's jacket arms are short sleeved.

Morph in the cartoon had a long sleeve jacket on like Cyclops would sometimes wear.

As for the head...I want one that is kind of comical or arrogant since Morph was a jokester before his brainwashing.

This is the jacket I mentioned using...

    http://www.minimatedatabase.com/figure.php?i=1261&n=Civil+War+Captain+America

I worry about removing the 'A' on the arm due to it looking like the arms are painted. If they were molded in that brown color I'd be fine. Would maybe just a diluted nail polish work maybe?

  11. Okay, Marvel Minimate customizers...

So I've been working on a 90s X-Men cartoon Morph minimate. I wish I had a second 90s Cyclops for the legs, but otherwise I'm using that Wolverine body where all the X-Men briefly wore blue/yellow again in the 90s and the TRU Civil War Captain America jacket. Just wondering...

Anyone got a good idea for his face? I think I'm going to use Iron Man 2's Race car Tony Stark hair.

Also, is the Avengers "A" on the CW Cap's arm removeable without removing the paint?

  12. Let me elaborate on what I think would be a good Street Fighter line:

Released in 4 figure sets perhaps

    World Warriors pt 1

    Ryu

    E Honda

    Zangief

    Dhalsim

    World Warriors pt 2

    Ken

    Chun Li

    Blanka

    Guile

    Shadaloo

    Balrog

    Vega

    Sagat

    M. Bison

    The New Challengers

    Cammy

    Fei Long

    Dee Jay

    T. Hawk

    Alpha pt 1

    Charlie

    Adon

    Gen

    Rose

    Alpha pt 2

    Sakura

    Birdie

    R. Mika

    Dan

    Metro City

    Guy

    Cody

    Rolento

    Sodom

    SF3 pt 1

    Alex

    Hugo

    Elena

    Oro

    SF3 pt 2

    Ibuki

    Makoto

    Necro

    Urien

    SF3 pt 3

    Yun

    Yang

    Q

    Gill

    SF4 pt 1

    Abel

    C Viper

    El Fuerte

    Rufus

    SF4 pt 2

    Juri

    Hakan

    Gouken

    Seth

    SF5?

The obvious ones are at the top. If it was successful enough, it could eventually have enough fanbase to get to the more obscure SF3 characters etc... or, as much as I hate to say it, they could mix in alternate versions of more pupular characters. I think they do that with Marvel? Oh well, I doubt this would happen anytime soon after the SFxT releases but it's fun making lists...

By the way, I am a big fan of Karin from SF Alpha but she is not owned by Capcom and would probably be a licensing nightmare, hence the reason I skipped her.

Thing is with your list, you could honestly remove Ryu, Ken, Chun Li, Guile, Zangief, Sagat, C. Viper, Rufus, Abel, Hugo, and Cammy as they've already got nice modern minimates.

  13. llama - The latest ask DST said that Wave 3 is no longer on the cards.

I just looked at the recent ask DST entries. I see the part that says they have no plans for series three but I never thought they had a series 3 planned yet. That still leaves open the possbiility depending on how series 2 does, but I guess it does seem unlikely.

I guess it would just be another of many short-lived SF lines. Sota was the best. I hope the play arts line sticks around for awhile but at $50-$60 each and only four releases a year, it would take over a decade and a lot of money to get to the obscure characters.

If we could get a complete version of the Super Street Fighter II cast in some toy form I'd be a happy camper. SOTA was SO close with their SF line. They just needed DeeJay at the end.

  14. So Zach, any chance next years TRU poll set could be a Spidey TTA set?

And yes, i can't believe after all of these years I'll finally come out as a fan of all the different Spider-Man Minimates and admit I want more. I've hidden for a long time, but I finally can admit it openly without fear of ridicule.

Honestly, I'd only be interested in a Spidey set if we got full tampos on them again. Or they did costumes that were not web covered like an updated Spider-Man 2099, The Amazing Bag Man, a Peter Parker with quick hero mask, and a modern or classic Scarlet Spidey.

  15. So yeah, the awesome 90s-ness of this set got me thinking and with how people keep talking about a new Carnage...

I got a way for them to make a new Carnage...

    How about a symbiote boxset?

Based on one of the various symbiote storylines of the 90s or something maybe? Anyone? ...Zach?

It could include a new Carnage, Scream, Toxin, and Hybrid maybe.

Future 2-packs could later on include Lasher, Phage, Agony, and Riot.
