the board was a reuse from the original surfer mold when the character was first produced. the later version that came with thanos was after the introduction of the "c3" feet (as danny dubbed them) which allows for the figure to be posed with lego and other block-type accessories. they would have had to recast the mold for the board, which wouldnt have been very cost effective.

i actually really like the bearded thor. like tbt says, almost all of the variants are just changes in color schemes or paints rather than actual physical variants. i think his gold boots and the chest piece being different than the prototype on the box is a lot better. i especially like the detailing on his face. he is easily a better figure than the previously mentioned "big forehead" mainstream figure.
