Im hoping Chameleon has a look aside from that robe (and i dont mean MJ). A suit or something

it's too bad we didn't get that gold and black costume while it was still relevant. i'm not a huge fan of her current look in uncanny avengers. maybe they could do current look with the older look underneath, as they're both based in black and gold. and it's even a throw back to her original mate that came with THREE different looks.

Hydra Cap and Ironheart is the only for sure buy for me. i haven't read any Riri other than what's been in Secret Empire, but i figure i better get her now before i decide i want her later and the price has tripled. and i've really enjoyed Spencer's two Captain America books, as well as Secret Empire so Cap is a lock.

if i hadn't already bought Old Man Logan with a throwaway (for me) Iron Man at tru, i would get this one as i do think it's an improvement, and even tho i haven't read anything with her in it, i could easily throw that Spider-Girl in with the rest of the Spider-Verse... but my LCS haven't been stocking new mates lately and i don't see myself going out of my way for it. if they do show up, i may snag it on a rainy day.

the other 2 are passes for me. i don't need a lot of duplicate characters in different costumes (except for the X-Men as i have multiple displays for them), so unless it's a modern look that i prefer over a classic or previous modern look that is now dated, i usually skip out on mates like King Hulk and AoT Thor. it doesn't help that i have never heard of the two characters accompanying them (tho that's not always a deal breaker).

is it too soon for comic Hela? right off the top of my headfirst one i think of that's only been made as an MCU character. but by the time wave 75 is out, we should probably already have the Thor: Ragnarok mates, right? I suppose there are also Mantis, Yondu and Whiplash...

i call Infamous Iron Man for the legacy/anti-hero/old code name.

i'd like to see Spider-Woman get an updated mate in her new costume. i'm reading the most recent series by Hopeless and i think her costume is neat. unfortunately her series just ended, so a new mate probably isn't in the cards any time soon... so that's all i got rn.

Spidey villain is in TRU 24, which SHOULD be at SDCC. That display case at SDCC should be pretty magical. I just saw TRU 25, not sure it will make it there.

i miss when it took an hour to read a comic. i've been reading uncanny x-men again from giant size forward and those old books were packed with action and character development. there've been times i thought "wow this single issue would be a 4 part arc these days" and that is sad. especially since the prices have sky rocketed. i'm only picking up a few titles now (mostly just the 2 Caps and Secret Wars) and waiting for the Memorial/Labor Day sales at Excalibur here in Portland to pick up everything else. i used to be able to pick up a box of 5-10 comics and get a couple hours read time out of them. now the same would take me about 45 minutes. and i miss word bubbles too! really let you dive into the character and get to know them. now it's just dialogue that half the time could be said by any character. or 1 sentence is passed along thru three different characters... "oh no-- " "--she--" "--didn't!" so annoying.

are we still on track for a reveal this week? can we get a day?

i really can't believe the hissy fit being thrown over Toad not being able to crouch. why would you expect them to create a whole new piece, just because we've waived so long for him? the poster doesn't show him crouching, so it's not like they teased us with the possibility and then took it away. just be happy you're getting Toad. and Master Mind. and Marvel Girl. ...and Prof X, i guess, if you don't already have him... just be happy that minimates have been around for 15 years. and the comparison to the wheel chair is pretty weak... Prof X literally cannot stand. he requires a wheel chair. what kind of sense would it make not to include it? crouching is something that Toad may do often, but it's not his defining feature or mutant power. i jumped on with wave 16 and i'm still along for the ride. instead of telling DST not to bother making something, why don't you just suck it up and if it bothers you then don't buy it. i'm like "take my money." and calling the first Scarlet Witch a failure? you're only speaking for yourself, right? cuz i'm not sure how much weight your opinion holds. she was great for her time, and i think she will stand in just fine to complete the brotherhood.

i'm hoping they show up. i expect they'll be in the next Avengers movie, too.

this boxset is sweet. does it have an official name, yet? i hate the skirt on Rachel Summers, i think it makes her look too thick, but it looks good here. i don't feel like i need an updated Professor X, but hell yes to Toad and Mastermind!

tho a more comic accurate Quicksilver would have the green boots/gloves/trunks, it does seem like a pretty quick custom for anyone really concerned about it (if it doesn't get fixed ahead of time). there's no special detail in any of those spots, so just a quick paint job should do it.

although there are some real differences - her head piece going all the way around being the main one - i'd say either of the Scarlet Witches first 2 mates would be a decent stand in. i'm probably gonna use her first mate from way back when. which has brown eyes, btw, and the next 2 have blue eyes... which one is correct?

and really any Magneto mate would do.

none of the shops in Portland got this wave in (i don't think they're gonna carry mates anymore), but i found it at tru a month ago. i could use the hook up on a silver samurai, if anyone has an extra.
