  1. ya.. seeing the prototypes from DCD got me thinking about this as a box set and I would dig it. I liked Green Arrows 'real world' superhero look.. and if they gave cyborg his red eye and port in his arm.. along with the silver costume he wore then thats a nice real world look for him too.. who knows if they would translate well to mini form.

The Smallville episode titled: Justice wasn't perfect but in my opinion it is the best live action version of the Justice League ever made. I look forward to seeing Green Arrow, Martian Manhunter and new characters this season on Smallville.

Dude I'd get them in a heart beat, I've already pre-ordered the DCDirect action figures of these five.

  2. I wanted to show you the image of Wonder Woman on the outside of the pack.

...oh sorry Mini_Myte and everyone else.

I wasn't really paying attaention to the detail.

You are right, that was what I was talking about.

I Apologise again. Especially to Mini_Myte.

    So Ares is a 2.5er?

  3. ... I wonder if Wonder Woman will be on the display case like Superman in Wave 1 and Batman in wave 2.

Makes me wanna squat outside the comic store similar to the Star Wars fans outside the cinemas months even before the movies came out.

    Does this answear your qustion?

    Wonder Woman and Ares

    Aquaman and Ocean Master

    BD Batman and Killer Croc

    Deathstroke and Green Arrow

I know who is in this wave.

I'm saying the blister pack has this card board piece which has a different character on it.

    Wave 1 - Superman

    Wave 2 - Batman

I'm saying I wonder if they are gonna use Wonder WOman for Wave 3.

Everybody knows all the minimates that are gonna be in wave 3 already.

If you have Wave 1 and 2 then you will know what I'm talking about.

  4. I think we're all forgetting DCD's point of view.

    Chase figures = money.

I'm sorry, but that's what its all about. Variants equal money. Let's just hope they don't do it soon, but as they say, money makes the world go around.

Again, DCD IS OFFERING VARIANTS, they're just not making them hard to find like DST's CHASE figures that are one per case.

Of course they're going to continue to offer variants of top-selling characters like Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, et al. But making popular variants easy to acquire will only make this line more collectible for veterans and more accessible to newcomers.

Chase figures are a bad idea especially from DCD's point of view.

    Want someone to blame?

    Answer: Marvel

The first modern superhero variants I saw released were for the Marvel Legends action figures. That was like is series 2 with the human torch with the green flame and/or the one with/without the (4) chest symbol and also with the thing wearing the trenchcoat, hat and sunnies.

The Diamond select followed suite with by adding the variant/chase garbage to the minimates products.

If I sound a little off-centre then by all means correct me when necessary.

DON'T GET VARIANTS/CHASE FIGURES CONFUSED WITH COMIC CONVENTION EXCLUSIVES. THEY ARE TOTALLY DIFFERENT. THEY MAY ALSO BE CONSIDERED LIMITED EDITION AND MAY SIDE-TRACK EVERYONE FORM THE ORIGINAL POST BY The_Donster

  5. Now all I need to do is seek out Catwoman, Cassandra Cain and Nightwing, and I will be the happiest guy on the planet.

What annoys me is that a year ago my department store had hundreds of Catwomans and Nightwings.

    The search continues...

I still need Cassie Batgirl, Nightwing, Riddler, Flash, Martian Manhunter & Manbat.

I never saw any of them anywhere.

There are heaps of gthe miniflyers on ebay. The department store near my place sold em for AU$4.95, but none left since Xmas.

They'll cost ya a pretty penny.

As for Catwoman, I'll check the Toy'r'us store. They had one for AU$9.99. Although same deal like the minimates.

As for the mini-javelin minimates, last I check it sold for US$80+.

There is a Manbat figure at this Aussie online toy store: http://www.bibyco.com.au/secure/catalog/pr...roducts_id=2733

hope it helps. If not, they ebay again.

  6. can't really tell, but a good guess would include some of these:

    Martian Manhunter

    Mr Freeze

    Metamorpho

    Etrigan / Jason Blood

    Sinestro

    Black Canary

    Plastic Man

    The Flash - Barry Allen

...and if it ever popped into their mind... LOBO!

The next wave would be there villans like Gorrilla Grod and Slade Wilson and THE BRAIN

Slade Wilson is in wave 2, dude. Deathstroke the Terminator.

    Grod would awesome.

    Actually, he's in wave 3.

My mistake... Green Arrow and Deathstroke; the accessories alone would put the Punisher/Blade 2pack to shame.

  7. yeah cancer is a variant of human tissue...

there is a perfect example of a variant.

DC has made a good decision by excluding variants. Also who would wanna buy a set with a variant when it also has a clone of a miniamtes you can't stand.

Look at the DC Superheroes line, the variants aren't that interesting. If you want a variant get yourself a fine detail brush and a paint set.

This way everyone can collect the whole set.

Who would rather have exclusives (eg GL John Stewart) than a variant.

  8. can't really tell, but a good guess would include some of these:

    Martian Manhunter

    Mr Freeze

    Metamorpho

    Etrigan / Jason Blood

    Sinestro

    Black Canary

    Plastic Man

    The Flash - Barry Allen

...and if it ever popped into their mind... LOBO!

The next wave would be there villans like Gorrilla Grod and Slade Wilson and THE BRAIN

Slade Wilson is in wave 2, dude. Deathstroke the Terminator.

    Grod would awesome.

  9. :(:(

    100_0686.jpg

Dude, just get a miniflyer and do a transplant with either Nightwings or Alt. Supermans leg.

i wish it was made of the same plastic like what LEGO uses.

    Hey anyone tried this yet?

Get the Lex head and attach it to the Bruce Wayne body from the batcave set and you got Lex rockin some businessman's gear.

    Sorry I don't have a pic, yet.

  10. Why not Both?

Get DC cos they are the latest and Marvel cos they still ain't gettin' old.

Go for the Marvel ten pack and the 4-packs that'll get you up to date sooner than you expect. Toys 'r' Us is the place to go.

otherwise get yourself an ebay account and bid like crazy.

  11. First off, sorry for not replying.

Thanks so much for your consideration but i finally got John Stewart through eBay.

It's been months but I got one, finally.

I guess there are people who would want my place on the list.

A little tip for those not on the list yet:

Ebay is the best place to get it.

Try not to bid, but go for the "buy it now" option.

I'm in Australia and i got the item from LA within seven working days.

    Peace

  12. Well Art Asylum should take a note from the marvel series, most of their variants were quite dull. A change of paint ain't what fans are looking for. A variant should have been a popular, yet new character like maybe Gambit or Jubilee for example instead of doubling up on wolverine or cyclops.

    Stay Off The Variants.

    Stick With Exclusives.

I agree with the current poll results.

  13. ya can't really tell, though. maybe one of the following:

    Captain Marvel

    Martian Manhunter

    Lobo

    Metamorpho

    Wildcat

    Plasticman

    Catwoman

    Poison Ivy

    Mr Freeze

    Gorilla Grodd

    The Flash

    Sinestro

    Darkseid

on the artasylum website the poll results showed that LoSH was a popular theme for the next upcoming wave.

They're really mixing it up with their character choices.

    Marvel should take some notes...

yeah im sick of variants of wolverine, thing and spidey

its a good thing, at least superman and batman aren't included in this series otherwise it would be an exact repeat of marvel.

although i would like to see superman and batman variations of their civilian gear

    Jason Voorhees

    Michael Myers
