Mystery Man

I picked up my case today and love how they look.

That mallet goes great with Joker and hearkens back to the Super Powers Joker that came with a big hammer.

While I like the Hal Jordan hairpeice that comes with, I used my Bruce Banner minus glasses peice and like it soooo much more.

Green Lantern Hal Jordan is my favorite!

Dang it, you guys are lucky. There's no way for me to reserve any in advance; and my LCS manager expects these to all be gone fifteen minutes after they arrive. To top it off, the delivery truck gets there anywhere from 1 to 4 in the afternoon, and I can't rely on them to call me when they get there! So, I plan to call every ten minutes, and hope I get lucky.

They won't hold a set for you? Man, whatta buncha creeps. I'm sorry.

my biggest complaint is the lack core spidey villians. After wave 3 all the rest of the waves had gone down in depth or core villians. Give me a break, Silver Sable? Spider-Carnage? where the hell is Scarlet Spider? Kraven? Hobgoblin? Vulture? Heck I'll even take a Morlin. I'm glad we finally get Avengers. Like I said before, I consider Marvel Movie Mates separate from the regular line. I throw them in with the rest of the Movie Mates. In saying that, I'm still craving more comic based minimates. Hopefullly we get some better villians after wave 18.

Man, you're tellin' me. I'm sick of the same old stuff. I was hoping that after Series 16 was shown that they'd be moving onwards and upwards and quit phoning this stuff in, but it looks like more of the same "geared toward no diversity" stuff.

There's two kinds of this "non diversity" disappointment, to me.

There's the 1st kind that's general. It's the one where you say "Aw man, why can't we get some more new characters that we've never seen before?!" For me, that's more Avengers, people like Kang and Ultron and so forth. Dr. Strange and Namor don't get minimates but we get TWO Sandman's? C'mon, what the heck!? At this point I'd even take some X-Men if they were folks like Angel and Marvel Girl and other characters helpful to building teams and such.

Then there's the 2nd kind which is series specific. So for example, that's when I say "Man, how come we get all these updated versions of Spider-Man and the movie characters and still nobody really and truly new?!" We've gotten a Hydro Man which DOES count as really-and-truly new. But then... Iron Spider-Man? It's new, yes, but... it's still "A" Spider-Man.

Where's Vulture? Mysterio? Lizard? Electro? Hobgoblin? The Prowler? Freakin' ROCKET RACER, even! The fact that we still don't have a neat little original Sinister Six is the biggest bummer to me of all. I could swallow all these Spider-Man variations if we had some good villains. But "Spider-Man and Maybe Sometimes His Amazing Minimate Friends" doesn't do it for me at all.

I'm all in for the DC series. I've pre-ordered a case of all the sets currently available which is something I've never done. I'll preorder a case of Marvel series 16 when I can at my LCS.

But this other junk? Bah. Just junk that takes away from a great concept and a great line with piss poor delivery.

It was a good, fun movie that didn't try to be something it wasn't.

I enjoyed it alot.

The only plug I know of is the one AA uses to hold back new characters in favor of the same ones.

I'd love to see a Spirit minimate.

In the case that that is what happens, T, then we might have to take a nod from Mystery Man and rename the Marvel line "Spider-Man and his Amazing Minimate Friends"

But seeing all these Spider-Man re-hashes makes me want to throw up in disgust.

What a bunch of crap.

How many shit versions of the same people are we going to get? Where's the Lizard and Mysterio and Hobgoblin? Give me the Black Fox for cryin' out loud.

Gah. Just when I thought they were getting their act together.

How come Wasps head when we haven't even gotten a regular Wasp yet?

With that Ma Hunkel I'll be able to make a Forbush Man. hahaha

I'm really happy with the diversity that this line is showing. I wish Marvel would take note of this.

I'll be buying a set, but I'd rather see new characters and not zombie versions of the same repeats.

I really enjoyed the story and I really think these look great.

But I'm not going to start supporting "the line" if I'm not getting stuff I want.

And this line is just cashing in on the current popularity of the series. Which is fine and good. Except that there's also a X3 line and a Ghost Rider line and a Spider-Man line, all to cash in on the currentness of those films.

I don't want that. I want characters that I'm a fan of. Hawkeye, Dr. Strange, Namor, Hercules and so forth. Series 16 looks great. But I fear that 17 is going to be, to me, taking another step back if it's more of the same like what's been seen at Toyfare.

I recalled that custom when I saw the new one, too.

It's way too busy.

And how many versions of Spider-Man beaten up are we going to get? At least one in each costume?

So Series 17 ISN'T the Spider-Man wave?

That takes the pain off for me, for sure, since I like Spider-Man but want new characters.

I read "Torment" Spider-Man and was hoping for "Tormeny" Lizard... too bad.

I'd like to see him in his black/white costume, I think. It didn't have much green on it but after all this time it's the one that I associate with him the most. The rest just don't feel quite right, to me. Ah well. The last GL costume he wore and the Ion one are so interchangeable to me that it wouldn't much matter one way or the other (to me, at least).

I'd just like to get several GLs. I hope they'll branch out and make other alien GL's like Tomar Re, Katma Tui, Arisia and so forth.

What makes me already like the DC way more than the Marvel is the lack of "theme" in the series assortments. That way you get a little of everything rather than being left out in the cold if you don't want a whole series of a certain type.

Alan Scott/ Solomon Grundy is too good an idea to pass up

There are so many good combinations listed in this thread it's hard to come up with ideas of my own.

Don't get me wrong, it's some neat lookin' stuff. The detail is incredible and alot of work has been put into them.

But besides Hydro Man, it's still just the "one more version of" game.

For the sake of variety, sure, but they're not near the top of my list.

I decided to order a case. Then I can have several that-style Green Lantern bodies to put different heads on to go with my John Stewart version GL bodies.

Does anybody know how many sets come in each box? And what the case breakdown is?
