  1. This one seems to be a type of pleather instead.

yeah, the movie ones do are made out of the pleather to look more movie like.

I got the SM3 Venom, and he struggles to pose as well, though if you work the little guy carefully, he can do some more. speaking of breakable collectibles, I've had fragility issues with RAH Jack Sparrow and Jango Fett. Sparrow's leg popped out at the hip, and I was able to pop it back in, but Jango's Foot snapped off in his shoe, rendering him useless to me. Luckily, Sideshow took him back no problem.

  2. And don't forget, dedicated Cyke fan, that Cyclops is involved in this upcoming flick. Not a lead, but he's there for more optic-blastification. I like him, too, but it's hard for him to seem as cool as a samurai badass who cuts people up with his knife hands...laser eyes vs. knife hands. Well, when I put it that way, "laser eyes" sounds cooler...but I still like Mr.Howlett a bit better. It depends though, because I do like Cyclops recent costume , the one that blends a few of his looks and has the cap.

It is refreshing to know another person that likes both Cyclops AND Wolverine. For some reason, most X-Fans think they have to choose one over another. I personally identify with Cyclops just a bit more. I think what I like most about Cyclops is that he is a strong, smart leader and strategist... and it has nothing to do with his powers. Sure his optic blasts are handy, but they are not as useful compared to a lot of other mutant powers. In a way, Cyclops is a strong X-Men because of his own human abilities, and not his mutant powers. I think that is cool. I like Wolverine because of his loyalty to his team, in spite his animal instincts and muddled history making him feel like a loner. Plus his fighting abilities and willingness to do anything for his team is impressive.

BUT, I don't mind seeing a lot of Wolverine, if he sells, and keeps the Marvel Minimate line afloat, then he is okay in my eyes.

I've always been a Cyke fan. I remember that as a kid, I always wanted wolverine and Cyclops to have their own show together.

That's exactly the way I look at it. A wolverine goon like me will pick up the logans in every set, and it will keep the obscure guys a' comin'.

  3. Also: I'm with you Two-Face in your latest rant. I was in heaven last year when Wolverine wasn't in the monthly X-Men OR Uncanny X-Men titles. It gave the other characters a well deserved chance to shine. It's called X-Men . . . not short, hairy canucks with aggression issues. I get that he's popular, and i'm happy he's a a part of the marvel universe. I'm just sick of him being the centre of it.

Bah! Fie on you both, Logan-haters.

I'm super excited for this year, I can't wait for the flood of Wolverine stuff. It'll be a surge of Logan stuff I haven't seen since I was a lad. It'll take me back.

Sorry for ranting, I'm tired. back to the point.

I'm getting this whole wave... twice, most likely. I like minimates based on real people, because I think that they make good new faces for comic minimates, giving them a neat blended look. So i'm getting one set for keepsies, and one for choppin' up.

  4. Just saw this:

    commiesnake.jpg

I've been wanting to get one of these bad boys for quite a while, and though $150+ will be pricey, it is much more reasonable than the $300-400 that the existing MGS3 Snakes usually go for. This is as good as bought (and will go very nicely with my Kubrick version :D ). :buttrock:

I've always wanted that MGS3 snake, too.

    Where's he for sale at?

  5. I believe it is time I made my concession speech;

    *ahem*

You bastards don't deserve me. This thing was rgged from the beginning. I hope all of you, even the ones who voted for me (BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T VOTE HARD ENOUGH!!!)choke on your own vomit. Better yet, choke on someone else's vomit. Cheat cheat, never beat, liar liar pants on fire.

    ...

In all seriousness though, this contest really showed the creativity of this board. As soon as I saw the Mignola Batman, I knew the bar was set for this thing. The entries were all awesome, and everyone deserved to place in this contest. I was happy to be a part of it.

  6. I didn't think I was gonna get it done in time, but here's my entry, a Zombie!

I really enjoyed taking a crack at this guy, it was challenging, but it eended up coming out really neat. I'm even considering future customs in this style!

    Best of luck everyone!

  7. These things are pretty dang addictive, too. What goes around comes around, and maybe now you will think twice before "pimping" expensive plastic to some of the more weak-willed board members :)

He looks great, though the shoe strings are just a tad too long, in my opinion (pretty freakin' cool that he has shoe strings at all, though). My Jack is supposedly in the mail as well, and I can't wait to get a hold of him. But in the mean time, I've got another friend waiting for him.

