  1. oh man.. Zach stops by and not a single comment as to which Disney Princess he was with on Valentines Day.. I kind of see him as a Belle type of guy.. .. maybe Rapunzel. ...but I digress.

This has been my favorite thread to catch up on day to day. I look forward to March.. I seriously love not knowing! for whatever reason it makes me more interested. tongue.png

If this turns out to be just about any Disney license, I will buy up every bit of it. I absolutely love how vast and different the Minimate world has become. Even though DC, Doctor Who and Star Wars would be my 1, 2, and 3 greatest minimate wish.. I still get excited to see every new license that comes along!!

    Long live the Minis!!

  2. Who can teach me a bit about that Black and Yellow Iron Man armor? I keep thinking of Mainframe.. but then it looks like it comes with a Tony Stark head. I thought Mainframe was an android.

(Miry.. I'm looking in your direction....)

It's basically an updated version of the modular armor. The Extremis armor was good at everything, the logic behind this suit is that if Tony needs an armor that's really, really strong he uses this armor. All power would be focused on strength and not flight speed, stealth, etc. Basically he plans his missions ahead for what type of additions to the modular armor he will need.

Hopefully we get some cool attachments with this.

bigvis covered it pretty well, Vox. Stark came up with this one when he was "not" being Iron Man, after the whole "got caught drinking and armoring" during FI. Tony had to publicly remove himself from his company, and remove all the IM tech from his body. (Again, this is why revealing his ID to the public was a bad idea, but I digress.) Rhodey wore it first, which makes it unique among new armor designs.

As for R.O.B.... you don't think Ms. Hill is going to let a SHIELD backed Hulk roam around unescorted?

Thanks Bigvis and Miry! Has there been any story around the colors chosen and how it does look a bit like Mainframe?

  3. Heads up for U.S. fans.. Barnes & Noble carry the Tardis Set ($19.99) and the 11 Doctors Set ($39.99) in their stores. Paying any amount for shipping always bugs me when there is a local store that may carry something.. so I thought this might be useful for other yankee Who fans. ;)

I found these at 2 B&N stores in the Salt Lake City area so I gotta think they are available most places. I love the Tardis but I do wish it was just a bit bigger (going to see if I have some "tardis blue" legos to add to it.). Lots of extra stickers if you mess up putting them on. I REALLY REALLY wish Minimates were still a possibility with this franchise. :(

Next step, I need one of you gifted customizers to make me a David Tennant Dr. :)

  4. So a couple kids get ripped on poppy's.. then they are so high that they forget they are related?.. Interesting... though I am not good at undertsanding other cultures so I may be way off on my assessment.

Also, can't wait to see the reveal on the IM3 minis.. Toy Fair?.. or does anyone know when we will see prototypes?

  5. I first found minimates while trying to find some inexpensive super hero figures for my nephews that were not "scary" looking. Little did I know that 8 years later I would get bigger into collecting these things than any other item in my life.

Size for storage and display are a big selling point. I love the quality and even the art work. I am still amazed how a few lines on a round block face can make a piece of plastic look like a person I have scene in a movie, etc. I have to say, not all toys can also be works of art.. especially this small. But minimates have done it.

  6. Spy vs Spy.. so many variant possibilities. :)

I would not want to see Strawberry Shortcake either.. mainly because my wife would become a bigger minimate collector than I am. I am mainly a comic book minimate collector (DC/Marvel) but over the years I have given in to a lot of other licenses and movies.. So it is hard for me to say for sure what I would not buy in minimate form. Fun thread to read though.

  7. Merry Christmas to me! I finally got my hands on this box set and LOVE IT! The Iron Man is just crazy and now I want a second one since the suit underneath is pretty amazing too. This combined with a Imhotep on its way to me for cost is a great holiday treat. DST rules and collecting minimates continues to be a blast!!

  8. Love the car but my Herman Munster's 2nd head will not fit in.. The hole is much smaller that the regular head. Any advice on how to widen it without breaking it?

I had to forceĀ it, but it went on... eventually.

    Thanks.. I'll just keep trying.

As for the vehicle, I think it is pretty awesome. I have my Universal Monsters posed in it and it looks great. The rubber tires and detailed design are close to perfect. It makes me wish the BTTF car had these tires and detail. <sigh>
