  1. Some of you are really not getting the point I'm trying to make. I'm saying when we know a Spidey wave is coming, I find it disheartening that some members here are popping up with "I never got this guy, so we need a new one" or "Its been a while since we got this guy, he could use a redo." At this point in the line we shouldn't be getting waves that are 66% rereleases, or box sets that are 75% rereleases when there is so much they've never gotten to yet. I'm simply making the point that DST is very prone to rereleases and if we don't want that to become the standard it might not be the best idea to say "We want a new Shocker or Kraven just because" when the odds of that happening are far more likely than some of you give credit for.

I agree some do need it, and said as much, but I guess that never quite sunk in. We know Zach Oat reads the board and posts, so even though we do not have that much influence, which I acknowledged already, they do see what we say. But whatever, I'm really tired of trying to make a thought out argument when the response I'm getting is "Theres always going to be retreads, get used to it, they don't listen to us anyway." I don't have to like it, and I want to give DST my money, forgive me if it's not for characters I already have. This line could become the biggest representation of the Marvel Universe, but this majority retread in new waves is getting really old. I'm tired of being excited about 2-3 'mates out of a 7 figure wave.

...You... you could always just buy those 2-3 figures, though.

    Right?

  2. I think a lot of the reason that Thing turned out so well is that his character design is already pretty inhuman. The segmented, armor-y looking pieces don't really clash with his theme of "being a big pile of rocks."

But when Hulk is represented with sleeves and hands that show bits of tiny minimate arms underneath, it kind of wrecks the illusion that he's in any way humanoid because oh sweet christ there's another tiny person under there.

They sculpted those puffy sleeves, right? Why can't they just do that with the arms on bigger characters? I'm not saying they have to be like, superhuge, but a little bit of musculature sculpted on instead of huge ugly sleeves would fill the figure out a lot.

  3. I'm totally buying every single one of these.

Although I'm extremely dissapointed in the Spider-Man. Selective web deco? Really? We're still doing that?

The webline somehow managed to be the biggest mistake about him. He does tons of weird web shit in-game. We couldn't have gotten a webshield? Even a web-ball, somehow?

But with the exception of him, this has turned out pretty great. The rehashes aren't unbearable, and it's actually pretty nice to get the updated Street Fighter guys. They've chosen this line up moderately well, as long as there's more coming.

  4. Oh god, these look amazing.

If my nearest TRU wasn't three hours out of the way I'd be all over these.

If anyone winds up with an extra Lizard I'll fill you with money and probably like...

    Magic, or something, for it.

  5. Nothing as yet from my order with BBTS.

And is the red/blue Spidey mask any better printed on the regulars than the TRU ones? The one I got from a guy on ebay has this lousy hole-mark from where it was produced and a line that goes right through it as well. Sucks.

My set just came in from AFX today, and everything seems to be just fine on him.

I don't really have anything to compare it to, but nothing looks wrong to me.

  6. As a huge Spider-Man fan, I'll be buying all of them.

I'm excited to finally have a bright colored Spider-Man with musculature and a slip-on head, and the same for Symbiote Spidey. Cosmic Spidey looks pretty good, too.

Shocker looks... okay. There are a few problems with it, but like many others have said, I hope they'll be fixed by production time.

I would have preferred a sculpted vest for Kraven, but he's still easily my favorite of this wave,, and he looks GREAT. From the second I got my Doctor Strange, I knew that hair should be used for him.

Tarantula looks horrible. No pointy shoes, the costuem didn't translate well... it had better get fixed.

Who really dissapoints me if Venom. Maybe he'd work as McFaralne Venom if they gave him a smiling mouth that was just a bit smaller, I guess, but all in all, I'm not thrilled with another Venom, especially one like this.

  7. My three choices have all been named-- Lost, Arrested Development, MST3K.

How about... Curb Your Enthusiasm? No, wait, Flight of the Concords. That would be cool.

Flight of the Conchords would be rad!

    Four Pack:

    Bret with Guitar

    Jemaine with Bass

    Murray with checklist

Dave with Paint Ball Gun or Mel with... something humorously creepy

other accessories: boom-box, stationary bike, musical card, box of sawdust

    Exclusive 2-Pack:

    Bret with eye patch

    Jemaine as David Bowie

Coco was kinda prominent, I'd say she'd constitute an exclusive or something. Maybe even just bagged, but it'd be nice to have her there too.

Maybe even...ugh, I forget their names and now I feel like a bad fan, but the two guys from the last episode. Demitri Martin played one. With the bongos.

  8. ok, this has been kicking around my head for awhile now so here we go

battle damaged wolvy/sabertooth - with DST timing comics and movies we are due a comic based tooth

    Gambit/mr sinister

madrox/syrin with variant trenchcoat madrox - kinda longshot but would be very sweet

    Jeff of the Miniacs

i like ur idea, but with some adjustments

    Battle damaged Wolverine/Deadpool

    Gambit/Mr. Sinister

    Longshot/Captain Brittain

and a Agent X variant for Deadpool

Sabretooth should be packed with Wolvy, though. Deadpool would fit better with Cable. One with giant shoulderpads and better looking guns.

  9. You're all going to be incredibly disappointed when the Back in Black version ends up being Spidey in an AC/DC shirt.

The more I think about it, the more I agree that a build-a-Parker figure by swapping parts seems impossible. Even if you could cover the spider shirt with a coat or worse, cover a shirt with a spider shirt, you'd still have spider pants to consider, not to mention swapping out gloves and boots. So, you'd have to include well over half of a new figure just to make a second character out of the first. I'm thinking the build-a-Parker idea will go the same place MZ Black Panther's cyborg limbs went.

Well, if they don't give it blue highlights, the black pants could be okay. I can see something similar to Sandman's chestpeice from the SM3 wave working for Peter, even if it'd be a little bulky. Then, all you really need are arms and hands.

What I'm more concerned about is Transormation Venom. I cant find a way for that to easily turn into the 616 Eddie Brock figure I crave without becoming the exact same figure as the last transformation Venom.

  10. The only mates I really need out of wave 23 are Rhodey Warmachine, Cloak, Dagger, and Spymaster.

Wave 24 sounds fantastic, being a Spider-man fan myself.

I'll be buying every one of these, including Tarantula. Especially since I don't have a Symbiote Spider-Man, and this should be close enough.

Even if Back in Black had a fabric version...

  11. I'm all for obscure Marvel characters. Like Mysterio, Kraven, Aunt May, The Lizard, The Vulture, Jubilee, Toad, Sauron, The Inhumans, Excalibur, Skrulls, The Ultimates, Bucky, Cloak, Dagger, Deadpool...

On second thought, I'm beginning to think that truly obscure Marvel characters are going to have to get in line.

Bucky, Deadpool, Toad and all those Spidey villains you named? Obscure?

    Since when?

  12. I just picked up Dr. Doom at Wal-mart today. I'm definately going back for what's left, and looking for what's not on eBay.

These are possibly my second favorite Marvel line ever. (Guess what number 1 is?)

  13. I just bought my set earlier today.

Iron Man is made completely out of reused parts, and manages to be the best figure here.

This Cap immediately got torn apart to update my normal Captain America. I had to, and I bet you all did it, too.

  14. I love Spidey.

He's been my favorite superhero for as long as I can imagine, and 70% of my comic book Collection is pure Spider-Man.

I'm going to hope this gets fixed within the next year, or I'm gonna hurt someone.

I'm going to keep buying and reading, but my heart has been broken by that fat, evil man and his pencil.
