This prompted me to go back and look at all of the old Adventure Team stuff, and I'm getting more excited about these. I remain unconvinced that these will sell like Mini-Hotcakes, but I'm certainly on-board for a set. And they'll be single-carded? I can't wait to see the art. I love retro 70s action ephemera.

I also came to a bit of a shocking revelation: I actually owned Luminous as a kid. I had no idea it was a Joe figure. Seeing pictures of the vintage figure triggered all sorts of old-toy memories. I never had any of the other figures, so maybe my folks picked it up on a whim once it hit clearance.

I am certain it's an issue of exposure, because how could these not sell?? They are golden. Have you sent a set to Hisstank.com for a review? Or secondarily Yojoe, GeneralsJoes, 3DJoes? Looks like someone already mentioned Hasbro's feed, that would be fantastic exposure.

I used to, until these Joes came out.  And now also the D&D mates, because those boxes are epic throwbacks to the old rulebooks I grew up with.

These are cool looking, and I love any and all vintage nods. I might be just a tad bit young to remember the originals. AT FIFTY. But they recall vague memories I have of playing with similar toys from Remco and Marx. I may even have had an AT jungle hunt set with a big jeep. I seem to recall flocked beards. But I'm sure these old toys disintegrated or were garage-saled before my collecting days really began in earnest.

But if the intent is to find something you think will sell better than 80s Joes... I don't even know where to start kicking the tires on that logic. I'm sure there are plenty of 60+ collectors out there still, and even on these boards, but if you couldn't get the 80s Joes to catch fire, what's the plan of attack here?

If this is a passion project that Chuck wanted to squeak out before you retire Joe Mates, that would make more sense. I'm not opposed to these in the least, but the logic doesn't track.

I will donate them to science and replace them with cyborg Cobra BAT eyes.

I saw that there is now planned a Fan Expo for DST -- any MiniMate reveals planned? Will the DD set be shown?

Six months later...

I kept tweaking and adjusting, and I ended up needing to source more hands, accessories, and a new head. Everything is assembled, more or less. Now it's just that "light" painting, and photography left over. But finding the time to set up and knock out any painting is proving difficult. So maybe in another six months? Hopefully less.

(it's also super silly and will be anti-climactic, because these are the Q-est of Cs you've ever seen)

Ah that's super interesting BHM! I found the cover online, but no panels. I need to see these full-color "alternate universe" variants.

But on a positive note, one could probably custom paint an Aliens APC, which was pretty impressive in its own right.

This was the planned MAX "police" variant of the APC vehicle that did not, I believe, even receive a release in its primary colors.

Might have to track down that Batgirl head. And other Sentry. And Deathstroke parts so that spare Hobgoblin cape can get used for something besides Hellcat's accessory.

Your Hellcat is looking great! A Corsair belt will be an easy update for mine, but Nova may cost a bit to track down (and I can't unsee its perfection now).

I used Secret Invasion Beast hands for the claws, which is a nice finishing touch.

Jewel, backwards. Corsair would be better (great call!), but he wasn't available at the time.

I did a very easy Hellcat QC many years ago. I may eventually go back and paint the eyes white:

+1 to a classic 70s Wasp. And as many Hank and Scott variants as they'll give us. And their villains, like Whirlwind and Crossfire.

Oy, I will be bummed if Typhoid Mary dropped. 

The three that I hope haven't shifted are: Daredevil, Elektra, Typhoid Mary.

If these weren't a box set, I'd probably be in for multiples of DD & Elektra for some parts reuse. Pretty much every one of my Daredevil mates needs that radar effect now.  It's brilliant.
