I agree with the clay comment. Seriously, these just look cheap and don't really capture the style very well. I imagine they might have looked better had they painted the face on instead of molding those peepers on there.

Then again, this is Mezco. Who really expects quality with them?

What hilt did you want? My suggestion would be to get one on ebay/trade, and then painting it with transparent paint. heck, you may even try dying it. Green i think would work best, as it already has yellow in it. Red or blue would be switching to another primary.

Ok so my next big goal is to get the aquaman DC Vs MOTUC Set or at least the Aquaman from it. How are these sold are they TRU Exclusives? If so. IS there anyone willing to help me get one and ship it to me at cost? Looking at the ebay iinflation on the superman he-man set I really would like to avoid the hit to my wallet.

Except for ODST wasn't an extention of Halo 3. it actually had more to do with Halo 2. And was better than both games combined. And yeah, I was counting Halo Wars. if Bungie calls it it's last game after 5 titles, that's good though for me.

Pics of the Universal Monters 4-packs are up on the AA blog. Looks like they goofed and photoshopped in transformation Larry's face twice on the back of the Wolfman pack.

Also, the bottom of the back says to see the site for Marvel Minimates info, which is correct technically but I doubt they meant to put the word Marvel on there.

I really don't like how the Mini-Time Machine looks from a side or 3/4ths angle view BUT I finally figures out how to display it: Dead on!

From the sides the time machine looks squatty but from a straight on view, it's pretty good (a little tall, but it's as wide as it should be about) I butted it up against the back of my display shelf, with Doc, Marty and a custom 10th Doctor (he hitched a ride with them since I'm too lazy to print and build a mini-TARDIS yet) climbing out of it and it looks just as good as any official full-sized time-machine but for half-the-shelf-space! (I'm thinking I might make a back drop for it to make it look as though it crashed through a wall)

I also got the Mini-Jet and I do want to say, the modular-ness of the jets shows some real potential for the unlicensed vehicles, right out the box you can pick up to 4 different wing configurations (If anyone doesn't want their Jet's Jet-pack I'll buy it off you, I'd kind of like to go with the dual-turbine set up on the box but I'm not willing to spend $12 on another jet), I'm not sure how that would translate to more realistic vehicles like the fire truck and helicopter being able to switch parts or set them up upside-down-backwards pieces, but more faux-future vehicles will open some fun options, especially if the pirate ship is Max compatible (space pirates! They're pirates in spaaace!)

As another Hoosier, I wanna say I'm damn lucky to at least LIVE in Beech Grove, which is in the center of Indianapolis, which is at the center of Indiana. I have three TRUs that are a semi-reasonable distance from me. One time, I went to all three looking for a Transformer. She was packed with ONE other. At both that had recieved the case, I saw a SHITLOAD of the one I didn't want, but NONE of the one I did. Tell me that isn't scalpers.

I wanted to point out that they've done away with Spidey's sliopcover, something we mostly all wanted. They've FINALLY bulked up the arms to go with the legs, so instead of saying how ugly it is why don't we thank them for CLEARLY listinening to our suggestions. And, for haters on sculpted parts, Lizard looks great. Way more old school minimate.

I dunno, I dig the thought of a MK IV/VI Iron Man thats legs aren't crooked...

Alright, I'm going to weigh in on this, because I'm seeing people mix stuff up and from what I just went over and re-read, this is what I'm getting.

• Mystery Man has said he deserves a promo as much as anyone else deserves one.
• Karamazov has said that "unless you actually go to Chicago for this convention, you don't really deserve one"
• TBT has not said that you don't deserve one if you don't go, and doesn't seem to be opposed to people asking, as long as they don't demand.
• BHM has stated that if you ask he'll try.
• Cappy believes "nobody 'deserves' any Minimate, or any other toy at that, nor the privilege of driving. Not even people attending conventions." He also states there is a difference between asking and demanding.
• JP is upset at the attitude towards those who are asking for minimates.

I'm also noticing a few things, namely that no one has outright stated that they just DESERVE to own the toy for no reason. They've said everyone deserves it equally or those who make the trip deserve it, but not just "I deserve a free minimate.

My thoughts on this? While no one inherently deserves a minimate, all of us have the right to ask. This community was founded on generosity. If not for both my own and Shane's, I wouldn't have stuck around. (long story short, I bought him a $60 bust at Gencon, having JUST signed up to these forums and totally trusting a complete stranger to pay me, and he not only repaid me but gave me SEVERAL hard to find minimates as well.

I'm really offended by those of you getting angry at people requesting minimates. Not all of us can make it to the damn convention, no matter how hard we try. We don't claim that you MUST get us minimates because we DESERVE them, we ask if you can because this community is known for its generosity and tight-knit members.
