thanks guys! i was at work one day and was starring at the nail polish displays when it hit me that omg they'd be perfect for my minimates! there's another one that i'm waiting to bring home that's a windmill, which i'm gonna use it for the AoA characters... and another that's like a suitcase, but i haven't decided what to do with that, yet.

i started doing Shadowcat that way after the leg broke off my Astonishing version. i thought it was pretty clever and kinda represents her power, but people ask me all the time what's up with the broken girl lol...

here's my New Mutants display. it's kinda boring, and a little cluttered. i may redo it. Magma's gonna go behind Karma (you can kinda see a lil flame base i put there for her), and Dani will go front and center! can't wait for them to come out!

and in honor of the movie this Friday... here are some of my Avengers!

i can't wait for this set to come out! i've been making displays for my mates the last couple of days, and this is the X-Men one i've been working on! i've got spots set aside for Dazzler, Longshot and Banshee (i know he hasn't been announced, but as one of my favorite characters i'm planning ahead!) and can maybe get 1 or 2 others in there if we get more new characters!

if anyone's wondering what i used for the display base, i work at a salon and brought home a bunch of old opi fingernail polish promotional sets. they work great! just use construction paper to cover the holes and then spray paint!

any word on when these come out?? i put together a little display with all the rest of the New Mutants on it (with the O5 in the background) and designated spots for Dani and Magma. can't wait for it to be finished! i'm gonna hold off on an X-Force one til this set comes out, though, cuz 4 empty spots (i'm thinking of Siryn and Warpath... hoping they come together eventually!) is just too many.

and for the record... i liked Bacholo's art in the early Gen X issues, but don't really care much for it now. it's gotten too cartoony and exaggerated for my tastes.

speaking of Generation X... i'd love to see some mates from this series! it was my favorite for a long time, and still holds a special place in my heart. some might argue that the costumes are all too similar, but the characters themselves were so unique. would love a set with Synch, Husk, Chamber and Jubilee and another with Skin, Penance, Mondo and M! i really doubt we'll see any of them, though, as Gen X has basically been forgotten about...

these are pretty amazing. the outback era was one of my faves (and not just because it's when we first met Jubilee!) so i'm really excited for these. when are these due out?

while i do wish we got more NEW mates, i honestly don't mind when a couple waves come and go that i don't have to rush out to get. buying 35 different comic titles a month puts a serious dent in my wallet as it is. i think the last line i got excited for was #41, and that was just for the 2 Mr. Sinister mates. before that, it was wave #34 with the 90s X-Men. of course i bought the AoA box sets, X-Force, Excalibur and New Mutants. and some of the TRU exclusives. but i have a Captain America, an Iron Man, a Thor... i don't need more than 1 of each. if i'm buying a set that has one of them plus another character i want, my 6 yo nephew gets my cast offs. i'm really excited for the Magma/Mirage and Boomer/Rictor sets though, and they really can't get here fast enough!! oh and don't get me started on the Outback X-Men mates that are coming out... uh next year? now if we could finally get a Forge/Banshee and Sunfire/Green Banshee (variant) i'll be happy.

the comic itself isn't terrible. it was just wildly massed produced with the expectations of it being a huge seller like X-Men #1 was, which sold some 6 million copies.

i love the new Hulk. sure it's different from original mates, but i love how it shows the difference in size. doesn't makes since to have a hulk and prof x (for example) that are the same size!

seriously, a beautiful mate.

weird as soon as i posted this, an episode of robot chicken came on and the first segment was 'the life and times of incredible hulk' lol

woohoo! i went into tru today with the item#, expecting them to tell me they had no idea when they'd be getting them... the chick looked them up and said 'we have 12 packs on the floor'... i really thought she was mistaken cuz i just went in there yesterday! i really love all the AoA mates, but i agree they shoulda given Sabes some real boots. the height extenders don't bother me at all, though, cuz Sabes IS a larger character... it's funny to me that people are complaining about these, because since almost the beginning, we've wanted them to be able to make taller mates like the DC ones... and now that we're getting them, people are bitching.

This guy apparently bought up loads of the TRU packs when they were online.

Not sure he's gonna be able to sell those Wolvies at that price, though

that shit pisses me off. his prices are so outrageous to begin with! its too bad tru can make a limit to the amount of purchases. it's dicks like this that take the fun out of collecting... i just woke up and i'm cranky lol

damn it! missed out... anyone order extras?? i'd be pleased as punch to take some of the aoa blink/sabes & morph/holocaust set off your hands!

these showed up at my local tru sometime over the last couple of days... gives me renewed hope that we may see wave 10!!

i went to the one here in eastern washington today, too. nothing. i'm nervous for when they do start to show up, cuz mine always seem to come in late... or not at all =(

The TRU in Olympia, WA did a restock of this case yesterday. Managed to finally snag a Magik/Warlock set. I'm all ready for Wave 10 now.

whaaat were there any Magik/Warlock's left? thankfully i already got my set, or i'd be furious... my mom is over there and i've been asking her to check for me!

if these are shipping from tru.com, i guess we can be expecting them in stores soon? let the chaos begin!

the store here skipped wave 4, and i never saw the Secret Wars set, or wave 9 and the Cap thru the Ages set... but we've received everything else and i'm keeping my fingers crossed for wave 10!

i finally gave in and bought Cannonball/Shatterstar and Magik/Warlock on ebay last night. paid about double what i'd pay at tru for each, but it was still the 'best' deal i've seen on there... now watch, i'll find them in Portland this weekend...

ok... would the next person who hits up a Toys R Us and sees extra cannonball/shatterstar and magik/warlock mates be willing to hook me up?? i've seriously given up hope that these are going to come in, considering the full set of FF mates we still have... i'd be glad to pay you thru paypal and maybe a little extra for your trouble... though not ebay prices extra...

^That's how I got my set. They weren't even scanned in the back, but computer said they had 19 on the floor and only had 7 out, so a case of 12 was missing. They checked the unprocessed stuff in the bay and found a case.

what is the item number? and will these include the fantastic four wave, as well? i have a feeling we're not going to get these, since we pretty much have a full set of the ff wave... i'm hoping this won't be a problem with wave 10, since it's a different sku or whatever, and the inventory won't show there are still a bunch left...

anyone else in washington state found these yet? i'm in the Tricities and have yet to see em...

i'm starting to feel like these will never show up! usually we get ours here a couple weeks after everyone starts finding them elsewhere... but no one has come across them yet??
