Seconded! You just made an accessory that had always irritated me (because it's not like he can properly hold it, so it kept falling off the bookshelf when I bumped into it) into one of the best ever. Skull-faced Cap, (with a weeping into his hands Iron Man above him) here we come!
Uh, that isn't the skull that Grodd came with. It looks to be the Target Ghost Rider skull.
Darn it! You're right, that would only work on a tall DC minimate. Oh well, at the rate Didio has been killing characters off, someone will be eligible shortly.

I intend to go for all four days (whether I can rope a friend into going who is as enthusiastic as me is another story). I'd be willing to pick up some for fellow minimate fans who can't attend for one reason or another. PM me to work out details.

Am I the only one who doesn't really like the '70s style Batman? It's not a BAD minimate by any stretch of the imagination, but I think a Two Face minimate done in the style of the Cyborg Superman would have been ten times as awesome. Take off the acid scarred half of his face, stick him in Gaius Baltar's suit, and you've got a Harvey Dent! Two for the price of one. Plus then a new character would have been represented, and Clayface is also a member of Batman's rogues gallery so even the match-up makes sense.

Great idea with the skull-faced Barry.

But where is Rose? How can there be a naughty Doctor/Jack/Rose threesome without a Rose? I'm thrilled, but, but ROSE!

It really shows what an amazing creator the man was that despite the lack of an animated film category, Walt Disney is still the man to win the most Academy Awards, with 64 nominations and 26 Oscars.

I actually like the poncho slung over the shoulder much more then the original one. Wasn't going to bother with these sets but seeing the second one I'm becoming more interested. Got to say loving the holsters on these mates just need some duel holsters one gun on each side.
They are going to have a hard time selling me Madonna minimates.
I kind of like the poncho too-cloth would be branching out into entirely new and expensive territory. Ditto on the becoming more interested, even if I'm just gonna turn them into Deadwood characters. Before it seemed like too much work, but with more suitable figures it looks like I'm hooked.
Madonna will be a hard sell. I mean, I'm a GIRL and I can't see ever buying a set from a romantic comedy of sorts. I do like some of them-You've Got Mail for instance, but give me Sin City minimates way before Madonna.

These are gonna make some awesome Deadwood customs. Al Swearengen will be beating on Trixie in no time! Mrs. Garret might actually get some proper widow's weeds at this rate.

He is my top wanted villian too.
I personally want to see Dr. Zoom, Black Adam, and Crime Syndicate baddies the most, but as far as Marvel goes, beyond a Modok (which I'm not sure would work in Minimate form), Red Skull is right up there. He's laughing at me from a Sideshow Collectibles banner as I write! That cruel, cruel bastard!
I know-that Sideshow banner first made me laugh and is now just mocking me. Especially since when I clicked on it and went for the 360 look to see their take on the uniform, it caused my browser to crash. You won this round, Red Skull!

It's never too early to start planning for San Diego, especially when the convention hotel rooms were released to the public this morning.
Who's thinking about making the trip this year?
::Raises hand:: I'm lucky though, I just have a three hour drive down. Hopefully I can convince one of my female friends to split room costs, otherwise I'm SOL as far as staying for the whole thing.

Wow. Those beat out Archie Mcphee in terms of weirdness. And they created remote controlled yodelling and hopping lederhosen action? figures. And Kubrick style figures of Beethoven, Mozart, Edgar Allan Poe, and Shakespeare (which sadly have their limbs fall off really easily).

UPDATE!!!(Sorry for the caps)--- DC Wave 7 moved up to feb. 13th. Hoorayy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Didn't know where to post or start new topic. So here it is.
Oh man. I have got to get some money together. And remember which site I pre-ordered one of the four sets from so I can get the rest from them and save on shipping. I should really keep track of that.
-
Teleportation so I could be free of shipping and handling. Then again, I could just ride on the backs of my loyal subjects..............
Assuming of course that your subjects are loyal and not simply pretending to be obedient until you naively climb on their backs...then BAM!-shiv between the ribs. Or ear poison. There is plenty of scope for creativity here after all.

Not sure abut the brain eating though...
Brains are surprisingly tasty. They do have a unique texture though, so you can't exactly forget what you're eating. Mmmm, sweetbreads. ::drools Homer Simpson style::

Similar to my situation: I started with Lord of the Rings minimates and decided to pick up a few superheroes I was fond of. Several months later, not only do I own hundreds of them, I also have a mainstream comics habit again. Marvel and DC should be thanking minimates for the fact that I am no longer in a monogamous relationship with Vertigo (and admittedly a few indies on the side-I'm easily tempted by good cover art).

Happy to meet you, fellow minimate fan. Welcome aboard.
-
Hello. Love your username. Is it Orion after the DC Fourth World character, or the constellation, or something else that isn't currently springing to mind? Either way, welcome aboard.

Alan Scott and Kyle Rayner would make a great pack to round out the green lanterns. They've both been members of JSA.

Enjoy, This joker for me is Jack Nicolson, i think its in the face.
Ditto for me. Jack Nicolson's demented grin in that movie has always stuck with me. Although now we might need a new Joker minimate with face makeup like in The Dark Knight.

I keep my Wonder Woman minimate in my pocket when I'm venturing out to do something stressful-like a test or interview. Her awesomeness is reassuring.

Unfortunately... 'the most indentifiable part of him is....a red skull. A skull is a death's- head & red is the pre-dominant colour (with black) in any Nazi paraphernalia. During WW2 Hitler's elite personal bodyguard , the Schutzstaffel(SS) ,wore the death's-head insignia. The elite within this elite were the Totenkopfverbande( Death's Head Unit) who had sole reponsibility for running the concentration camps .
Swastika or not .......need I go on?
I have been out history-nerded. This is what I get for avoiding all of those History Channel World War II documentaries. Did not know that. My (metaphorical) hat is off to you. Still, unlike the swastika, having a figure with a red death's-head for a head will not generate nearly as much commentary from people outside of comics fandom.
-
But when are we going to get other Cylons that we've been seeing since the miniseries, like Doral and Leoben? Or even Brother Cavill?
When nerdy fanboys stop drooling over every woman that's ever been in any sci-fi movie or TV show.
I realize I'm late to the party (I haven't had steady internet access for a week) but speaking as a nerdy fanGIRL I want a Doral, Leoben, Cavil, and Simon (the last on the principle of getting more humanoid Cylons). I have a huge fancrush (as in love to watch them on TV/talk about them but would never want to encounter them in real life, even if I find them disturbingly attractive) on Leoben and Cavil. The Leoben minimate is my number one choice, however. And I am advocating for a shirtless Anders. Girls enjoy eye candy too after all.
-
I am all for making a red skull figure. But NO WAY would I put him in a Nazi Outfit, no Arm Bands...nothing even close.
I agree. While I am ambivalent on having a villian action figure feature a swastika, I personally would probably not buy it, as I would not be comfortable displaying it proudly as part of my collection. But Red Skull is not Captain Nazi-the ultimate symbol of bigotry is not necessary to recognize the character. After all, the most identifiable part of him is, not surprisingly, his head being a red skull.

Grain of salt! GRAIN OF SALT!
Thank you. Everyone check Minimates Headquarters, they just addressed this issue on Jan 3-DST will not be making any more Marvel resin statues and busts.
DCD Batman Question
in DC & C3 Minimates
Posted
Exactly. He's just not an "I am the night" Bats. That cape would be spotted in a second in the shadows.