    He is one big sumbitch.

I love your collection...But I can't help but think that you shelf looks soooo expensive. there doesn't appear to be anything on there that would cost less than 60 dollars.

  8. lol, yes, I want old man Michaels. To me, his performances now are better than they were when he was younger.

You seeing foley at a little show is awesome, I would have loved to see one of these guys before they hit it big.

Mick was incredibly nice. He saw how starstruck me and my friends were,( the first time i met him, not pictured) and he broke the ice and talked to me about my friday the 13th shirt. He told me a great story about how he hung out with one of the jason actors. He ended up talking to us for like 20 minutes.

  9. I guess this is the right place to post this and I bet there are a few well talented folks around here who might be able to help you out with your comissions, but I guess it would be pretty good to post some pics, be precise on what you want, so everybody knows exactly what you're looking for. Just a thought.

    A valid point-

Shawn Michaels-He needs a five o'clock shadow, but I'm cool with either a serious or smirking expression, whichever looks more accurate

Adam Savage-I want him smiling with his teeth showing, but with regular blocky glasses, not sunglasses.

    Jamie Hyneman

Alton Brown-I want him with a smirk, and maybe one eyebrow raised a little bitty bit

  10. (If this doesn't belong here, I apologize, but it just made sense to post this here.)

I've been harassing a number of customizers on here about doing some commission work for me, but I decided to just get word out that I need some heads. I have minimates for trade or Paypal cash OR personal checks.

I'm not as coordinated as I would like, so I can't paint faces. I need some made, somehow. I don't know from decals, but if someone feels they could get the job done that way, that would be fine as well. I can draw the designs if you need me to, but no matter what I'll provide visual references.

If you only want to do full minimates, that's fine(maybe even better) too. we can negotiate, just shoot me a message.

    I need the following constructed:

    Shawn Michaels

    John Cena

    Penn

    Teller

    Jamie Hyneman

    Adam Savage

    Alton Brown

    Me

    Thanks in advance everyone.

  11. Good choice for your first Mugg. Hasbro did a great job on Dooku. I agree that the styling of the Muggs are pretty impressive for the most part.

I'm going to have to hit a couple local KB stores to see if they are running sales too.

Move as quick as you can if youre gonna check KB out, they were already at the 50-60% portion of their "50-70% off" sale. There was lots of Star wars figures and Godzillas left at the store I visited. I got some good deals.

  12. I got my first Mighty Mugg today, Count Dooku.

I got him from a KB Toys that was closing in my local mall, for $6.00. rather than the $12.99 he was originally priced at. There weren't any others, or I would have picked them up, too. Dooku is my favorite Star Wars character, so I've been eyeing this little guy for some time.

I didn't know how to feel about these things initially, but I have to say, I like him. He looks sharp, and the syle is neat. I think this ios one of those things that, for me, will be best in small doses. I'm gonna pick up Captain America and Wolverine next, if I can find them.

  13. Dooku v. maul-

I'll answer! My vote is for dooku. As explained in the Expanded universe, Dooku was more of a manilupator(sp), and less the crazed killing machine Maul was. But still no slouch in the lightsaber department, Dooku would out manuver Maul quickly.

Deathstroke. The man can use 98% of his brain, that's the bottom line in my eyes. liek Deathstroke himself said "I'm a goddamn killing machine!" Wade can crack wise all he wants but, again if someone is thinking eight moves ahead, no matter what you do you're going to get countred. I mean Dathstroke took down the whole JLA in about seven panels.

Thank you for pariticpating in my SW discussion.

My only beef with Deathstroke is that the whole "98% of the brain" thing has been proven to be false. We all use 100% of our brains, so Slade is just as capable as the rest of us. But i'm pretty confident that he would take Wade out, too.

  14. Gotta give it to Cap, even Batman begrudgingly admitted it. Bats is brutal, but Cap is pure skill. He is the personification of fighting ability.

Also, namor takes aquaman. Namor does not screw around. ever.

    Unlike mr.telepathy.

    In a different direction:

    Count dooku vs Darth Maul

I gotta give it to Dracula. Maul is crazy as hell, but Dooku slapped Grievous around, so being crazy is a moot skill. IMO, Dooku is really only second to Anakin, and if he hadn't let his hubris get the best of him, if he would have prepared, he would have defeated Anakin as well.
