  1. Has anyone gotten a notice from AFX that the For a Few Dollars More mates have shipped.

Everyone seems to have them in stock, but AFX is still showing 1-2 weeks.... they did the same w/ BTTF2.... never showed as ready to ship. I finally cancelled the order and bought from somewhere else.

Sometimes AFX is really good with stuff like the BSG and ST sets and it goes out quick. Others items it seems to take much longer (from the Diamond release date)

I have only two things to say, "cornerstore comics" and "Big Bad Toy Store", maybe "You Buy Now" honorable mention

  2. This idea I think actually has a lot of potential, I'd avaid spamming, but bumperstickers (ask me about my minimates... ), a few posters/stickers up on some street light posts or abandoned buildings..., nothing invasive but something to get people curious to look or to get the logo more recognition.

I'm with you xvashx! viva el minimate ;)

  3. Dang, I'm really suprised at some peoples reaction :( since there was some possible rumors of no more Marvels mates (whether you believed it or not). I'm extremely excited about Nova  , he is my looking to be my all time favorite and your missing a really good story if your not reading his comic, it's not as good as Invincible, but I'll take it dancing all the way home.

All I have to say is thanks DST and Marvel!!!

  4. I ordered the DC wave 6 from them in November to get the exclusive armored spidey and they still have not shipped and if I had not harrassed them :o they would not have given me updates. I even asked if they could do anything for me for the HUGE delay and they pretty much told me it wasn't their problem.

  5. Given Hasbrofs hold on the Marvel license, it would not be impossible for them to wrangle away the 2 scale license. With the growing popularity, it wouldnft be unheard of for them to root out the competition, which would be the more articulate Minimate. On the other hand, if Hasbro were to secure the license, it could mean a partnership in much the same way as DC Directfs Minimate line. This could also mean an end to the licensing restrictions, such as the 2 height limit. A partnership with Hasbro could also make for better sales, as Hasbro is a bigger name than Diamond Select Toys, which could make for a stronger market reaction and possibly lead to more units on shelves in more outlets. Of course, on the reverse side of the coin, if the license is indeed lost, then the line could just be shelved, never to see the light of day again, which would be the worst case scenario, and probably the most likely one.

I'm sure DST doesn't plan on going down easy on this, however I have to agree with the guys at MMHQ with their assesment.

Hasbro would be wise to open it up like DC Direct is doing, not only for competition, but the solid fan base is already developed here and could easily be expanded upon with the other Hasbro licences as well as their ability to get it to mass market.

  6. Seeing as Ultimate anything is proving popular, will we be seeing any Ultimates or Ultimate Characters in Mini Form soon? X-Men, Spidey, and Goblin were good teasers, but Iron Man is a necessity.

DSTChuck: I think if all things were to go well there is a chance we’d look at Ultimates again for ideas.

I'm getting a reading from my crystal ball.....

  7. Hey Chuck,

Since you are a spider-man fan, will the iron spider-man appear in a near future wave since the costume is still appearing in the comics in one form, and the figure was set for the Target wave?
