i'm pretty sure i've seen other people do this before, but i decided i didn't care for Sunspot's yellow glow look and i went ahead and just painted every part - except for his head - black. he's pretty plain looking, but this was how he looked in the old comics

i would like some concept art, please. i would also like to know where Banshee is gonna pop up, since he didn't win this (i'm still very surprised Songbird beat him out, tho i'm happy to have her too). i'm hoping there's a new X-Men wave announced soon... although we literally JUST got one. or maybe he'll be a tru exclusive when this wave is released? perhaps with Sunfire, or Forge?? or if we wanna get real cray cray... Moira.

i got an email today from Luke's toy store saying that these had shipped, which surprised me cuz i thought i would have to wait until the 2nd Alpha Flight box sets came in. unfortunately, they're shipping to my roommate's mom's house, which was the original address i was using before i moved in here. she lives like 40 minutes away, so i have no idea when i'm gonna see these =(

i've never read an Iron Man book, either, though i have heard good things about it. but like i said, i really didn't enjoy Fraction's run on X-Men, and it just left a bad taste in my mouth. can't help but wonder if maybe i would've liked it a little better if Land hadn't been the artist... but wasn't he also on Iron Man with Fraction? i'll admit to being mostly on the X-Men side of things. they were all i read growing up, and only started following Avengers titles during Civil War. i feel like Bendis' Avengers stories grew kind of stale, and i dropped them during Fear Itself, which was also when i dropped Avengers Academy. so the X-Men are, again, all that i currently follow at Marvel, but i am gonna read Uncanny Avengers and also give the other new Avengers titles a shot. and for the record, i don't read any DC titles, either (since we're comparing NOW! to new 52)... pretty much all the other books i read are Image titles...

i took it as him committing suicide for the "cause" by jumping off, since Cap seemed more shocked than angry, and yes, even if that didnt kill him, im pretty sure the brain surgery did. I am sad to see one of my favorite X-characters to go that way, but i still loved the issue

well, let's just say he's dead for now... but being that there's no body, we'll likely see him again at some point. he's been greatly under used for years now, tho. i mean, obviously he was never a major character, but he was around much more during the 80s.

did the big A actually die, or maybe just fall off the cliff. either way, he certainly got scalped.

i'm looking forward to Marvel NOW. I enjoyed Bendis on Avengers at first, but over the years I feel like he's kind of lost steam on the titles and i quit reading them during Fear Itself; it'll be interesting to see his take on the X-Men. i haven't read Hickman's FF or Fantastic Four, but both are constantly getting high reviews, so i'm looking forward to his run on the Avengers. X-Men Legacy has been telling Rogue's story for a long time, and Legion is such an underused character, i think the relaunch will be something totally different than what we're used to. plus the first few covers revealed have been pretty sweet. i'm not completely sold on either of the X-Force books, though i'll definitely give them both a shot. sure, Storm on X-Force doesn't make sense in theory, considering how openly upset she was when Wolverine's first X-Force team was revealed... but i'm sure the writer knows that as well and will clearly explain her presence on the team. not to mention Rememder has done some great work with Pyslocke, so hopefully that'll continue as she's the lead of the new series. she's deserved her shot in the spotlight for a long time. and hello, new Young Avengers! i've enjoyed pretty much every YA book that's come out over the years, and the team is on the top of my Minimates wish list! and, oh yeah, i have a feeling Uncanny Avengers is gonna be pretty sweet, too. Fraction on the Fantastic Four series...? well, the only real taste i've had of Fraction as a writer was on Uncanny X-Men, and i hated his run (even briefly quit collecting the title; the first time in over 10 years) plus i've never followed the FF, so i'll continue to pass on that...

also, unlike the new 52, not all of Marvel's titles are starting over. X-Factor will remain the same, and... ok off the top of my head that's the only one i can think of lol... but X-Factor is a great title!

i just checked out tru.com, and the vindicator/box and havok/storm sets are not available for ship to home...

yeah i have to wait til next week for the 2nd Alpha Flight box set. it's gonna be like Christmas, though... both Alpha sets, Wave 47 and the Heralds of Galactus (plus an ice slide lol)... i'm pretty stoked.

i really don't care for that Storm, but i do like the Havok a bit better than the one i already have (there's just so similar!) the main sale for me in this series are the Alpha Flight mates, though i'm only on issues 6 of the original series so i neither of them have come in to play yet. i do want this Rhino, as well, for my Spider-Man villains display i'm working on.

these should be shipping next week! that pic of the team looks awesome! i honestly probably won't wanna keep my Rogue or Storm, so i may be looking to do a bit of trading... of course i'm gonna wait til i have them in hand to decide!

i'm honestly surprised we haven't seen an updated Carnage! i've held off on buying the original, cuz i know once they make a new one it'll be pretty sweet. but come on, how many Venom's do we have now, plus the endless amounts of Spider-Mans, but not Carnage redo?

i was just thinking another sweet mate that could come with this wave woulda been Polaris/Malice. i woulda preferred her with Havok, over Storm for sure.

i ordered the Alpha mates from Luke's store, but they're coming with wave 47... i never read Alpha Flight comics, but i recently ordered the first 20 issues on ebay, and so far i'm 3 issues in, and i'm digging it. a comic shop in town was having a 50% off Labor Day sale, so i bought 21-40 of the series, as well. i'm looking forward to getting both sets of the Alpha mates and making a display for them... though i have no more space in my room lol

any character from any BoEM that hasn't been done yet, including Shadow King as he's been appearing in Uncanny X-Force. i don't see it happening before the 20 year anniversary fan-poll, but i'd love to see some Generation X mates. Siryn, Warpath and Sunspot for X-Force. Sunfire. Mimic. Reavers. the 5 lights. Legion. Forge. there are lots of characters i'd like to see made.

not looking to replace the 4 main FF, but i'm looking forwards to the villains in this wave to add to the display i just finished today. when is this set due out, do we know? i'll also probably add the heralds up top when i get my set from Luke!

well i want Havok, but not Storm. I want Rhino, but not Iron Man. i just got Modok, but have no need for Akuma. Same with the Jill that came with Storm. I'm also planning on picking up MvC3 She-Hulk and X23, but have no desire for Chun-li or that Felicia. looks like i'll be doing some trading, soon!

i'm digging your pics, Demonpr... maybe i'll post my team shots tomorrow! it's been so long since i've read X-Force, but was Deadpool really featured much except towards the end of New Mutants for a couple of issues? i thought about including him in my X-Force set, but opted not to...

any thoughts on when the second box set comes out? i bought Northstar separately last week to place with my X-Men, but i'm gonna buy both Alpha Flights sets once they're all out.

i haven't bought any of the previous MvsC minimates yet, but i am looking forward to a few from Wave 3... MODOK, obviously, but also X-23 so i can put the X-Force X-23 with the rest of the Uncanny X-Forcers. And She-Hulk, not because i have a problem with the old She-Hulk mate, but because i'd like to give her hair to Polaris. for some reason, the hair on the Polaris mate has always bugged me, and makes her look so huge next to Havok.

well we don't know who is in wave 49 yet so maybe we'll see some of the characters not in wave 50, or as tru companions... that said, i'm only interested in Onslaught and Songbird, tho i may pick up one of the Zemos. i'm really surprised by the results, though.

i'm blown away that Banshee is not on the list.
